Two five-year-old girls from China's Henan province were found brutally murdered on Sunday. Police found their charred body parts stashed in a pottery jar in the yard of a 17-year-old high school dropout's house.
The two kindergarteners, Lin Lin (琳琳) and Ru Ru (茹茹), attended a neighbor's wedding with their families on Friday and went missing after they left the venue to buy popsicles. Police conducted a thorough search of the area where the wedding was held, but their search was futile.
Then a man surnamed Lu (呂) attracted the police's attention because he changed his story about seeing the girls. Police searched his house and found charred traces of the girls in the yard and pieces of human body parts stashed in a large pottery jar. Forensic tests confirmed that the tissue belonged to the two girls.
The suspect, a 17-year-old high school dropout, admitted to choking the girls by strangling their necks before dismembering and burning their bodies. Authorities are investigating the suspect's motives.
