'A Most Violent Year' has a good night

STORY: The National Board of Review handed out its best film, actor and supporting actress prizes on Tuesday (January 6) to "A Most Violent Year," a drama about a man fighting to protect his business in early 1980s New York City.

The film's star Oscar Isaac was presented with his best acting prize by his co-star and longtime friend Jessica Chastain.

"It's fantastic because we went to school together. Even in school I just recognized what a talent she was, just how gifted she is. And then to be able to finally work on something this intense and this intimately with. And then the fact that people are responding to it - it's great."

Jessica Chastain nabbed the supporting actress prize for playing Isaac's wife.

"Tonight is very good for 'A Most Violent Year,'" declared Chastain.

David Oyelowo, who also appears in "A Most Violent Year" is also gaining praise for his portrayal of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in "Selma," but
