Republicans took full control of Congress as the 114th Congress convened Tuesday in Washington, D.C.

Vice President Joe Biden presided over the U.S. Senate, which is now controlled by the GOP for the first time in eight years.

He also swore in new and re-elected Senators.

The GOP has said it will work to roll back President Barack Obama's immigration, energy and healthcare policies.
