Immigrants on Canary Island tourist beach spark Ebola fears

Ebola fears land on one of Spain's Canary Islands when a group of sub-Saharan migrants land on its shores.

They waited under the scorching sun for almost five hours as authorities tried to decide whether to put the Ebola protocol into action, after they found that six of the illegal immigrants had a high fever.

It was an unwelcome surprise for holidaymakers.

Authorities burned the boat that carried the migrants.

Local media said that once doctors found that none of the migrants had been in Sierra Leone, Liberia or Guinea, they were taken away from the beach in the back of a the rubbish truck.
