Lorde embarrased by 'Royals'

She might be a two-time Grammy winner with Billboard chart clout, but Lorde says she is just like any other teen.

SOUNDBITE: Lorde, singer, saying (English):

"The concept of being a role model is a lot to carry. I am young enough that I am probably going to screw something up at some point in a really bad way and no one is going to want me as their role model anymore and I am going to feel bad. But that being said, I think it is awesome that young people and young girls are inspired by what I am doing."

The 17-year-old's hit song "Royals" topped the charts for more than two months.

However, the singer says while proud she is somewhat embrassed by the tune.

SOUNDBITE: Lorde, singer, saying (English)

"I mean, I wrote that song when I was like 15, an like, early 15, so, you know, a lot of the stuff you do when you are a kid you get embarrassed by. I don't know, it's like, I am still proud of it, but, yeah, it's kind of funny."
