Rio protesters burn buses, clash with police ahead of World Cup

Fires in Rio de Janeiro burned on Monday night as violence engulfed parts of Brazil's second largest city.

In one massive slum complex, police clashed with suspected drug traffickers and vandals set fire to city buses.

The clashes included a shoot out where police fired tear gas to contain the violence.

One man was wounded and several arrests were made.

Monday's unrest comes one week after violence erupted in Rio's famous Copacabana neighborhood.

But it's also just weeks before the start of the soccer World Cup.

That's when Rio and 11 other Brazilian cities will host hundreds of thousands of tourists for the major event.
