Manolo Blahnik debuts at London Fashion Week

Veteran shoe designer Manolo Blahnik puts spring into the step with a colorful collection of decorated high heels, flats, and sandals, showcased during London Fashion Week.

For Spring 2014, the Spanish born designer said he was inspired by the Baroque artwork of Tiburzio Baldini, and American turn of the century artist John Sargent.

"I was looking some Baldini paintings of society ladies and things like that and Sargent also too and I realized how wonderful those things they were and I based some of these ideas that I saw on this pictures on that."

Despite designing shoes for four decades, the intimate presentation was Blahnik's debut at London Fashion Week.

The 70-year old shoemaker is among scores of designers showcasing their new collections during the week-long fashion fiesta in London that will wrap up on Tuesday, September 17.
