00:00Hello, this is eSoup aka SpecificSoup. Today I'm doing a hosier reaction. I will remember
00:14from back in the day at this point his song Take Me to Church. I can't believe that's from 11 years
00:20ago. I realized recently that I hadn't heard like a lot of new hosier or really a lot of stuff by
00:26him at all and one of my friends recommended the song Francesca to me um that came out fairly
00:33recently by him I think um and I absolutely am obsessed with that song. I love it so much
00:38and then I found this performance he did with Mavis Staples of the song Nina Cried Power like an
00:44original song they did together and that is just like so incredible and there's a particular
00:49performance of it that's so incredible so I was like wait a minute I need to hear more hosier
00:54and I realized I should do some reactions. It's been a little while since I came to that
01:00conclusion and I've been like oh no I can't listen to new hosier I need to wait I need to wait
01:05um but I was like wait I was gonna do that let me sit down and do this right now so I can finally
01:11listen to some more hosier. So I didn't have a particular song in mind but there is a song from
01:16all the way 10 years ago the work song and I realized I had never heard that so I'm gonna start
01:21with an earlier one. Surprisingly I really I just heard Take Me to Church and I've heard snippets of
01:28songs of his around and I just for some reason I never went down the rabbit hole but he is amazing
01:36especially like Francesca and Nina Cried Power are so shockingly good that I am just like why have I not
01:45been listening to this man. So without further ado this is work song by hosier

03:23Take Me to Church was like 11 years ago so it's a similar era of his sound I don't know if they
03:29were on the same album or not but probably maybe
03:32but this song has like a similar sound to Take Me to Church and I don't mean
03:38oh my god they're so similar like he's not original absolutely not what I mean
03:42but I mean you can tell that he was in that certain era of sound
03:47and when I heard Francesca that's a more recent song
03:51and then Nina Cried Power is from like six years ago so it's kind of in the middle
03:56it's like there are distinct sounds he had at distinct like points in his career
04:01and it's so interesting that I can hear that similarity to Take Me to Church in like the
04:08I don't know instrumental singing choices
04:11so I'll be really curious to compare this to some other newer songs other than Francesca
