00:00Hello, this is E-Soup, aka Specific Soup. I'm doing a reaction to Kelly Clarkson singing
00:07All the Things She Said by Tattoo. This is from her show, she has like a talk show,
00:13and she has a section called Kalioke, where she does covers. And a little while back,
00:18she covered, I think it was Running with the Wolves by Aurora, and I remember her being great
00:25in that cover. But other than that, I don't really know the types of stuff that she usually covers,
00:30and this just happened to be a suggestion for me, and I was like, a song by Tattoo?
00:35Like on Kelly Clarkson's show? I don't know why, it just surprised me as a song choice,
00:41but I'm very curious to see how she will do it. I feel like Tattoo was really big for millennials.
00:47I don't know if like younger people now really know about Tattoo. And I think all the things
00:54she said was probably the song that, like when I was listening, that most people would have heard
01:00first, that got them into Tattoo. But the way I found Tattoo is kind of funny. There was,
01:07I cannot remember what anime it was for, but there was like a BL anime AMV that somebody made
01:14with the song My Chick Gay by Tattoo. And it's a song about like falling in love with a gay man,
01:21and then realizing like, well, he's gay, so he could never be attracted to you. So I just think
01:26it's funny that that's like the way I found Tattoo and not through this song. So for me,
01:31this isn't even one of the more familiar of their songs. It's been a really long time since I actively
01:38listened to them anyway. So the point is, there are probably parts of the song that I kind of
01:43forgot. I just, you know, the actual chorus is very iconic and catchy.
01:48Anyway, I am so curious to see how Kelly does this cover. So without further ado, let's get into it.
01:56I am glad that there's like a backup singer who seems to be singing like the full lines along
02:23with her. For that part, Tattoo had two singers. So it's like, they're both singing. And there's
02:29something about the sound of them singing together in that chorus, especially that like makes up the
02:36core of the song for me. Or like, I don't know, there's just something distinctive about that.
02:41So I'm glad there's a second singer, even though she's not like as prominent in the mix of it.
02:49I'm talking like I actually remember what all the things she said, like studio recording sounds like.
02:55I really don't. So I don't know why I'm saying this. But I'm pretty sure that the way it was in
03:00the original original song is that like both of them were mixed to the same level. So their voices
03:06were together, like they kind of blended together. There wasn't one above the other. But basically,
03:11in this, Kelly Clarkson is still mixed like higher than the backup singer. So it's, there's something
03:19distinctly different sounding about the song, not because of Kelly singing, but simply because of
03:25having one main singer, if that makes any sense. I mean, Kelly singing is really good so far.
03:31I really, like, I don't even remember this part of the song. I think it was just the chorus for me.
03:57Oh, no, she's doing a great job.
04:15Oh, I remember this part.
04:27I don't even, I don't remember this part either. This is, I might as well be hearing the song again
04:44for the first time.
04:57Oh.
05:00By the way, this drummer is great.
05:06Oh.
05:14Oh, wow. Her vocals are great there.
05:36Ooh.
05:43Wow.
05:44Oh, oh, ending like that. Oh, wow. Yeah.
05:49Oh, that's awesome.
05:51Yeah, her band is great.
05:56Oh, oh my God.
06:07Is that why? I was like, what a random, I, like, I don't know if tattoo is, is relevant.
06:15Anymore. I mean, that doesn't mean anything.
06:17But I just mean, like, I was wondering, like, oh, it's interesting song choice. It's because they were
06:22on the Enora soundtrack. That makes so much sense. Okay, so that means that there are going to be
06:27people who hadn't heard of tattoo, like, hearing tattoo now. I was wondering about that. Oh,
06:32I still need to see Enora. That was so cool. I was like, what an interesting song choice. I think she
06:39did a great job, especially, I think, towards the end when it got into the this is not enough
06:45part, because that is where you really can show off vocals in that song. But she just did a great
06:51performance throughout. And I am gonna have to go back to the original song now and listen again
06:57and remind myself what it sounded like, because I thought I had a basic idea. But I slowly realized
07:02that, like, I barely remember anything from the song. It's just like the, like, running through my
07:06head, running through my head. Like, that part, you know, is such an earworm. And the rest of it,
07:11like, it's been so long since I listened to tattoo. But yeah, this was great. And I am gonna have to
07:17see more of her covers. I believe I mentioned she covered Running with the Wolves by Aurora.
07:23And that was that was kind of like also an unexpected cover of hers for me. And she did
07:27a great job with it. So now that I've seen that and this, I mean, I haven't listened to Kelly Clarkson's
07:34like original music in a long time, but she's really, really good. And like, she's always just
07:40had really incredible strong vocals. So I don't know if she's making new music right now. I think that
07:46maybe a few months ago, a new song came out, I might have been intending to react to that. And
07:51I forgot. But yeah, I'm curious. Let me know if you think I should do any reactions to any other
07:56Kalioke covers, or just like any new original songs that I might not have heard. Yeah, there was
08:05definitely one that I was planning on doing a reaction to. And I will try to figure out what that
08:09was and actually do it at some point soon. Please like comment and subscribe. And with that,
08:16this is ESOOP signing out.
