00:00some of boxing's biggest names were front and center on Senco de Mayo weekend and that

00:12became a problem when the fight sucked so let's take a look now at what we can expect from some

00:18of these fighters some of the key fighters from Senco de Mayo weekend in the fights to make coming

00:23off of those bouts uh we begin with the obvious one it is Devin Haney against Ryan Garcia

00:29I do hate rewarding both of them for the performances that they put on in Times Square

00:34on Senco de Mayo weekend but this is clearly the fight that both of them want and they very clearly

00:40are focused on each other so just let them get it out of the way and at least let one of them get a

00:47win um this is I would suggest must win honestly probably must win for both of them when you are

00:53looking at where their careers are at and it's tough to market a fight that way when you have

00:58hey look really get excited about these fights um but one of them probably isn't going to be

01:02relevant again but you look at Haney if he loses this fight that is two losses now to Ryan Garcia

01:08who not a lot of people take super seriously in this sport that's tough even with the situation

01:13uh surrounding the first one that's tough and for Garcia boxing has got a lot better about not just

01:19killing you after a loss but I don't know if we've got to the point where back-to-back losses and it's

01:23oh no do what you want do what you oh it's fine uh so to keep the career on track this would be a

01:29gigantic fight for both of those guys it is just unfortunate that we get to it in the route that we

01:35do um not to be lost in this but uh Roley Romero coming away with the win in the fight against Ryan

01:41Garcia I thought he did what he needed to do to show that he is a high-level fighter and so I think

01:46you put him in there with someone who kind of did the same and that's um Steve Clegett uh shout out

01:50the Calgary kid um but I think that Clegett he gets a high-level opportunity um a little bit ago

01:57and shows that he deserves to be on that stage and now Roley gets the win and and Clegett uh Clegett

02:03didn't but I think that these are both guys who were put in spots basically to have the guy who they

02:10are fighting have a showcase and they both show that they at least belong in that area so let them fight

02:18and let both of them again show the high-level skills that they have and then you have honestly

02:23the hope would be two high-level contenders coming out of it but certainly one coming out of that

02:26with a win uh Teofimo Lopez I have him against uh George Camposus Jr. it is the the one that got

02:33away for Teofimo and I think that this is basically the the only way to go for Lopez right now there

02:40isn't a whole lot left for him at 140 pounds and the big fights aren't all that interested in him

02:46at 147 that they're worried about kind of unifying the belts right now and taking care of that and so

02:52for any of them to accept a fight against a 140 pound title challenge or a title holder it doesn't

02:58really interest a lot of them at least it seems from some of the comments now a lot of that is

03:02negotiating and all of that but I do think that this is at least one box that Teofimo has to check

03:09off before he can move up into a title picture at a different weight class moving on to uh the fights

03:15that happened the next night uh Canelo the only one we want to talk about and again this one's

03:19kind of made for us um I would say uh him against Terrence Crawford again that's the fight that

03:25everyone has been talking about it is the fight that we need it is time for there to be a high-level

03:29guy across from Canelo and we can even if it is a high-level guy who is probably better suited to

03:35weight classes down from him it is time to have just a skilled fighter across from Canelo again

03:39because that this is as someone who has defended him a lot this is a few fights in a row now where

03:45it's getting ridiculous so let's get a pound for pound great in there across from him and for Naoya

03:51in a way the one who didn't disappoint on Cinco de Mayo weekend I have him against Angelo Lee

03:55I think it's time for for in a way to to venture up again now Leo is facing um Tomoki Kameda um I think

04:02that is happening later this month if he gets past that then I think uh in a way getting a title fight

04:07there makes sense he can't just pop up and get him uh an undisputed championship right away

04:11not I don't think any of the belts there are unified um the weight class above so he's gonna

04:16have some work to do but I think it is now time for him to move up and continue on his career and

04:21continue to work his way up the weight classes and add to just a brilliant resume from him so those

04:27are the fights that I want to see coming off of a bit of a bland weekend um a bit of a bland couple

04:33of weeks in the sport of boxing
