00:03 Are we a real threat to the Malays?

00:05 The answer is no.

00:06 But this is all engineered perception over the years,

00:12 historical baggage.

00:14 Do we then say that, okay,

00:16 we accept this and we do nothing?

00:19 No, we have to change the perception.

00:22 The way to change the perception is not overnight.

00:25 The way to change the perception is by having

00:29 a continuous effort to deliver, to perform well.

00:34 That's why I mean, we take certain steps

00:39 to allay the fears.

00:43 Number one, the DAP has been very, very accommodative

00:46 in this government.

00:47 We never ask for a proportional number of cabinet members.

00:54 We know that, okay, certain quarters are playing

00:57 the sentiment that DAP is dominant in the government.

01:00 So we take a back steps.

01:01 We never demand MOF.

01:06 I mean, I hope that the larger population,

01:10 including the Malay community, over time,

01:14 can evaluate us not based on our skin color,

01:17 not based on our political background,

01:19 but based on our performance.
