2 medium sized tomatoes 1 cup dry fruits 1 large onion finely chopped 1/2 tsp mustard seeds 1 tsp turmeric powder 1-2 medium-sized red chillies 1 tsp cumin seeds 1 inch ginger grated 1 tsp garlic chopped 1/2 tsp sambhar masala 6-8 curry leaves 4 cups cooked rice 1-1 1/2 tsp ghee Green chillies Salt & Pepper Cilantro for garnishing
Preparation: Heat the ghee in a saucepan over a medium flame. Put in the mustard seeds. As soon as the seeds start to pop, put in the red chillies, green chillies and diced onions. Add the dry spices, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, garlic, ginger and soaked chana dal. Put in the tomatoes, sambar masala, salt and pepper and mix well. Add the rice and mix well. Add the dry fruits and curry leaves. Remove from the heat. Spread the rice in a shallow vessel.
