An English backpacker who hit and killed a man while riding an e-scooter in Perth's CBD has pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death while under the influence of alcohol.

00:00Alicia Kemp was riding an e-scooter with a passenger when she struck Tarn Fan, who was standing on the footpath at Murray Street, on Saturday night, May the 31st.
00:11The 51-year-old's head hit the pavement. He died in hospital.

00:27Appearing in Perth Magistrates Court via video link from prison, the 25-year-old pleaded guilty to the charge of dangerous driving causing death while under the influence of alcohol.
00:37The charge of dangerous driving causing bodily harm was dropped.
00:40During an earlier hearing, the court was told Kemp was visiting WA from the UK on a working holiday visa.
00:46It was estimated she hit Mr Fan at a speed of up to 25 kilometres, which is about the maximum speed of a rentable scooter.

01:02But she's relieved that one of the charges has been discontinued.
01:06And now she'll just move towards preparing for a sentencing later on in the year for the tragic death.
