00:00We had some other rookie quarterbacks out there,

00:02starting with a Jackson Dart delight

00:06with a really nice touchdown pass through for over 150 yards.

00:11Cam Ward didn't play as much, but 8.4 yards per pass attempt

00:15on a 5-for-8, 67-yard day.

00:18And then we had a lot of work from Tyler Shuck out of New Orleans

00:21who went 15 for 22, 165 yards, a touchdown, and an interception.

00:26Of that trio, Joe, which performance stood out to you the most?

00:30It was Dart.

00:31And we talk about Dart having the ability to be a starting quarterback

00:35and where Brian Dable and the Giants took him,

00:37and to see that performance.

00:39Now, we know that Jackson Dart has those type of performances

00:42from his days at Ole Miss,

00:44but he did struggle on the road in critical spots.

00:47But to see 156 yards through the air,

00:50the one big touchdown to little Jordan Humphrey

00:52who potentially could be a big game starter.

00:54I don't know, I love little Jordan,

00:56but a great performer at Texas.

00:59And then see the performance on the ground,

01:01three rushes, 24 yards, the RPO game.

01:04You say, okay, why not give Jackson Dart the week one job

01:09and let him develop?

01:10The problem is that he's on the Giants,

01:12they have two veteran quarterbacks,

01:14and Brian Dable's job is against the wall

01:16and back is against the wall,

01:17so they have to turn to Russell Wilson.

01:19But if you could channel that over a 17-game season,

01:22take the good, the bad, and the ugly

01:24and get them ready for year number two,

01:26Jackson Dart potentially could be a star in the making.

01:29But I still have concerns.

01:30I want to see it in regular season action.

01:32But that was a dominant performance.

01:35Dart definitely flashed.

01:38I'm getting more and more interested in this Giants team.

01:40We talked about it last week a little.

01:41They're sucking you in.

02:15By the way, I don't have a bye week to week 14.

02:17I mean, it is remarkable

02:20the way that this schedule starts there.

02:22But I thought Dart gave Giants fans

02:24a lot to be excited about.

02:27And to me, I still maintain,

02:29once they drafted Dart,

02:30Brian Dable's job should not be on the line this year.

02:37and then firing their guy after a year.

02:39It's the Caleb stuff.

02:46Now, Iberflue was a defensive guy.

02:49You had no choice but to make that move.

02:52Brian Dable should have at least two more years

02:54on the job with the Giants.

02:56And again, because he got the most out of Daniel Jones

02:58in year number one,

02:59they over-exceeded expectations.

03:01They get the road win over Minnesota.

03:03He made that decision with Joe Shine

03:05to keep Daniel Jones.

03:07That's on Dable.

03:08That's on nobody else.

03:09If he didn't think that Daniel Jones

03:11was the face of the franchise,

03:13they shouldn't have given him

03:14the extra $40 million a year,

03:17moved on from him,

03:18and gotten somebody that could be

03:20the face of the program and the organization.

03:22They chose to ride with Daniel Jones.

03:24That's on Dable and nobody else.

03:27Listen, there's a lot of blame

03:30that can go around.

03:31All I'm saying is,

03:33if you give this group

03:34the chance to draft a round one quarterback,

03:36I'm not firing them after one year.
