00:00only about Ukraine. This war has much bigger perspective, which is Russia to create a so-called
00:07multipolar world and to also challenge NATO, probably in the Baltic states. Russia doesn't
00:14have to use tanks and jets in any of those countries because hybrid activities can accomplish
00:19all of its objectives. So I think it's very important to sometimes zoom out and to see the
00:25big picture, how Putin perceives this war, because with all due respect, the world doesn't revolve
00:31around Washington and Brussels. And sometimes our leaders love to see the world through only
00:37their perspective, because Putin sees this war through very, very different lenses.
00:43And I think that that is the wider concern from several of these nations is that the
00:47Russian president would not stop at Ukraine, of course, continuing to filter on through to those
00:52Baltic states. And then who knows what could happen after that? So detailing some of these demands
00:57from Russia. Now, Ukraine has been responding forcefully throughout the last several years,
01:03not trying to give even an inch to some type of deal that could be on the table. So where does
01:09Ukraine stand right now? What do they want in order to stop this war? President Zelenskyy also wants to
01:17stop this war. But he's right about one thing, which is he wants this deal to be in good faith.
01:22And he understands that this is a typical Putin's games, what Putin is playing right now. He's asking
01:30all those incredible concessions. So basically, that Ukraine says no. And then in the end of a day,
01:36that Ukraine looks bad. So that's the game that Putin is playing right now. My second concern is that
01:44Putin is also buying more time because he fears President Trump's threats when it comes to
01:50sanctions. I'm absolutely pleased that President Trump is using peace through strength and President
01:58Trump understands that words are cheap and that actions speak louder than words. So the very first
02:04fact that he repositioned US nuclear submarines to completely removed Russia's nuclear threat is a
02:14step in the right direction. I'm also very happy to see that President Trump threatened with sanctions,
02:21secondary sanctions, including sanctions on India and other countries that are buying Russian gas and
02:27oil. Because the only way that Putin can continue his imperialistic desires is if we allow him to fuel his
02:36war machine. And that's precisely what President Trump understands very well by stopping sanctions.
02:44And I truly hope that in the coming days or weeks, he's going to follow through on his harsh sanctions on
02:53Russia. And that's the only thing that Putin fears right now. And the third thing that I believe that
02:59President Trump promised and is delivering and will continue to deliver is more weapons to Ukraine,
03:05because Putin not only has to lose when it comes to economy, but also on a battlefield to understand that
03:14he cannot continue with his quest, because I'm quite certain that Washington and President Trump
03:21understand very well, that this war will not end at Ukraine until it stopped. And frankly, we also have
03:29to ask our European allies to do more. Because it is absolutely necessary for the US to take certain steps. But I
03:39would love to see our European allies also to do more. And President Trump is also right to push things in that direction.
03:47You know, President Trump, when he came into office for the second time, one of his major priorities was to end
03:55some of these wars that we have been following, and then specifically this one between Russia and Ukraine. He was very
04:01confident that he would be able to end that very soon after he stepped back into the Oval Office. But talk to me about how the
04:09relationship between President Trump and the Russian president has changed in these last couple of months, given the fact that this war has
04:16not ended, it continues. And we're not really sure exactly what's going to happen going forward.
04:22You're right, that the relationship has actually changed. Because when President Trump came to power, he promised to end this war very soon. And it didn't happen because Putin didn't follow through on his promises. And he was playing Washington
04:39Washington like a fiddle. And President Trump, I think he really understands and sees through Putin's games right now. And he's done with that. And that's precisely why, unlike President Biden, who feared nuclear weapons, President Trump now removed even that threat from from the negotiation table.
05:01President Trump, I, I just, I would just love to see Washington understanding even more Putin and and and and and his desire because he is a former KGB guy, he doesn't think like us, he doesn't process information like us. He his game is very different is based on deception. And here in the US, we love to always talk about cooperation and win win.
05:26The Kremlin thinks in very different terms. You have to lose, I have to win. That's the only game like a zero sum game that Putin is willing to play. And we should not allow that. And Putin fears President Trump's because President Trump's actions speak louder than his words. So I don't know if this war is going to end anytime soon. I'm not very hopeful about that. And I do believe that Putin is just
05:56buying, buying, buying, buying more time to reposition his military, and then to continue with his quest. And it's precisely why giving any of those concessions would be a dream come true for Putin, because he would use that time to replenish his military to strengthen his economy, and to continue.
06:18Well, Ivana, I'm glad that you mentioned that about President Putin trying to buy more time. It's a sentiment that we have heard from others that have followed this war very closely. And again, another concern given that we haven't had a deal or a serious kind of ceasefire there in place, at least for an extended amount of time. Is there anything else that you would like to add, especially ahead of this high stakes meeting that everybody is really
06:48that there is? There is some skepticism, not too much optimism with this entire war?
