Brighton 2-1 Wolfsburg - View from the pressbox
Transcript
00:00Hello, this is Sam Morton at Sussex World. I've just watched Brighton beat Wolfsburg 2-1 at the Amex.
00:06It was the last pre-season friendly before the Premier League campaign gets underway.
00:11And it was an entertaining game and Brighton did look very good going forward once again with a pretty much full strength team
00:18barring Carlos Buleba who was once again missing amid the link to Manchester United.
00:23But we understand that he's not for sale and the reason he was missing today was due to a knee injury that he picked up.
00:30In the training camp in Marbella.
00:32So that was a topic of conversation that dominated the agenda leading into the match.
00:38But it was Jorginho Rutter that scored the opening goal with a brilliant finish from a tight angle.
00:45And Wolfsburg had a number of chances actually.
00:47Bartholomew was back from injury and he put in a great performance, made some brilliant saves to keep Brighton ahead.
00:53And they actually added to their lead in the second half through new signing Maxime Ducuypa.
00:58He's really impressed in pre-season and he once again showed his attacking prowess and was in the right place at the right time to make it 2-0.
01:08But Wolfsburg got the goal that was the least they deserved really for the attacking play that they had.
01:12And it was a one to forget for Bruggan who kind of let a low driven shot go underneath him.
01:17And it was a rare blemish on an otherwise really impressive performance from Bruggan.
01:22So to see all of our play ratings and match reaction and all the latest with Carlos Belaver and other transfer rumours.
