A three-storey block of flats in Herringthorpe are set to be judged by Rotherham Council's planning board again, after they were constructed without adequate planning permission.
Transcript
00:00Behind me are a block of flats that have been embroiled in multiple years of debate by Rosarum Council's planning department.
00:06The three-storey structure, containing nine flats, was refused retrospective planning permission when an application was put forward in 2023.
00:14At the time, the planning committee said that the building intruded on neighbouring property's privacy and hadn't adequately communicated sewage system plans with Yorkshire Water.
00:23Now, in 2025, another application for retrospective permission has been put forward, with the applicant detailing a list of changes to be made.
00:31However, locals still don't seem delighted with the decision, putting forward a number of objections.
00:36One objector wrote on their website,
00:38The application is an attempt to legitimise a structure that has already caused significant disruption, distress and deterioration to the local area.
