00:03Are you nervous about your challenge?
00:05It's the last one before New York Fashion Week!
00:07Yes!
00:08Welcome to Austin, Texas!
00:10For this challenge you're going to create a high fashion look inspired by Austin.
00:15Dried mealworms, yes!
00:18You will be creating a second look.
00:20What are they trying to do to us?
00:22I am freaking out because at this point in time I have nothing.
00:25I have to hurry up.
00:30What an extraordinary dress.
00:33It's really beautiful.
00:34It has a fairytale quality.
00:35Barbara, congratulations.
00:37You are the winner of this challenge.
00:38You'll be going to New York Fashion Week.
00:40Yes!
00:41Erin, you're moving to New York Fashion Week.
00:43Laurence, you will be showing at New York Fashion Week.
00:46Thank you so much.
00:47Rick, you are moving forward to New York Fashion Week.
00:51Cornelius, you're out.
01:00Hello, designers.
01:01Hello.
01:02The final four.
01:03Oh, final four, final four, final four, final four.
01:17The four of you have six weeks before you will be back here in New York to show your collections
01:22to our judges.
01:23So you have a lot of work to do.
01:25And we will be giving each of you $9,000 to create a 10-look collection.
01:30I wish all of you good luck.
01:31Mwah!
01:32Bye-bye!
01:33Bye!
01:34Bye!
01:37I'm headed out to see how the designers are doing on their collections.
01:40First, I'm in Los Angeles to check in with Laurence.
01:46Hello.
01:47Laurence!
01:48How are you?
01:49How are you?
01:50How are you?
01:51I'm thrilled to see you.
01:52Thank you so much.
01:53Well, I'm eager to hear how you're doing and what you're doing and to hear all about
01:59everything.
02:00Well, I'm doing great.
02:01The story of my collection, basically, it's the story of my life.
02:05I always say I always fall, but I don't ever hit the floor.
02:08Something always catches me.
02:09So I wanted to make a collection that would start dark and finish with light.
02:14I'd love to walk through the collection with you.
02:16Yeah.
02:17So, I mean, this is 60% of it.
02:20Okay, okay.
02:21And I have no black.
02:23What?
02:24No.
02:25Not even a piece of jewelry, not a pair of shoes.
02:28Nothing black.
02:29A conscious decision?
02:30Yeah.
02:31So, this is my black.
02:32That's my army green color that I have.
02:35So, this is the first piece, maybe.
02:38It's gonna go lighter and lighter.
02:39So, then I have this little, I call it sac poubelle.
02:42What does that mean?
02:43Sac poubelle is a garbage bag.
02:45Oh.
02:46Yeah.
02:47I think this will be next, which is a tailored short sleeve jacket with this little pants
02:54that I love.
02:55Beautiful.
02:56And then I have this little silk thing that I'm working on.
03:01This is spectacular.
03:02The back is open.
03:03Spectacular.
03:05When I'm done with this, I should have seven looks, I think.
03:09Okay.
03:10Do you have a vision?
03:11Yes.
03:12For the remaining looks?
03:13So, the rest of it is white.
03:14Oh.
03:15Yes.
03:16So, it's just, you know, a message that there's always light at the end of the tunnel.
03:20Well, listen, I'm wildly enthusiastic about this.
03:24I'd just say carry on.
03:26I just have to finish this.
03:27And you will.
03:28Yeah.
03:29I have every confidence.
03:30I'm not even remotely concerned.
03:32Mm-hmm.
03:33I just know that I'm not gonna sleep for the next four days, but it's okay.
03:37So, Victoria and Marley are here?
03:40Oh, yes, they're here.
03:41I would love to meet your son, Marley.
03:43I'm sure he's gonna tell you something about cars.
03:45I design clothes, but I'm also a single mom.
03:49So, thank God I have my big baby that's taking care of my little baby.
03:53Ah, hi.
03:54Hello, you.
03:55Hi.
03:56How are you, Victoria?
03:57Lovely to see you.
03:58Again.
03:59Hi, Mommy.
04:00Hi, Marley.
04:01Hi.
04:02How are you?
04:03I'm Tim.
04:04Nice to see you.
04:05Marley, what's your favorite part about school?
04:07When I draw.
04:08What do you like to draw?
04:09Mostly cars.
04:11Of course cars.
04:12How have you been?
04:13Good, good.
04:14How do you feel about your mom going to New York Fashion Week?
04:17It's like a dream come true.
04:18New York Fashion Week is a huge deal.
04:21This is like the ultimate thing that I wanted to do as a designer.
04:24Thank you so much Tim.
04:25Bye.
04:26I'm so...
04:27Bye.
04:28Bye-bye.
04:29Next, I'm going to check in on Rick.
04:30Also in Los Angeles.
04:31Rick.
04:32Tim.
04:33How are you?
04:34Pretty good.
04:35How's it going?
04:36Great to see you.
04:37Nice to see you.
04:38Pleasure.
04:39Delia, how are you?
04:40Hi, how are you?
04:41So lovely to see you again.
04:42Hi, I'm Tim.
04:43Myra.
04:44Hi, Myra.
04:45Nice to see you too.
04:46Thank you very much.
04:47We're bowling?
04:48We're bowling today.
04:49Great.
04:50Myra, you're exceptionally well dressed for bowling.
04:52You're dressed for bowling too.
04:53So how have you been?
04:54Great.
04:55Fantastic.
04:56I've been super busy, but excited.
04:57He's one of four finalists.
04:58Yes.
04:59I mean, how are you feeling about all of this?
05:00I'm nervous.
05:01I'm excited, but I'm very happy that he's there.
05:03He's there.
05:04He's there.
05:05He's there.
05:06I'm excited.
05:07But I'm excited.
05:08He's there.
05:09I'm excited.
05:10And I'm excited.
05:11And I'm excited to see you again.
05:13How are you?
05:14Hi, how are you?
05:15Hi, how are you?
05:16Hi, how are you?
05:17Hi, how are you?
05:18Hi, how are you?
05:19Hi, how are you?
05:20I'm excited, but I'm very happy that he's there.
05:22And he will win.
05:23That's the right spirit.
05:24Yes.
05:25Look where you are now.
05:26I know.
05:27It's crazy.
05:28Let's bowl.
05:29We're up first, Tim.
05:30Okay, we'll see what happens here.
05:32There you go.
05:40Yikes, that was an awful noise.
05:43Oh, my God.
05:45I'm not humiliated.
05:47I'm not humiliated.
05:48I'm not humiliated.
05:49I know.
05:50Oh, my.
05:51Oh, my.
05:52Whoa.
05:53Wow.
06:02Oh, God.
06:03Look at the shocked look on my face.
06:04Just think, at my age, I'm becoming a jock.
06:07Bye.
06:08Happy bowling.
06:10Bye-bye.
06:11I can't wait to see your collection.
06:12Let's go.
06:13Good heavens.
06:14Yes, enormous up here.
06:15What a spectacular space.
06:17So, take me on a tour.
06:18So, I basically will start off, I guess, about, like, what I was inspired by.
06:23I think I just liked this whole kind of Sergeant Pepper type deal that's going on.
06:28So, this is a trench coat.
06:29So, what is the print?
06:30So, it's basically this was the print that we engineered.
06:32I was inspired by this Paisley print on denim.
06:33I know I really wanted to kind of mix this classic denim embroidery from the 70s, but bringing
06:47it to 2016.
06:48I'm also doing some cool glasses.
06:51How are you feeling about everything?
06:53I was a little nervous about not being so cohesive, but I feel with the styling, hair and makeup,
07:00the accessories, I think it would be cohesive.
07:03Really?
07:04I see at least three collections here.
07:11I fundamentally don't understand any of the leather with this.
07:16Okay.
07:17I really don't understand this.
07:19Okay.
07:20And this, I don't get it in this context and capacity.
07:25I just don't get it.
07:26New York Fashion Week is right around the corner.
07:28I have so much work to do.
07:30I'm definitely feeling the pressure.
07:31I'll see you back in New York.
07:32Definitely.
07:33Thank you, Tim.
07:34All right, Wink.
07:37Alrighty.
07:44Next, I'm going to check in on Aaron in Boston.
07:46I just graduated from Mass Art just in May.
07:49So I connected with the fashion department and I asked if I could use this space to create
07:54this collection.
07:55Aaron, I hear you're in here.
07:57And you are.
07:58Hi, Aaron.
07:59How are you?
08:00Oh, you're here.
08:01So tell me how you are.
08:04I'm doing really good.
08:06How have you felt about not having the project run by pressures of time?
08:09I work and develop things like differently.
08:11So like I've just been like mainly building a lot of like texture and like creating my own
08:15like materials.
08:16Uh-huh.
08:17So I don't have like a full garment.
08:19You don't have a full garment today?
08:21Uh-uh.
08:24You really have a project runway moment here.
08:26I do.
08:27You have 10 days before you have to send the collection and you have 10 looks to do.
08:32You basically have one look a day.
08:34I am definitely like really nervous.
08:36Right now I'm just like I've got a lot of it done in my head and now it's just about executing it.
08:40Okay.
08:41I want to see.
08:42Yeah.
08:43So I just like really love like fun, positive vibes.
08:47So like that's why like I'm just going to go for like bright colors.
08:49Like a lot of my stuff is inspired by like my friends.
08:51So here's, um, I have like my drawings out.
08:53So it's like I have like dot mapped out and I have this like print that my friend and I came up with.
08:59So I had her paint characters that represent my friends, but like you wouldn't know it because they're just like little creatures.
09:06I'm like really into just creating my own textiles or textures.
09:10I think that that gives like someone a very special identity.
09:13You're breaking a lot of rules with this collection.
09:15A lot.
09:19And quite frankly I'm applauding it.
09:22Oh God.
09:23I'm really on board and I believe.
09:26I think it's going to be fun.
09:27Yeah.
09:28So I really want to introduce you to like really important people in my life.
09:31I'd love to meet them.
09:32Let's go.
09:34All right.
09:35Goodbye collection.
09:36Yeah.
09:40All right.
09:41I'm taking Tim to lunch today to meet up with my mom and also my first mentor and four of my best friends.
09:48Oh my God.
09:49Tim.
09:50Look, we made you some chalk art.
09:52Good heavens.
09:53Yeah.
09:54Well, it's a frighteningly realistic rendering.
09:59Let me tell you.
10:01Hi, Whitney.
10:02Hello.
10:03I'm going to slide in.
10:06Hi, everyone.
10:07Hello.
10:08Hello.
10:09Welcome.
10:10So please make introductions.
10:11Yeah.
10:12So this is Portia.
10:13Hi, Tim.
10:14Very nice.
10:15So when I moved to Boston, I was just a little nugget.
10:18And I worked with Dr. Portia at Harvard Dental School.
10:21She's a pediatric dentist.
10:22I also did research with her.
10:23Oh.
10:24But she was like my first mentor.
10:25Portia was like the eye opener for me to kind of just be like, wait, Aaron, you have potential.
10:31You're not stupid.
10:32And I was like, I'm not.
10:33I was so impressed with her work ethic, first of all.
10:36Yes.
10:37And she's super creative.
10:39And she told me she wanted to be a dental hygienist at the time.
10:44But knowing her, I tried to say that you were so talented.
10:48Maybe think about fashion or creating artistic things.
10:52Aaron's lucky to have you.
10:53Seriously.
10:54I hate to tell you this.
10:56You almost drove me to a mental hospital.
11:00She was always so last minute.
11:03I know.
11:04You do know.
11:05We know her time.
11:07Whitney, has Aaron always been like this?
11:09Yes.
11:11Since a toddler.
11:12Yes.
11:13She wouldn't even like be born on time.
11:15Oh yeah, I came in.
11:16Did you know that?
11:17I was in the womb for 10 months.
11:18I'm not coming out.
11:19Yeah.
11:20You weren't ready.
11:21I wasn't ready.
11:22I was still working on my textiles.
11:26I am so thrilled to have spent this time with all of you.
11:28Yes.
11:29And it's been a huge amount of fun.
11:30Yes.
11:31And Whitney, I'll see you at Fashion Week.
11:33Yes.
11:34Definitely.
11:35I mean, I'm definitely nervous.
11:36I basically need to make a look a day.
11:37Bye, Tim.
11:38Bye.
11:39I'll see you soon.
11:40I'm not quite sure exactly how everything's going to happen.
11:43But for sure, it will be done.
11:45See you on the runway.
11:46Yes.
11:47See you on the runway.
11:48Yes.
11:49See you on the runway.
11:54How phenomenal.
11:55You can't be anywhere else but New York.
11:57Statue of Liberty.
11:59Have a seat.
12:01Beautiful.
12:02Beautiful.
12:03So, I'm so happy your home visit is here in New York.
12:06But if you weren't here, you would be in Venezuela, yes?
12:10In Caracas, yes.
12:11So, I would like to know why it is you are here.
12:14Right now, there are so many problems socially.
12:19There's food shortage, no medicines, and a lot of violence.
12:24And people like me, young people, doesn't get to have a future.
12:29But I have hope.
12:31Getting rid of your life, at the beginning, it might look like a sacrifice, but it allows
12:36me to be here and having the possibility to be the winner of Project Runway.
12:41Let's take our coffee and your camera.
12:43Yes.
12:44And get back to your studio.
12:45I'd love to have you walk me through the collection.
12:48Yes.
12:51Please, come in.
12:52All right.
12:53Where do you want to start?
12:54Well, I'm going to start with some of my inspiration.
12:59Okay.
13:00I start seeing my girl going to different places to find something wonderful, and I'm
13:06using this as a whole idea.
13:08So, here I have, for my first look, is a cotton wax jacket.
13:13Mm-hmm.
13:14I wanted to develop the pattern of the jacket very traditionally, and also I wanted to make
13:20it modern.
13:21Okay.
13:22For my second look, there is an alpaca sweater.
13:25Mm-hmm.
13:26I want to make a collection made of different pieces, from different moments, from different
13:32places, because that's what I am right now.
13:36And I have this skirt, with this fabric, with a sweater, but in a different material on
13:41top of that.
13:42Are there too many ideas here?
13:44It's too much.
13:45I just want to encourage you to think about it.
13:50I'm happy to be in New York City.
14:00It's just exciting.
14:01Fashion Week is here.
14:03Everything's at stake in this competition to win the $100,000.
14:07I definitely want to win this.
14:09I'm back.
14:10The pressure has not let off, and it still needs work, but, like, where it's at right
14:14now is in such an amazing spot.
14:16Amazing.
14:17Come in.
14:18Come on.
14:19Okay.
14:20The game's on.
14:21Let's do this.
14:22I've been dreaming about New York Fashion Week for a long time.
14:29Who is it?
14:30Somebody.
14:31It's just the ultimate thing, as a designer, that I've always wanted.
14:35I'm so excited to see everybody again.
14:38No one's been able to understand the kind of stress that I'm going through except them,
14:42so it feels really good.
14:43How's the collection?
14:44The collection is the collection.
14:49I'm very excited to be here.
14:51This is amazing!
14:52I'm really looking forward to see the other designers again.
15:09We're back, y'all.
15:11Oh, my God.
15:12It's so cute and organized.
15:14I'm super pumped to be back in the workroom, getting back to work.
15:17I feel like I never left.
15:18Like, this is my home.
15:20I think we all kind of had stories behind our collections.
15:23Mine was inspired by the 60s.
15:24There was lots of color, lots of prints.
15:26Very punk rock, slightly hip-hop.
15:28It's definitely who I am.
15:29I'm like, now I realize how much work I still have to do.
15:34I am so blessed right now.
15:36I'm so happy.
15:37With the collection I produced, I went all the way back to the time I was 16 years old.
15:40And how I used to dress and how I dress now.
15:42So I mixed up a little bit of everything.
15:44It's unreal.
15:46I'm not in fashion to make something cool and trendy.
15:52But if you connect with people's emotion, you have something relevant.
15:57No.
15:58Of course I want to win Project Runway.
16:00I do feel like I have a really good chance at winning this because I think my collection
16:04is really, really special.
16:06Isn't anyone going to say hello to me?
16:16Good morning.
16:17Good morning, Tim.
16:19You're the final four of season 15.
16:22How exciting is this?
16:23Super exciting.
16:24So, you will present a preview of three looks to the judges tomorrow.
16:30Okay.
16:31You need to be very strategic in determining which three looks those are.
16:37It's a tease, it's a fashion amuse-bouche, so to speak.
16:44As our final four, it really is the case that you are a brand.
16:49In the spirit of that, you are going to use the Brother Dream Machine to present a logo to the judges tomorrow.
16:56You will have your Mary Kay makeup consultations with Luis, and I will be back later to check in with you.
17:03I can't wait to see what you all have done since I last saw you.
17:07See you later.
17:12I'm going to use my initials and just design a logo that is couture-minded and timeless.
17:19I'm creating my little graphic logo that is kind of like my signature and it represents me as a designer.
17:28I was kind of like, well, if I do like a handwritten name, it will look kind of cool.
17:31I don't want to take myself too seriously because that's not who I am.
17:34Well, I'm very worried because my logo is typography.
17:39It's like the print challenge all over again.
17:41Ah, God.
17:42Hi, everyone.
17:44Hello, Tim.
17:45I'm eager to see what three looks you've selected.
17:48For Barry.
17:49Hello, Tim.
17:50So what are your thoughts about tomorrow and the three looks that you want to present?
17:52These three looks hold the whole spirit of the collection without showing the whole collection.
17:59When I saw you, I told you that there were a lot of textiles and there was a lot going on.
18:05I kept thinking about that and I made the decision to try to keep the whole idea of the mismatch and the whole combination of different textiles.
18:17Because it was part of the narrative of the collection.
18:22How are you going to respond if the judges ask you about the seven remaining looks and whether there's cohesion?
18:30There's one thing through the collection, the color and the shape.
18:35It's what interweaves the whole collection.
18:38There are a lot of different textiles and a lot of color, if you ask me.
18:43Hi, Tim.
18:44So talk to me.
18:45Why these three?
18:46This one goes with the green pants.
18:48Mm-hmm.
18:49This one, I'm hesitating between this and the jumpsuit.
18:52I know you're doing a riff on the overall, but these are so similar.
18:57Would you want to show them both?
18:58That's why I'm thinking I need to scratch one.
19:01I have to tell you, it's such a surprise.
19:03The whole collection is a surprise in many ways.
19:06Yeah, you're right.
19:08Rick, there's a lot of work that's been done.
19:11So much work.
19:12Yeah.
19:13For tomorrow, I'm actually thinking these three looks.
19:15So we have like a little jumper and we just added lots more of the hand embroidery.
19:19This was one of the leather pieces, I think that you just only see the muslin.
19:22It's beautifully done.
19:23This was just an extended motor jacket.
19:25Mm-hmm.
19:26I wanted to do just like the bikini top underneath.
19:28Oh, okay.
19:29So we do get the black and white print.
19:30Mm-hmm.
19:31I never know what the judges are going to say.
19:32Mm-hmm.
19:33I would like them to be able to see the black and white.
19:36What are your own thoughts?
19:37I'm probably going to go back to my initial plan, which was showing this full look.
19:41Good.
19:42Because then it's three parts of the collection.
19:44Right.
19:45All shown and we'll see what they say.
19:46Thank you, Rick.
19:47Thank you, Tim.
19:48Hi, Erin.
19:49Hello, Tim.
19:50Work has been done.
19:51Yeah, there's actually clothes.
19:52So talk to me.
19:53I want to give them a section of the collection that would make sense as far as color techniques
19:59and silhouettes.
20:00So I thought this would be good because I could like show like the pink hues of the print
20:04in this one and then kind of like the rusty and the blue hues of this print.
20:07Oh, I see with the skirt.
20:08Mm-hmm.
20:09Yeah.
20:10So this is the weaving that was supposed to be a dress, but then when it came off the loom
20:13it shrunk.
20:14This looks so much more like you.
20:16Yeah.
20:17Carry on.
20:18Thank you, Tim.
20:19Thank you, Erin.
20:20I'm very appreciative of your allowing me to check in about these three looks.
20:25Your models will be in later for a fitting and I know that you'll use your time well.
20:29You're our final four.
20:32See you tomorrow.
20:33I'll make you tomorrow.
20:34I'll make you tomorrow.
20:40Long time, no.
20:42So excited.
20:43Is this the font?
20:44Actually, no.
20:45Sorry, that's the back.
20:46The model is thinner than the dress form, but I'm so glad to have this chance to test
20:53and to reward something so important.
20:56Hey.
20:57Hey.
20:58I love that glittery eye.
20:59Right.
21:00So I kind of just want to do that.
21:01So this is not glitter, but it'll give you that effect.
21:04Similar to her skin tone, but gives it that like shimmer pop.
21:06Yeah.
21:07That little bit of pop.
21:08Cheek-wise, take this powder and go like this.
21:10Go like underneath.
21:11And then you just press it.
21:12Oh, wow.
21:13Yeah.
21:14Just like that.
21:15Gives you that perfect sort of shape there.
21:17Yeah.
21:18That sounds unreal.
21:19My collection is what happens when you start a journey.
21:22I want it to feel believable.
21:24Like something that a woman could actually do herself.
21:27I want my collection to feel fresh and young.
21:30We have these new Pure Dimension palettes.
21:34It's gorgeous.
21:36And then we'll give you a little bit of that glimmer that you like.
21:40That's amazing.
21:41Gorgeous, right?
21:42Bonjour.
21:43I kind of like pretty mannequin look.
21:45Not so much makeup, a lot of contouring.
21:48This is a mineral powder foundation.
21:50See, we start to give her that cheekbone that you like.
21:55And this is called Pure Dimensions.
21:58This has a shade for her.
22:00I'm so happy and excited.
22:02My inspiration was just basically like the swinging 60s.
22:05Mary Kay just released a new liquid eyeliner pin.
22:10So it gives you that 60s old big eye.
22:13That's how we do a makeup console.
22:15That's so good.
22:16Yay!
22:17Today we have to show the three looks that represent us and represent the collection.
22:35The preview show is really important because we get the judges critique and then we get to go back and work on it.
22:41And I think that that's cooler than any other runway.
22:46Good morning, everyone.
22:47How are you?
22:48Good, how are you?
22:49Where's Rick?
22:50Rick, can I steal you out of the brother sewing room for a minute, please?
22:53Designers, here's the lay of the land for the morning.
22:56Your models will be in soon.
22:58You will have 30 minutes with them.
23:00Okay.
23:01Then they're going to the Sally Beauty Studio for hair and the Mary Kay Color Design Studio for makeup.
23:06Then they will return to you for another 30 minutes.
23:09And then we're going to our presentation to the judges, alright?
23:13Cool.
23:14And the Just Fab Accessories wall is here for you.
23:17Use it thoughtfully, alright?
23:19Alright, thank you.
23:21I will see you soon and your models will be in very shortly.
23:22Thank you, everyone.
23:23Thank you, Tim.
23:24Thank you, Tim.
23:32Hey.
23:35Hey, Mama.
23:39Hold it here.
23:40Let's see.
23:41My collection is a little bit more rock and roll, a little more street, and it's new.
23:48So I definitely was thinking maybe something a little off the shoulders.
23:51So maybe we could do like some definition of her curl.
23:54Use a little like glossing cream to bring a brilliance to it and a cool chignon in the back.
23:59I love that.
24:00Easy breezy.
24:01Hair in the back.
24:02Hair in the back.
24:03Nice and sleek.
24:04Maybe like wet look.
24:05So maybe some brilliant shine cream, some illuminating pomade.
24:09Some mousse would be a great foundation.
24:11And then really cool incorporated chignon in the back.
24:14Mm-hmm.
24:15We're Sally Beauty.
24:16We'll always make it beautiful.
24:18Can you make it contrasty?
24:20One that would look beautiful on her would be this purple.
24:24And then we'll do silver here.
24:26Then we'll give her a little shea butter balm.
24:28And then we'll make sure that you get that blingy bling.
24:31And then of course we'll do the perfect skin.
24:33Perfection.
24:34Perfection.
24:35We'll do a base.
24:36This is called metallic taupe.
24:39And then we'll do precious pink on top to give it that bling.
24:44Pink that, yeah.
24:45And we're gonna give you some perfect brows as well.
24:49Thanks a lot.
24:50Yes.
24:51Can you walk with it?
24:53I just wanna see if it's...
24:55Winning this competition would definitely change my life.
24:58I would love to help my kids to have a better life.
25:01Not have to worry about that we had to worry about.
25:03Designers and models for going down to the runway.
25:06Come with me everyone.
25:07Let's go.
25:08I definitely want to win Project Runway.
25:11You think about how different it's going to be your life.
25:14So I'm giving everything to this.
25:17Alright.
25:18Fine.
25:27Hi guys.
25:28Hi.
25:29I'm guessing you didn't expect me to pop up here, did you?
25:33Nope.
25:34Well, I had to be in Los Angeles this week because I'm doing a live show today so I couldn't change that.
25:40But thankfully we have technology nowadays so I can be with you no matter what.
25:46Now because I can't be there in person I asked a friend to help me out today.
25:50Ooh.
25:51So come on out.
25:52Who's that?
25:53Who's that?

26:19Oh, thank you.
26:21Good to be home.
26:22Congratulations for making it this far.
26:23It's not easy.
26:24I know it.
26:28Well, Michael, since you are standing where I normally am standing, why don't you take
26:30it away?
26:31Of course.

26:58Good.
26:59Good.
27:00How was that?
27:01Not too bad, Michael.
27:02But I take it from here.
27:03The good news for you is that all of you are going to show at New York Fashion Week.
27:06Yes.
27:07And one of you will be the winner of Project Runway.
27:08Okay.
27:09Here's how it works.
27:10Each of you is going to show us three of your looks today.
27:13It's kind of like a little preview.
27:14We will give you feedback before your big show.
27:17And don't think because I am in Los Angeles I can't see anything because I can see everything,
27:23whatever the judges are seeing right there I can see from right here as long
27:27as no one unplugs me if I don't agree with you I'm gonna unplug you all right
27:35let's say hello to our judges first we have creative director of Brooks Brothers
27:38women Zack Posen my designers creative director for Marie Claire magazine Nina
27:45Garcia welcome back guys and we have the wonderful Michael course here to help us
27:51out also we have Tim gun here for the runway show hey Michael can you lug me
27:59of this runway all right let's start the show see my preview it's amazing it looks
28:17beautiful it looks well-made it looks really cool with like the sheerness
28:29I feel excited because I really wanted to make a lot of ideas I really love these
28:40silhouettes aero deafness
28:52it's very difficult to say what the judges are thinking because they are very
28:58composed I'm pretty much excited to see what the judges have to say
29:04the three pieces that I chose definitely represent me the vibe of my collection I'm
29:19definitely like a little bit more playful and whimsical I would wear that seeing the pink dress and
29:31thinking about my other looks I'm like oh my god like those look so dope I'm feeling like there is
29:39something that needs to be tweaked but I don't know what it is
29:42I love seeing the paillette dress sparkle I realize they need to fix the hemline because I haven't seen it from this angle I love seeing the shimmer of the shoes and the skirt looked awesome with the buttons
30:00did you have to paint the shoes too much too it's a pretty good job I'm feeling good but I know that there's definitely gonna be something that needs to change
30:20when I see my looks come down the runway I feel confident my preview collection represents me as a designer
30:30I have no idea how the judges are taking it I'm don't really look at them I'll find out after
30:44the pants are tight but at this point I can't do anything hopefully they don't see it
30:48you put every single pearl by hand yeah and I'm not done I am very happy with the looks that I've chosen I wouldn't change a thing
31:18the glasses look really really cool the leggings I'm kind of second-guessing those I think you know she does need to be a little bit more sexy
31:31it's really sick
31:36as I see my looks coming down the runway I'm extremely happy that I came up with these things
31:43I also incorporated a little leather bag
31:48the jumpsuit I think it is a little baggy still I should have lost the belt
31:59I'm feeling really good about this preview show everything seems to be tying in very very well together
32:04well designers it looks like we're going to have a great finale runway show good job judges are you ready for some feedback
32:25okay Rick we're going to talk to you first so let's bring out your models
32:35well Rick why don't you tell us about your looks and how they represent you for this collection
32:37I was inspired by the 60s down to the twiggy movement all the way up to like the sergeant pepper with this first look I actually created the print within the middle look there's a couple pieces within the collection that play with optical illusion with the leather work so of course we have like the little arrows here that create almost like a bow and for my third look it is denim printed on denim
32:59I think that you need to like raise the octane oh okay these are fun pieces very eclectic and I think with the denim look I would try maybe like opening it up it's always nice to show a little skin of course I think you have a very good hand with leather I think the leather dress is great thank you I love that dress in the middle
33:09you want to dance on a table in that dress I mean it's great I think the glasses are freaky but grey it's a good thing you have to many messages right now so you really have to edit that down and make it
33:14you know skin course i think you have a very good hand with leather i think the leather dress is
33:20great thank you i love that dress in the middle yeah you want to dance on a table in that dress
33:25i mean it's great i think the glasses are freaky but great and it's a fashion show so i think
33:31freaky but great's a good thing you have too many messages right now so you really have to edit that
33:37down and make it cohesive i think less is more with you yes completely the most simple dress is your
33:46most successful dress so keep it streamlined cohesion cohesion cohesion i think that is your
33:55main thing rick i know that you can do this you have a lot of work to do but you can make it work
34:01yes aaron why don't you tell us about your collection so this piece right here is a neoprene
34:08with laser cut glitter plexiglass and then this is a digital print that i collaborated with my friend
34:14and printed it on creptochine and also i made the bag as well the last look is hand woven sleeves
34:21with a wool top and a leather skirt and i made the buttons too well the neoprene dress is adorable
34:28thank you i like the attitude of her i just think she looks fresh and cool i hate the bag
34:35i think it's just silly i think aaron there's an odd man out here this middle girl is really coming
34:43out of left field because i haven't seen anything like this in the entire season from you i think
34:49what's important when i see this is that you have the sparkle in every look because the one look that
34:55doesn't have some twinkle and sparkle in it is going to be flat you work very well with color
35:03you work very well with ornamentation just work with your strengths that's what we want to see
35:10thank you aaron laurence tell us about your looks and how they represent your collection
35:15okay so i decided to use my life as inspiration from the time i was 16 till now the collection is about
35:22finding light and darkness so i played with colors and different styles still dressing the same woman
35:29but in different times of her life i feel like you guys all have the same problem cohesion what do you
35:35think michael this is a full schizophrenic moment again okay the two girls on the left are in the same
35:43world there's some sense of tailoring i do think that the pearl encrusted top is fabulous thank you and then
35:51all of the sudden i get to her heidi it's a little bit like we're in germany at the beer garden
36:03oh my gosh you know pull the stein up and say oh yeah i mean it's linen and which looks very casual and
36:12very relaxed your girls always aren't cool they have this i don't know what and to me the makeup
36:21here is so severe that it almost becomes dated okay to you michael you know the green romper looks a
36:28little bavarian but to me this is almost the freshest thing on the runway from laurence today
36:33i'm the one in the middle i'm thinking of the 80s or the 90s in a weird way with the belly button
36:37showing i do kind of think the top on the left is cool you know with all the stats because i love
36:43the back boom i mean that looks really cool but then how would that tie in with the rest so i'm
36:49really i don't know how you're going to make this work i'll make it work i think you're so talented
36:54five years on the show the best tailor i've seen thank you i agree with you heidi i'm not necessarily
36:59getting bavaria i think that balances the crispness of your tailoring okay if anyone can make this work
37:07you can i will roberi why don't you tell us about your three looks and how they will present
37:13your collection for this collection i got inspired by travel and the inner journeys i think there's
37:22a very kind of fun interesting balance between this kind of my little pony pink reflective fabric
37:28and the more earthy matte fabrics i like that balance there the only thing that's really standing
37:34out for me is is the middle skirt i think that the kind of reflective trash bag chic it doesn't feel
37:41very polished where is the excitement that is my main problem here you have to sex it up a little bit
37:48they all look a little dowdy to me okay they're all a little buttoned up he's he likes he's into like
37:54the nerdy or daddy or girl and i like it i don't think everyone wants to feel sexed up not to throw the
37:59curveball in i love the way she looks head to toe she has this interesting texture mix the fabric's
38:07manipulated well i don't think you have to sex it i think something's got to juice it just a little
38:14like that this last outfit you don't have anything there no yours looks more cohesive than everyone
38:22else's but the more i stare at it the less the less cohesive it gets yeah once you pick it apart it
38:28doesn't cut it but there's something impeccable here so and you want to make sure that's what you
38:33show show your strength doesn't need to be sexy i know what you're trying to escape i understand i'm
38:42from the same hemisphere thank you or barry thank you model so you can leave the runway
38:48the winner of project runway will receive 100 000 to launch their line a year's supply of sally beauty
39:01products along with 25 000 in cash travel and hotel accommodations to inspiring destinations around the

39:18complete sewing and crafting studio from brothers sewing and embroidery and the winning designer and
39:23model will receive a fashion spread in mary claire magazine designers we love talking to you and i think
39:31for all of you i really only have one word and that is cohesion cohesion cohesion
39:39cohesion and cohesion you got it yes and just go with your strength it is a big show it is a long runway
39:50there's a lot of people make it special listen my show is 11 minutes start to finish i have 11 minutes
40:00to tell everyone what i think is important at that moment for you guys it's even harder 10 looks
40:09and no one knows what you're about so you have to tell everyone what you're about plus what you
40:15think is fresh and new now not actually even now tomorrow so focus focus focus guys you have a lot
40:25of work to do so i think you guys should get out and get to work i see you on the big runway good luck you
40:31guys thank you thank you bye thank you bye guys bye thank you go go go work work just when we thought
40:46we were good i know what a mess the judges say that my collection is a lot of ideas so i don't know
40:54what i'm going to do it's it's really confusing basically we have what half a day today a small
41:01day tomorrow that's why i'm like there's like almost no time i'm a little surprised about what the judges
41:06said i was like no i think i have to scrap some stuff it's intense i know i have to make a couple
41:13new pieces and i'm just hoping i brought enough fabrics with me to make these new garments it's not
41:18that they're not right is that there's no time that's the issue we have like a ton of stuff to do
41:25and like i don't know what i'm gonna get done for this show
41:29next week on the finale of project runway i'm smashed i am feeling the pressure can you walk like
41:39that i don't know if it's a body suit or a top laurence should probably be worried avoid anything
41:44that begins to look like a craft project oh wow he's huge rubbery your model veronica
41:51it's not coming oh come on oh my heart is just pounding
42:01designers one of you will be the winner of project runway season 15.
42:21you
