00:42Julie was just one of the parents who attended the launching of Eskwela Kalusugan, Bawat Bata Malusog sa NCR,
00:49by the Department of Health in collaboration with the Department of Education in San Juan City.
00:53Part of the program was the conduct of a comprehensive school-based health assessment on students from kindergarten to grade one.

01:15Department of Health, katulong ang iba't ibang ahensya ng pamahalaan at ang mga lokal na pamahalaan ay nagtutulong-tulong upang maisulong yung mga programang pangkalusugan at programang pangnutrition.
01:28The Department's target is to reduce the cases of malnutrition and stunting in the country to 13.5% from the previous 27% by 2028.
01:38Malnutrition can cause disability or death in children if neglected.
01:42The National Nutrition Council estimates the Philippines could lose 2.3 trillion pesos in productivity by 2030
01:49if immediate action is not taken to address the country's malnutrition and child stunting status.
01:55The Department is further strengthening the Philippine multi-sectoral nutrition program with the aim to improve nutrition and health levels of the youth.
02:03Meanwhile, some nutrition experts, policy makers and advocates attended the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines Nutrition Forum.
02:10Here, the need to sustain the fight against malnutrition and stunting of youth in the country was discussed.
02:15I think the government needs to just keep doing it, keep addressing it, stay targeted,
02:20and to say that we as a, I can say as a private sector and as a nutrition company, we will always continue to partner with the government.
02:27The problem of nutrition is not a problem that can be solved by one agency, by one person or one entity.
02:34We really need cooperation.
02:36We need a more comprehensive approach to fighting nutrition and stunting in the Philippines.
02:42The forum also pointed out the importance of government and private sector collaboration in alleviating malnutrition in the Philippines.
02:49This is Sharm Zespina from the National TV Network for a new and better Philippines.
