00:00Welcome back. Let's just bring you a bit of breaking news which is coming to us.

00:03And this is coming from NATS, which is the National Air Traffic Control Service in Swanwick.

00:08They say that they have a technical issue.

00:11As a result of this, they are limiting the number of aircraft flying in the London control area

00:16in order to ensure safety, which is always our first priority, they say.

00:21They go on to say that they apologise for any delays this may cause.

00:24Our engineers are working hard to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.

00:27And we're working closely with airlines to help minimise the disruption.

00:31At this stage, we cannot say how long it'll be before operations are back to normal.

00:36Please check with your airline on the status of your flight.

00:41Now, there are separate reports that this could be causing the grounding of all aircraft in the UK.

00:46But we haven't had that confirmed yet.

00:48But we have had a statement at five past four from the National Air Traffic Control Service

00:53saying that a result of a technical issue at Swanwick Air Traffic Control Centre,

00:58they're limiting the number of aircraft flying in the London control area.

01:03Now, that's obviously an enormous control area.

01:06You know, there are airports at Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Luton and London City as well,

01:12all covered by that.

01:13And they don't know how long it is going to take before operations are back to normal.

01:19We are, of course, now trying to contact all of the different airports.

01:24And as we're able to bring anything to you on that, we will.
