00:00Hello, everybody. So, I'm joined with two of our great, great members of the lineup.
00:10Batting number three, Patty Murray. Batting number four, Amy Klobuchar.
00:15Three, who's two?
00:17Pitching, Chuck Schumer.
00:19You've got holes in the lineup about like the Yankees.
00:21I'm pitching, yeah. Oh, we shouldn't mention the Yankees.
00:24Who's two?
00:24I'm leaving.
00:25Who's two?
00:27Who's two?
00:30Many people might fit into number two, as a leader, it says.
00:35Okay, anyway, President Trump and Senate Republicans, their agenda boils down to three things.
00:45Costs, chaos, corruption.
00:48Let's start off with costs.
00:50The Yale Budget Lab this week estimated that Trump's tariffs will cost U.S. households $2,400 a year.
01:01For a hardworking family, $2,400 is a lot.
01:05Health care costs are going to skyrocket.
01:07That's not just due to the big, ugly bill, but because Republicans fail to extend the ACA's premium tax credits, which expire at the end of the year.
01:17Even though we, Senate Dems, tried three times, three times to do so.
01:22What does this mean?
01:24It means very soon, not on October 1st, 2020, not on January 1st, 2027, but as soon as this month, next month, Americans, 24 million Americans,
01:37will soon get a letter in the mail telling them that their premiums are going to go up in 2026, and that's not a small increase.
01:46The estimates are very large increases.
01:49If Republicans don't work with us to restore these credits, premiums are supposed to go up 75 percent,
01:55and they're going up so much that 5 percent of Americans, 5 million Americans,
02:01they're going up so much that 5 million Americans will lose coverage altogether because they won't be able to afford it.
02:08So to be clear, 17 million Americans will be kicked off health care because of what the Republicans did this month,
02:15and what they have refused to do, extend the tax credits to make health care more affordable in their massive tax bill.
02:22They had a lot of room for billionaire tax cuts, but not to prevent these premiums from going up on middle-class families.
02:31As costs go up, so does chaos.
02:35Donald Trump's trade war, total chaos.
02:38One minute he says yes to tariffs, the next he says no.
02:41After that, he changes his mind.
02:43Someone in our caucus today got up and said they calculated he made 100 changes in the tariffs already.
02:49Okay?
02:50What about Doge?
02:51Again, unmitigated chaos.
02:54Doge has fired, rehired, and fired again everyone from VA workers to medical researchers to USAID workers,
03:01even to nuclear safety personnel.
03:05Social Security is being hollowed out.
03:077,000 staffers were fired.
03:09Wait times on the phones have gone up.
03:11Online services have gone dark at times.
03:14Millions of seniors who depend on Social Security have been left in the dark.
03:18So, with costs rising and chaos rising at an all-time high, what are the White House and Senate Republicans focused on?
03:28Unprecedented corruption.
03:31Aided and abetted by Senate Republicans.
03:33Trump accepted a luxury plane from Qatar to use as Air Force One with potentially hundreds of millions in taxpayer dollars to be spent on renovations.
03:45He turned the South Lawn of the White House into a Tesla dealership.
03:50His family is getting rich off schemes and selling access for profit.
03:56Trump's rampant self-stealing puts corruption front and center.
04:00I've never witnessed, and I think in American history, an administration that enriches themselves from their government actions.
04:10It's gross.
04:13And, of course, that leads us to the Jeffrey Epstein cover-up.
04:17Trump promised he'd release the Epstein files while he was on the campaign trail, yet he has yet to do it.
04:22And, of course, it's true that he has yet to do it, and he has yet to do it, and he has yet to do it.
04:52What happens if the Epstein files end up in the hands of Russia or North Korea or Chinese governments?
05:06Unless the Epstein files are fully released to the public, could our adversaries use that information to blackmail someone like the President?
05:15And what kind of risk would that be for our national security?
05:19So today, I called on the FBI to immediately conduct a counterintelligence threat
05:27to ensure we understand the risk posed if a foreign adversary would gain access to anything connected with the files,
05:34to determine three things, if foreign intelligence agencies could gain access to the files,
05:39second, for the FBI to identify any vulnerabilities that could be exploited by foreign intelligence agents,
05:47and third, for the FBI to show publicly they're developing mitigation strategies so this couldn't happen.
05:54Last Thursday, DHS and HHS were among several government agencies hacked as part of a breach to Microsoft SharePoint system.
06:02This was confirmed that it was Chinese actors, so we don't need this happening again.
06:08We have to ensure that it can happen.
06:11National security is not and should never be a partisan issue.
06:15We need to do everything we can to make sure we're protecting the U.S. and American families.
06:20This report is vital in doing that.
06:22Beyond that, there is one more thing Donald Trump could do to quell people's anger, confusion, frustration, and our deep fears.
