00:00Kyle, thanks for joining us. I was here at your 3-0 win today against Sir Select and you must have been really happy with things that you saw this afternoon.
00:07Absolutely, it's been a great performance from the boys today. I've performed very well throughout the week.
00:13Especially their performances throughout the week and today as well. We're kind of caught in a rabbit in the headlights in the first 10 minutes out there.
00:21I think the boys settled down really, really well. Settled down and took control of the game.
00:25We were able to control it from defensive phase midfield to attack. A cracking goal from Owen to settle the nerves of the boys.
00:34The boys have come into this this week with a cracking attitude, really good personality, really good discipline.
00:42The way they've settled over the course of the week and their performance is starting to get better over the course of the week for sure.
00:47Three different challenges, I think it was Leeds and Cliftonville and then Sir Select today.
00:50I know you don't know who you'll play tomorrow yet but those three different challenges are really good for the development of the squad.
00:55Absolutely, massive development of the squad. What we were hoping for this week was playing teams we don't generally play week in, week out.
01:02We're coming up with a very strong Cliftonville side who's strengthened over the summer there.
01:06But to go up against those types of sides within the Irish League and being able to compete.
01:11That was the most important thing this week, that we're being able to compete at the highest level and one of the biggest youth tournaments in the world.
01:16So, kind of a Cliftonville game, it was a bit of nerves in that game and the first game of the Super Cup.
01:23Coming from a wee village like Lockall, we're not regarded as one of the bigger clubs.
01:28But going into the Leeds game yesterday, that was the one we wanted in the draw.
01:32It was the one we wanted, the big premiership side.
01:34The guys were absolutely loving it.
01:37The nerves were certainly settled in that game.
01:40And, listen, a fantastic goal from a Leeds player yesterday into the top corner.
01:45Kind of put us in the back foot a wee bit.
01:47I don't think our boys thought that was coming.
01:49But, listen, to not take it away from Leeds, it was a great effort.
01:52A great respectful club.
01:54And the way we settled into the game was really, really good.
01:57I think we settled into the game really well.
01:58I think the last ten minutes in the first half, we were probably in a better position.
02:02We controlled the game a bit better.
02:04And I think we won it overall in the second half.
02:06And, thankfully, we got that equaliser for the boys.
02:08We thoroughly deserved it.
02:10It must be a boost for yourself as a coach and your fellow coaching staff.
02:13The players and parents as well.
02:15The first team coach from Lockall, Darren Murphy, was in attendance today.
02:19Yeah, absolutely.
02:19Listen, it's one thing about Lockall Football Club is there's a great support.
02:22You know, Darren Murphy's been to numerous training sessions
02:25and being about the boys for, you know, the lead-up to the Super Cup.
02:29And, listen, that's fantastic.
02:30You know, and one thing about Darren, you know,
02:32he's not afraid to bring a couple of the boys into the first-team set-up,
02:36which he's already done.
02:37And, you know, our goalkeeper there, Oliver Garvin,
02:39was on the bench for a friendly and supported down the other night.
02:42So, you know, it's fantastic.
02:44It gives the boys a boost.
02:45It shows you the development within the squad
02:46and the opportunities that is there.
02:48And, you know, the support from Lockall Football Club
02:50in regards to the youth committee and the senior committee
02:52was nothing short of as exceptional.
02:53You know, you mentioned earlier that Lockall wouldn't be the biggest club,
02:57but I noticed a fair few flags there.
02:59I see you're smiling.
03:00But it feels like half the village has come up to the north coast this week.
03:04Absolutely.
03:04Listen, we might be one of the smaller clubs,
03:07known clubs in Northern Ireland.
03:08But, listen, as you say, half the village is over there today.
03:11I think, you know, we have an awards night on Friday night.
03:14I think it was 130 in attendance of that,
03:16which is absolutely phenomenal.
03:17I think that's three-quarters of village,
03:19the Lockall Football Club.
03:20But, listen, we have a lot of players that are travelling to Lockall
03:24from various parts of Northern Ireland, you know,
03:26and it just shows where the club's going at the minute.
03:28You know, the club's going in the right direction.
03:30We're attracting a lot of really talented players now
03:33that's coming from, you know, Belfast,
03:35even as far out as Kesh.
03:36And, you know, it's fantastic to see that for a club like Lockall.
