00:00Man, how the middle looks.
00:12Oh, wait, look.
00:14You know he had natural 122 pound.
00:16Yeah, that's where he fought Luis Panteritaneri and he fought Angelo Leo.
00:22And he in there with a puncher at 126.
00:26What's surprised about his knuckles, Tim?
00:28When we were in the fighter meeting, you said, let me see your hands, Jan.
00:32Man, them knuckles are so defined, man.
00:34I mean, look, I'm always looking at puncher's hands because I'm just curious to see the difference.
00:39Because you didn't have them.
00:41Hey, last night, man, I hit that punching machine.
00:44I got second.
00:45That thing wasn't moving.
00:47That was rigged.
00:49No, it wasn't rigged.
00:51Oh, yeah.
00:52They said I couldn't punch.
00:53Oh, yeah.
00:54I went well over 900.
00:55Easy.
00:56Yeah.
00:57Quick one-two there from Jan Santana.
00:59And he's going to use his reach today because he has a five-inch reach advantage at 72 inches.
01:04He's going to be snapping with that jab and looking to set up that left hook.
01:07Yeah, Alameda coming from that softball stance.
01:14Oh, that right hand.
01:15He brought it.
01:16Buzzed him.
01:17Momentarily buzzed him right there.
01:18Look, Alameda's only lost to champions.
01:21The aforementioned Luis Panetti-Tiritaneri took his O.
01:24And then the next fight, Angelo Leo defeated him.
01:27And he was, that decision was booed.
01:29So it was a close fight against a man who is now currently reigning as the IBF featherweight champion.
01:35So he doesn't go down easy.
01:39And he's a tough out for anybody.
01:41But you could just see the physical differences here against Jan Santana.
01:45Yeah, the physical difference, the hand.
01:47I mean, anytime he gets touched, you see it knocks him a little bit off balance.
01:50But at the same time, I mean, he's got the short arms.
01:53He's trying to get inside of that reach of Santana.
01:58Santana uses his reach very well.
01:59You see him right there.
02:00He's in the shell defense right now.
02:03Trying to anticipate.
02:04Looking for that jab hand to come out.
02:06Looking to counter.
02:08Counter that jab with his right hand.
02:10You know, Alameda's the opposite of what we usually see.
02:12A lot of times we see southpaws who fight righty like Oscar De La Hoya.
02:17And this guy is the opposite.
02:18He's a natural righty who fights as a southpaw.
02:21Yeah, so I mean, the right hook should be a dangerous weapon for him in this matchup.
02:25And it's a punch that he should be looking for.
02:27Look at that lead hand of Santana.
02:30It's always down.
02:31He's lowered by his body.
02:33Somewhat of a shoulder roll there from Santana.
02:35But he leans forward, not backward with it so much.
02:38Yeah, I'm starting to see more Dominican.
02:41You know, you can see one a little bit later tonight.
02:43And Polanco that used that shoulder roll.
02:46Boy made with an S type of shell.
02:49You know, there's an influence from the Cuban trainers who went over to the Dominican Republic for a while.
02:54Exactly.
02:55To give them more technique to go with their physical strength and power.
02:58And that's why you're seeing the increased skill from the Dominican fighters.
03:03Good opening round from Jan Santana here at the theater at MSG.
03:13We see a lot of young talent come through top-ranked boxing on ESPN.
03:30But this young man, Abdullah Mason, is an uber talent who will soon be fighting for his first world title.
03:37Just from that southpaw stance generates so much power as a young man's got those lightning quick reflexes.
03:45And today we have the privilege of having Abdullah Mason join us right here for top-ranked boxing on ESPN.
03:55And Abdullah, you are just months away from challenging for your first world title.
04:00The title that Keyshawn Davis left vacant on the night that you took over Norfolk.
04:05What does it mean for you to be fighting the number one contender, Sam Noakes, November 11th in Riyadh?
04:11I'm ready to make some noise in the boxing world, so this means a lot.
04:14And it's a huge step up.
04:16Once I grab that world title, I'll be up there with the other title holders and competing with them.
04:21So, you know, I can't wait to win that first world title. It's only up from there.
04:25What kind of challenges do you see from that opposition?
04:28What kind of challenges do you see he brings to your table?
04:32Sam Noakes?
04:33Yes.
04:34You know, he's strong.
04:36Yes.
04:37And I feel like everything else I have, you know, over him.
04:41You know, even my strength is there as well.
04:43So, I'm just ready to get in there, you know.
04:45We've got a low layoff this camp.
04:47Okay.
04:48We've got a lot longer to prepare.
04:49So, we're going to come extremely ready, Inshallah, and we're going to do our thing.
04:53So, he's strong, but I feel like I'm going to let my hands go and, you know, have fun in there.
04:58You guys both have only gotten a distance twice in your professional careers.
05:02you have 17 knockouts and 19 wins he's got 15 knockouts in 17 wins what's this camp going to be
05:08about for you this i feel like there's a whole there's there's a few different ways that i could
05:16you know break them down and um like i said i'm gonna just have fun you know i'm gonna do what
05:21works best but ultimately i gotta you know watch out for his power and um anytime you're in there
05:27with a punch and you gotta make sure you keep your eyes open and um he's one of those fighters
05:32he got some power so besides that i feel like i have all the skill set you know my fast on my feet
05:38light on my feet quick hands i got power as well you know i let my hand my hands go i put them
05:45together in combinations and it's gonna be a great fight for sure you know it's a vacant title so
05:49both of us will be competing for a title for our first time in our career so this is a step up for
05:56for me and him and we both gonna be coming for it but i feel like this is gonna be one of those
06:01fights where um like a floyd gotti i like that i like that analogy all right so abdullah usually
06:08it's me or mark riego holding a mic in in front of your face and that's an interview but today you
06:13have a headset on that means we want to put you to work so yeah allow us to indulge you here on this
06:19fight so far what we're seeing from yan santana in the pink trunks against our own alameda
06:25what do you think of santana and how he's dealing with the shorter and more experienced
06:30alameda early on i love the way he's dealing with him um this is my first time watching both fighters
06:35so this would be me you know honest this yeah this is this yeah this is would be an honest review
06:41but santana he's i like how he's staying at the end of his punches you know alameda he has power you
06:50know you could tell from his record he got some some power on his hands and uh okay
06:54but santana he started off sharp and he's not giving alameda too much room to think or breathe
07:01but he's got to make sure he's still you know staying tight stay tight on his defense
07:06defense defense defense defense you can't get too anxious uh-huh quick question for you you see
07:12santana you see he's looking in the eyes yeah of his opposition where do you look when you're in
07:18there fighting are you looking at his champ i look at it i look at it a little bit everywhere
07:23i don't like to just keep my eyes you know placed on one spot there's different ways you could use
07:28your eyes in a ring you know if you're just looking at his eyes you may miss something you may miss
07:32an opening you may miss you know his body language so you gotta just assess your opponent all the way
07:39around the board and i feel like you know some people like to look in the eyes but i gain advantages
07:45from you know looking at his whole body i see certain openings and i see what i could do to an
07:50opponent yeah i mean you like so when i was fighting i would scan i look direct like center of the chest
07:55but i would be scanning at the same time looking at opens and looking for openings i never looked the guy
08:00right in the eye i didn't want to look him in the eye right yeah and so when you're looking just at
08:04the chest you gotta keep playing a shot over here you're looking at this chest you don't give him
08:09game of where you're gonna be going you know what i mean so but anyways i was just wondering where
08:13the hell you looked at another thing when do you when do you know you gotta fight one one round two
08:20rounds when you know like ah this guy ain't got nothing somebody's whole fight could change and
08:27you gotta be able to read it i feel like i could just read when an opponent isn't the same as when
08:32they first step you know when that belt first rang and they letting their hands go as confident as
08:38they are so eventually you can see when that fight is leaving them when it goes from confident to win
08:44to wanting to survive in there all right we'll keep it now into the fight round three of the schedule
08:5010 round five bernardo osuna alongside the hall of famer timothy bradley and world title contender now
08:57former number one on tim bradley uh what is it what's your list double step prospect list
09:03you said a long time ago he had graduated yeah for sure amazing all right but let's get into this
09:10fight with yan santana time to work behind the jab and alameda trying to close the gap what's
09:14what's the hardest part about fighting a shorter fighter abdullah i feel like the distance could
09:21be a little awkward you know um just them going lower you know bending their knees you know they
09:27come up with punches you don't see so you just got to make sure you your distance is right because
09:32sometimes they could be closer than they seem or farther than they seem
09:36yeah i like what i'm seeing right now from alameda he's paying attention to the body
09:43of santana but santana letting his hands go he not letting alameda get comfortable in there
09:49no i mean you know little moments where you see alameda just stay out of that range
09:54and don't slide in of course santana got the long arms he's just working those combinations
09:59that's right and he's spinning alameda as well putting it in the places where he wants him
10:05to be nice combinations good defense from alameda there yeah but santana he's easy he's uh he's
10:13operating every range right now looking good defense prowess right there from him at mid range then
10:18up from the outside anytime alameda just takes lets off a little bit off the gas and don't shoot
10:22any punches guess what santana's answering yeah he getting comfortable in there and he's seeing
10:28everything coming now right he got his timing down
10:41some middle making santana is here yeah but he didn't come up with any shot i mean you make a
10:47miss you got to make a pay you know he's getting the small little opportunities to be able to land
10:51shots and when you make a miss like that badly you got to make them pay i mean you can see the power
10:58that shot that on sundana landed and he heard him nice bodyward now from santana see the free
11:05getting the creativity from those combinations right there from sometimes and in the best part
11:10about it he's just touching him he only loading up on shots he just touched touching touching he
11:15knows his hands is heavy and sooner or later his opposition is gonna wear down how many of alameda's
11:20last three fights went to distance he got one out of the last five fights went to distance and then
11:26he had two decisions those losses against angelo leo and luis panteritaneri but now i want you to
11:32take us through this replay sequence because the body work of jan santana has really helped him set up
11:38his shots to the head so here is the body work what do you see yo abdulla
11:42i'll just set it up beautiful combination um
11:50i can tell you how is he landing those shots what is he what is alameda doing to allow him to land
11:55no shots he's not active you know he's letting him step in there and get comfortable without answering
12:00anything he steps in there and he gives him time yeah he gives him time to look at anything that he wants
12:05to plant and then at the same time the defensive system that he's using is is he just using the high
12:11guard and so using the high guard he's exposing his flank and you come around that guard and
12:16that's what santian is exploiting all those little small openings around that high guard
12:22all right abdulla thank you for joining us here this is your house and it's been a pleasure
12:27calling your awesome your fights and getting you to 19 and 0 right here on top rank boxing on espn
12:33we wish you all the luck on riyadh season november 11 as you fight sam notes for your first world
12:38title the vacant wbo lightweight belt which is the best my friend we're gonna have a lot of fun
12:43november 22nd make sure y'all tune in because it's gonna be great oh get that money i know it is
12:49it's gonna be great yeah we gotta we got an appetite for smoke a lot of it absolutely go get your shirts
12:55thank you thank you thank you very much thank you thank you throw down
13:08well there it is abdulla mason right there the hot prodigy
13:13in boxing probably one of the most talked about fighters in the game today
13:17and a future commentator as well abdulla mason thanks for joining us here round four of a
13:24scheduled 10 rounder here yan santana now allowing alameda to take a step forward and that's something
13:30you don't want to do tim is allow a fighter like alameda to get going downhill look it's something you
13:37don't want to do but it obviously it seems like santana's just here to work today you know and he's
13:41letting the fight again materialize round by round he knows he has 10 rounds to work he's taking
13:48advantage of it but alameda right there just landed a nice straight left hand down the pipe you don't
13:52want to get caught with though too many of those left hands coming from alameda that has punching power
14:00santana told us i want shushu carrington because tonight he's leveling up and i think i have the
14:04potential to beat him the dominican fans out here cheering on yan santana
14:11look look we're getting caught with that um same thing getting caught mid-range santana sees the
14:19problem with santana is he spends too much on his reflexes man and when you're just sitting still
14:23and you're not picking up your feet and changing the distance of the range he puts himself in a
14:28in a position where he can get hit with that straight left hand he likes to hang out on that back
14:33foot man i'm not a big fan of that shoulder roll man especially when you're facing the southpaw
14:38ball and if a southpaw understands the openings that he can use right like meaning throwing the
14:44straight left hand right down the middle following up with the swivel jab he can expose that opening
14:50produced by that shoulder roll
14:52so he's going to be a little bit of confidence here there's a scheduled 10 rounder with four rounds
15:07in that could be a part of his plan too because the one thing that i see from santana is he likes to
15:12punch in between shots so he doesn't mind offense coming his way because he'll find those openings
15:17around it as you're punching thank you for joining us on espn plus we'll move over to espn at nine
15:28easter remiliano fargas el general the undefeated junior welterweight prospect there's a certain added
15:34pressure that comes with being the son of a former two-time world champion like fernando vargas but
15:39remiliano he's building his own legacy
15:41i just want to be great i just uh i'm my own man i'm my own person and i respect my dad so much
15:51because he allows me to be my own man you know he allows me to be my own person that's why i love him
15:56so much and i know every single punch that he took was for me and my brothers and i don't forget that
16:05i think a lot of people don't feel i deserve to be where i'm at because of the fact that you know
16:12i'm on the stage or have the eyeballs on me from the get because of my dad
16:18i mean it's the cards i'm dealt with you know what i'm saying i would rather be overhyped than um underrated
16:25any day
16:31el feroz fernando vargas fought right here in new york city and now it's his son's turn to do it
16:39he says my mom hasn't been here since my dad fought here my sister's so excited to be in new york and he
16:46looks the part as a gq model and in the ring though santana yan santana the dominican fighter is looking
16:53the part against arona lameda here early on in the fifth round breaking them down man those shots are
17:00heavy took a beating out now you're seeing santana just rev it up doing whatever he wants at the
17:06moment yeah this fight's about the end real soon man that's a lot of punishment coming from santana
17:14yeah this is what i was waiting on i was like okay he's softened him up he's softened him up
17:18starting the weekend when is he gonna step on the gas and give us something to cheer about
17:23well it's this round right now oh angle on him oh my goodness nice pivot he stepped around bam right
17:28hook followed by the left uppercut as well i mean now you're seeing yan santana get it to his back yes
17:35yes and show the display of his skills his power you see that right hand i pushed
17:43i'll get it back again yeah pushed him back again what we call that you don't have to get in the weight
17:48room especially if he gonna go at 126. get your behind in that weight room my man low light
17:57look and then when you hit the guy with your best shot
18:01upstairs it's time to take your attention downstairs you it's obviously alameda can take a shot
18:07you go downstairs on him we see if he can if you can take that that liver shot
18:12yeah lameda's never been down in 32 professional fights only two losses decisions against
18:19eventual world champion angelo leo and in a title fight against lisa panteritanera for the vacant wbc
18:25junior featherweight title that was in september of 2020. so you can see his toughness
18:32yeah i've seen the toughness too but i hope i'm seeing right that he's trying to set up
18:40santana with something you know being patient very calm right there at mid-range man and santana's okay
18:47with saying that mid-range like i told you because he likes to counter however man i see a right hook
18:51available for alameda you just gotta let it go shoot that left hand downstairs and come up with that right
18:58hook and we see a lot of converted southpaws who want to fight orthodox so that their power hand is
19:05the jab and the left hook and it's closer to the opponent this is the opposite for alameda he's a
19:10natural orthodox fighter who has that shot now available to the closer to yon santana but he hasn't
19:16been able to pull the trigger so far you just gotta let it go you know a fighter that's like that also
19:21was is uh shikor stevenson yep that's why that right hook is there
19:28that's the shot and we listen in to yon santana's voice
19:38his left eye is getting to be a little swollen
19:43take a deep breath come on i need you to inhale
19:50he doesn't know what walk backwards
19:52i need you to keep touching them how do you feel
20:04let's go ahead and check out this left hook right here landed by santana set up off the right hand
20:10to be able to generate leverage not chopping left hook right there just finding that small little
20:17opening right there left open by alameda that was a grazing blow right there that was on the shoulder
20:24okay where is it here it comes there it is chopping almost like uh triple g style who now is used by
20:32who another dominican go he called it the polanco polanco but he did say you know what and i like that
20:38because rohan polanco gave credit to triple g he said look triple g originated this shot that
20:43fork screw hook yeah but i made it my own as well and i'm trying to improve on it
20:48but i'm sure santana saw his countrymen doing it uh huh or maybe it's something that's taught now
20:53over in the dominican that was a nice left hook there from santana i think it's tall
20:57absolutely it's tough
21:01but it got to be used in the right way man i see some guys trying to use it they don't use it the
21:06right way it just looks so awkward oh wow you saw the change of level right there
21:10no no no that was interesting right there just getting eye level with alameda and landed that
21:16four-piece combination right there
21:23sometimes sometimes you oh what a nice step in right and look at alameda was hurt by that shot on
21:28the angle just slipped outside the view of alameda slipped outside those eyes and landed that right hand
21:35as he was throwing a jab coming forward look santana's having fun in there right now yeah but
21:40she he having fun but it look look if it's that easy get get him up out of here what we playing
21:45what we playing what our food for get him up out of this and see that's the different levels of
21:51mentality that's what it is it's the mentality you got to have that killer mentality that's the difference
21:56between this young man that was sitting right here the la mason if you don't belong in here
22:01hey i don't get paid for overtime i'm getting your body here
22:08and that corkscrew right hand is santana good body work
22:15and look let's let's give alameda credit a lot of experience he's been in there with some powerhouses
22:20right you know he was in there with nary he was in there with uh leo leo as well you mentioned that
22:27you know never been stopped and those guys those guys got some nary got some heavy hands yeah and
22:32he's never been dropped either so and that was at his natural weight and it was a split decision
22:38with uh leo with leo and leo is a damn good fighter champion right now so that was a lead right hand
22:46there from santana now he's just toying with him but i agree with you the fans are going to start
22:51getting impatient here in new york they don't play around now you've seen the strength though of
22:58santana good waist movement
23:04one two got nice good nice long shots
23:10speaking of guys who keep their opponents on the end of their shots that's what abdala mason does so well
23:15yes and another thing he he can punch with you yes he has the hand speed to time you right
23:22anticipate when you're going to punch and punch right in between laser sharp
23:28look at look at look at look at he's wildin look at he's wildin yeah put some more don't dance don't
23:33dance go out there and put some punches on this man
23:35man he enjoying himself man it's always fun when you when you when everything is going your way
23:45always fun and and you know when we inside that ring sometimes we don't have fun so he's enjoying
23:52himself man why is the head on points
23:54how do you feel
24:06okay i'm good my hair is good i need you to sit on your punches and get close and push them back
24:14move move move move get those hooks
24:17around seven good though he's in the pen already in the pot so what happened yeah he's right and so
24:25what what's happening is you got to get the referee to get involved right this is a guy that's gonna
24:30he's tough he's gonna take a lot of shots he's definitely he's definitely gonna take a lot of shots
24:36and uh you you start pouring on the combinations just to get him in the in position to where you know
24:43he's just defending and not punching back referee gonna step in there and say hey man you taking
24:47too much punishment and he'll keep the hoop look to stop the match for you and it seems like that's
24:52what he's about to do i was like what you're talking about get the referee involved but now i know what
24:56you're saying to make the referee do his job and stop the fight to save him absolutely
25:05look you if you don't if you if you don't answer too many uh unanswered punches the referee will step in
25:12and he won't think you hurt a nice lead right there from yan santana alameda tried to open up with
25:18the left and how do you see the southpaw with the right santana's got a great right hand and
25:26look that corkscrew left over the top
25:37yeah sometimes trying to piece him up here
25:46another nice loaded up loaded right hand right there that was a nice one too
25:50yeah from yan santana you know he said my life changed once miguel coto and his team took control
25:56of my career and now i have advisors i have a whole squad behind me that pushes me to be better every
26:03day i was just getting by on my talent and now i have great trainers i have a great team great push behind me
26:10it's like you can see alameda he's just fighting against right being pushed back he's fighting against
26:19you know wanting to give in and he's trying to stay keep himself mentally in this fight right now
26:26he looks comfortable he doesn't look he doesn't look like he's too fazed by what's going on he's being
26:31calm and patient now he's starting to fight back
26:40but you can tell that alameda he's been here before you can just tell
27:01we talked about the fans getting a little bit impatient here tim they want to finish they want
27:10to see santana close his show well you see right now alameda now is going to the defensive mode right
27:16now i know he's not throwing too many punches not exposing himself he's protecting himself very well
27:20and that's just being the seasoned veteran having that experience it's like you know what i'm here to
27:25i'm here to win to try to win but also i'm not i'm trying to go home i'm not trying to go home on the
27:30stretches a lot of fighters say the moment they enter the ring they flip the switch and enter a
27:34different mindset shushu carrington says i don't just flip the switch an entire alter ego takes over
27:42shushu was different from bruce i mean like what you're getting right here is bruce you know what
27:47i mean you'll go you won't get the smiles and you know happy-go-lucky and a little clown around
27:52but shushu is what you see in the ring shushu carrington he is a beast
28:00knockdown score he's that brownsville bully jack that left hook and shushu carrington wants to
28:08finish the fight right here right now he's that you know that monster that nobody want to be
28:14against you know what i'm saying nobody want to want to face against shushu because all of that anger
28:19that he has up inside of him all the things that he went through all the things that he's seen
28:22then you're gonna get all of that and i don't think anybody can be able to handle you know what
28:26shushu carrington has to give now look shushu carrington has been calling out all the champions
28:35as the doctor is now taking a look at marron alameda i told you he's fine i don't care he's my fighter
28:44i don't give a shit corners telling him hey he's fine let him go he's my fighter
28:50but let's see if yan santana presses the action here just really quick to close up that whole
28:56tie up the featherweight situation with shushu carrington fighting for a belt tonight it's an
29:00interim title but what he wanted was rafael espinoza the wbo tie this angelo leo who's supposed to be in
29:06the house tonight who holds the ibf belt ray vargas who's going to be fighting mark castro for the wbc
29:12belt or nick ball the wba champion he said all those guys said no and here i am i'm gonna get my belt and
29:18i'm gonna force him into a fight wait wait wait wait did you say castro was going to be fighting
29:23against ray vargas i don't make the fight wait hold up i thought i thought fulton is supposed to be
29:32fighting ray vargas he said he's supposed to be stepping up now to take on oshaki foster at 130
29:38oh so that's okay all right a lot of moving parts yeah things change but but but so if he's going to
29:45step up is he going to keep his belt and well he'll be a champion until he either wins or loses
29:50that belt and then makes the decision on what to do so once he makes that decision if shushu wins this
29:55belt tonight now if he decides to stay then he goes to the full champion and then he faces ray vargas
30:01ray vargas for yeah for the actual official championship just one champion brother that's
30:06it but yes when we're here sitting trying to do algebra playing chess it's just one champion make
30:15it easy oh well oh that's a nice right from something yeah but it was a change up of speed the reason why
30:21he was able to land that nice hook to the body hit him down low and then came right up top
30:27with a quick right hand down the middle
30:29again i'll admit it's going to be here he knows how to protect himself he knows how to survive
30:36you know the only person that's going to be able to get this man up out of here is
30:40sometimes he's going to have to press on the gas a little bit more and if i'm seeing that you have
30:45the doctor up in the corner looking at this man look i'm i'm torn let's pour it on let's pour it on
30:51let's get him up out of here because obviously they're concerned
31:00there is concern for sure but now it's all up to
31:04jan santana to make the doctors and the referee do their job but already it sets the precedent once
31:11the fighter goes over to be checked by the doctors everybody's on high alert yeah so it's
31:16your job to get him up out of there get him up out of there
31:24he got two more rounds two more rounds to do it
31:30or at least attempt to oh nice body work right there oh that was nice
31:36yeah and i'm still showing signs that he wants to win this fight there's a swivel jab
31:40that i was talking about good right here stopping at the bell
31:49nice sequence right there at the end of that last round from alameda
31:52look puerto rico has three current men who hold the world title oscar collazo is the longest
31:58reigning at strawweight rene santiago is the wbc junior flightweight those are little guys
32:03but at junior welterweight we got subriel matias recently coming off of a win
32:10against cuello and that was a great fight and he is in the house here representing puerto rico
32:16because one of his countrymen xander zayas is going to be stepping into the ring and he just really
32:23wants a shot against tio fimo lopez he slapped the hell out of him and this heel better step up and
32:28fight him he slapped tayo i'm telling you he slapped him in the face for real these dudes don't
32:33play around come on you ain't gonna slap me and get away with it brother sorry we fighting
32:38that's a t-o better step up and face this man
32:41superior matias the most recent fighter to win a world title for puerto rico a country that has
32:47produced so many champions but has been starved over the last few years for world titles could gain
32:53at four tonight if at age 22 xander zayas can become the youngest reigning world champion to do it
33:01he will have to beat porge garcia who has been a professional fighter for 11 years that's works out
33:08to about half of xander zayas's entire lifespan but hey it's gonna be a tough fight that'll be our main
33:15event over on espn tonight for now it's yan santana in the pink fuchsia whatever tick color tim says it
33:25is out there against aaron alameda fuchsia that's pink yeah man and the snapping right hands from
33:34santana making alameda miss not willing to make him pay oh you can tell to see the personality of a
33:41fighter just by the way he's dressing you see the little i don't know what you call that
33:45tassels little tassels all over the side don't act like you don't know you have to have tassels
33:48i ain't never had no tassels i'm not talking about in the ring
33:57i ain't never had no tassels man come on but i'm just saying that the fatality you know if you got tassels
34:02you you know you're gonna be sweet you like to look sweet in there and that's what you're seeing right
34:07here from santana just he just being sweet he okay like to be cute you don't like to get hit with too
34:13many shots he like to just hey box his way to victory that's it that's his that's his temperament
34:21big shots i thought it was a big shot but it didn't man alameda you would think being a 22 pounder you
34:27would think that he could cut one of those shots it'll do something to him however i don't know if
34:32sometimes it's hitting like that or alameda just got a hell of a chin look man if if he would stood
34:39the punish from from panterita and we just saw what angelo leo was able to do against these alberto
34:44venado lopez in a brutal finish that tells you something about alameda you know why he's from
34:49sonora yeah yeah sonora don't mess around sonora don't mess around you that's where you're from that's
34:56you ain't hurt nobody man come on shoot mess around that's a nice right hand from santana
35:11another counter right from santana making a lameda oh commit and making him pay now that's what i like
35:16just keep touching take off the power just keep touching it touch him touch him stay consistent
35:21touch touch touch touch and then boom land the big shot i like this
35:36santana told us in the gym you're either the nail or the hammer and in the rink tonight he is the
35:41hammer and alameda is the nail
35:52alameda not looking very good going back to this corner
35:56he's not looking good his trainer don't care either he lost every damn round
36:00he's going to land the left hook and then overhead right
36:12you have to get a catch in here
36:17this is more
36:24take a deep breath final round
36:26look at how he walked himself back to the corner tim look at his legs
36:45yes a little unstable a little wiggle wobble misstep
36:50little fatigued took a lot of punishment tonight
36:57round 10 final round bernardo soon alongside hall of famer
37:02sympathy desert storm bradley top-ranked boxing on espn from the theater at msg it all leads up to
37:10a transfer night for
37:12aboriqua
37:13xander's eyes looking to become the youngest current champion in the sport today
37:17and shoe shoe carrington will he turn msg theater into shoe york
37:21tonight like he's done so many times before
37:25for now it's santana town
37:28because jan santana the dominican
37:30is making sure that mexico's out on alameda
37:33pays the price every time he's taking a step forward
37:36he in there playing with him
37:38yeah he in there playing with him
37:39alameda had losses in the world series of boxing
37:46against what basie ramirez andrew shelby and vladimir nikitin
37:53never been down
37:55never been stopped
37:57that streak looks to be continuing tonight unless something happens here last minute and 45 seconds
38:03of the final round
38:08you hear the crowd chanting yan santana
38:11with a triple clap
38:14yeah they're trying to get him to do something
38:17i mean he boxing beautifully man it's a pitch to shut out
38:21easy work looking landing combinations like that and man sometimes they just don't go they don't go
38:26nowhere they don't want to go anywhere especially alameda's that guy yeah and if you don't get to know that
38:30rib cage man they're going to continue to you know build up some courage
38:36and keep attacking you like that and of course alameda he paid you know he paid homage to his
38:41defense as well he's just not allowing him to hit him he's making him work for it a little bit
38:49and and he's trying to he's trying to do something oh yeah matador i see him and then
38:54he gets clipped for messing around with it that's a good fancy footwork from uh jan santana but it's
39:02him that has to be capping off that footwork with the nice punch not allowing alameda to
39:06say you want to you want to dance dance but you're going to take a shot
39:09yeah i wanted to know and i asked in the fighter meetings can santana can he fight off his back foot
39:21yes he can yeah i got my answer tonight he can fight off the back foot uh do i see some moments of
39:27vulnerability absolutely he slipped there 15 seconds left in this 10th round will be going the distance it
39:36seems and i don't know alameda may earn his third professional loss the other two or gets champions
39:42yeah and that tells you right there what level that santana's on and you hear the crowd they don't
39:48like all that showboat they don't like them taxes they don't like him playing with his food as you
39:54solid it's a solid performance by santana man easy work easy work it's time to step up for more
40:04competition yeah it wouldn't surprise me if that's a shutout victory for jan santana he was in control
40:09from round one yeah i mean look we got the longer arms of course yeah and just because you have the
40:14longer arms don't mean that you're gonna you know be able to learn know how to use them well santana
40:18knows how to use them long arms right to his advantage you know he had alameda out at range
40:24you know uh there were times where you have defensive lapses and then that's when you will see most
40:29of the time alameda will land something you know flush on him but i like the creativity that i saw
40:35from santana you know he landed beautiful right hands like that against the southpaw um can he
40:40handle a softball do you understand southpaws yo well we got that we learned something tonight yes he
40:45can he understands angles of the southpaw you know which is good because you're gonna have to deal with
40:50different styles southpaws you're gonna deal with orthodox fighters you're gonna have to deal with switch
40:55hitters you know you got to deal with a guy like uh matias that you just talked about we just got
41:02done talking about you got to deal with guys like that man that relentless in your face you got to be
41:06able to box and then you're gonna deal with sweet boxers you know or boxer punchers like a tfmo lopez
41:13well he got that length to be able to deal with that that's the question he's only 126 pounder
41:19he's tall for the weight class oh shoot i'm in a different weight class i'm in a different weight class
41:23but you know what i mean puerto rican i'm just saying stylistically that's what i mean
41:27puerto rican champion people style the styles that's all i'm saying you can't fix that with
41:31tim you heard another conversation i was in another conversation about myself i was by myself off on an
41:37island bro sometimes that happens man damn don't take punches for a living dang it stay in school kids
41:44we got an example of that right here ringside tim badly we got an example of a young man who may be on
41:49his way towards the world title that's yan santana i don't know as tough as they come let's send it up
41:56to ralph velez for the decision ladies and gentlemen after 10 rounds of championship action we go to
