00:00Rock is a massive character within our universe.
00:06Game of the devil!
00:08Who is the rock?
00:09Robo Bull, great one.
00:10Undisputed champion, so shut up, bitch.
00:14He's one of the biggest stars in the world.
00:17Coming off of last year's successful WrestleMania run.
00:22The final boss obviously has a huge legacy in WWE.
00:25The final boss.
00:29The greatest heel professional wrestling has seen.
00:33Insurmountable antagonist.
00:36There's nothing that the final boss can't do.
00:38Because this is what happens when you fuck with the final boss.
00:45There's nothing that the final boss can't say.
00:48The Rock is a director of the board, which means he's your boss.
00:53Becoming this new version has been the most gratifying decision that I've ever made.
01:00And you did it.
01:02But our story has just begun.
01:10Dwayne Johnson and I go back almost 40 years to a childhood.
01:15All of us in Honolulu, Hawaii have known each other for a long time.
01:20What we found is that after WrestleMania Philly and getting a couple months of The Rock back with WWE.
01:27The WWE universe had a huge demand to see him again.
01:33One thing about Rock is out of all of the businesses that he's across and he's had great success in.
01:39And if you gave him truth serum and said, what's your favorite business, he would tell you WWE.
01:44So we were coming out of Royal Rumble, which is one of our most popular events.
01:50And we were going into WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas, our Super Bowl, which we had big hopes for.
01:57So Elimination Chamber, again, bookended between Royal Rumble and WrestleMania Las Vegas.
02:01So here you had Elimination Chamber in Toronto with a tough Canadian economy.
02:08And it was a little bit of a concern as to how did we over deliver.
02:14We felt one big answer to that was to get Rock.
02:18We knew Travis Scott was coming to Elimination Chamber.
02:21He's a big WWE fan. We're obviously big fans of Travis.
02:24Rock gets on the phone with Triple H.
02:27They talk it through, beat by beat, pace by pace.
02:31All I know is each of them called me and said, we think we got it for Elimination Chamber.
02:45So how does the presses Rock is going to be there in New Orleans?
02:49And he will lead to a promo that will end that Elimination Chamber.
02:58Trying to drive up Elimination Chamber.
03:00Yeah, yeah, yeah.
03:00So basically call Cody out.
03:03That will lead Cody to thinking about it and him saying, I'll see you Elimination Chamber.
03:08You'll give me an answer, John.
03:14But I wanted to call you out here for something, Cody, because it's important.
03:17I want you to be my champion.
03:24I want you to think about it.
03:27At Elimination Chamber on March 1st, you give me your answer then.
03:32I love to watch Rock's promos because he's like in concert, but he doesn't have a script that he's going to adhere to verbatim.
03:40Every dream you've ever had, I can make come true.
03:45My brother, I want your soul.
03:53Rightfully so, when The Rock shows up, it can't just be for a special appearance and to wave some hands, raise an eyebrow and then leave.
04:01I'll see you in Toronto on March 1st at Elimination Chamber.
04:07It's got to be something seismic.
04:11I think in the moment, fans were liking it, but they weren't sure what it was going to be.
04:17Oh my God, he wants him to sell his soul.
04:19That's crazy.
04:20Chat, is Cody going to sell out?
04:23Will Cody Rhodes eventually turn heel, become corporate Cody?
04:27That's a very believable storyline.
04:30There are a lot of different theories as to what WWE could be cooking up here.
04:34And now we have more questions than answering.
04:36I don't know what we just watched, but I'm intrigued.
04:39I thought it was perfect.
04:40You always want to leave the fans wanting a little more.
04:45Whether they were going to get it or not, we knew they would.
04:48They didn't necessarily know that they would.
04:51At Elimination Chamber, we think we made wrestling history.
04:57Tonight, I officially announced my retirement from the WWE.
05:18I wish physically I could do this longer.
05:31From a professional standpoint, I hope the investment that was made in me returns a hundredfold.
05:38I don't know if I've seen that before.
05:40John Cena, one of the greatest performers in the history of our business,
05:49is at a place in time in his life where he is transitioning out of the business.
05:55He is moving on to Hollywood.
05:57He is doing other things.
05:59And John is going to come back for right at about one calendar year with a limited number of dates.
06:07And he has a 25-plus year career of aches, pains, and injuries that will dictate the performance that he gives us.
06:22If it was a movie, we would CGI John Cena and make him look like everybody's greatest memory of John Cena.
06:30It's not a way it works in our business. Reality drives what we do.
06:33Loud and clear by John Cena!
06:36I just want everybody to be entertained.
06:40I want to lead the business better than I found it, and I want to get out of my health.
06:43This farewell does not end tonight.
06:46We are going to build so many unforgettable lasts.
06:51The 2025 Elimination Chamber will be my last.
06:55Las Vegas Wrestlemania 2025 will be the last Wrestlemania I compete in.
07:10I went out into the bowl with the people.
07:12I was there, and I couldn't really hear what John was saying because the crowd was too loud.
07:17So when we'd gotten back, I was like, well, what was that?
07:19And he's just like, oh, I just said I'm retiring.
07:22He's earned the right to go out how he wants.
07:27John will be in programming, which means a top character slot in your programming.
07:33As amazing as that is, it comes with a lot of ifs, a lot of questions,
07:42and a lot of what are we sort of going to really get when we get into this.
07:47So, if you want some, hurry up and come get some.
07:52Because the last time is now.
08:10We've seen The Rock embrace the dark side in his latest return to the ring.
08:17In this final run, do you think there's any chance we see a darker side of John Cena?
08:21I don't know how much impact that would have.
08:24Because that goes heavily against what I value.
08:31I got three words, die, Rocky die.
08:36That's the gratitude I get from you pieces of crap.
08:39To be a heel, first and foremost, you've got to love people not liking you.
08:50If you can dribble this basketball 15 times consecutively, I'm going to give you $500.
08:57I think there's many categories for being a good heel.
09:13Are you kidding?
09:17What a despicable act that was.
09:21The truth of the matter is, I'm your father, Dominic.
09:27Am I making fun of you?
09:30No, sir.
09:30No, sir.
09:31No, sir.
09:31No, sir.
09:35Hulk Hogan's here.
09:36Yeah, but whose side is he on?
09:38Oh, my God.
09:39What the hell is going on?
09:41Probably the lowest shot ever given to professional wrestling.
09:45Totally fabricated emotion.
09:47It doesn't sell tickets.
09:49So, my legal name, and I need many of them, is Michael Joseph Seitz.
09:56I have been known as Lord Michael Hayes, Freebird Michael PSAs.
10:00The PS stands for purely sexy.
10:10Some people, they don't make good heels because they need adulation.
10:13They need to be cheered.
10:15They need to be approved by society.
10:19The last thing I ever needed was approval by society.
10:22We were rock and roll stars that fought for a living.
10:27And Santa Claus just kicked back by Eric.
10:31And I think that is not Santa Claus.
10:33That's Michael Hayes.
10:35I made a lot of money looking up at the lights.
10:38And what that means is it's laying on my back getting pinned.
10:41Because I was the bad guy.
10:43Michael Hayes and a war is taking place now.
10:46I had my opportunities where I would win.
10:51Leading to the big story.
10:54The final chapter.
10:55Where the good guy prevails.
10:57Life with Michael Hayes on an attempted syntax.
11:00In work, two, three.
11:02And Gary Bader returns it around.
11:04In this industry, winning is important.
11:06But it's not the only thing.
11:08Creating interest for the fans.
11:10That's what it's fucking all about.
11:13Here's the winner.
11:16In the confines of WWE, a baby face is your good guy.
11:20And a heel is your bad guy.
11:22My government name, my birth given name is Austin Watson.
11:27And then when I started on the independent wrestling scene,
11:30I was the Batman for a while.
11:32But I was dressed in red, white, and blue.
11:34And so my name eventually changed to Awesome Austin Creed.
11:38Which also Austin Creed is my gamer tag.
11:41But then my WWE name is Xavier Woods.
11:45I am a part of a group called The New Day.
11:47It's easily the greatest tag team of all time.
11:50The greatest trio.
11:51The greatest group.
11:53We took the world by storm.
11:54We've been babyface for a very long time.
11:56Very much the crowd favorite.
11:57Very much family fun energy.
12:01The members are myself, Kofi Kingston, and Big E.
12:04A few years before now, Big E had a terrible injury.
12:20Where he landed on the floor on his head upside down and broke his neck.
12:24And because of that, he was no longer able to wrestle anymore.
12:27And on December 2nd, it was our 10-year anniversary.
12:31And so, on the day of our anniversary.
12:34It's your boys, The New Day!
12:39E then decided to show up.
12:40Yes!
12:41And it just wouldn't be the same without him.
12:43You are seeing this hope of Big E, the crowd's favorite person in all of wrestling, more or less.
12:51The New Day have never truly felt like The New Day without this man by their side.
12:58I'm gonna be here to cheer for you, to root for you, to uplift you.
13:03I'm gonna be here every single week.
13:11To serve as your managers.
13:18A heel turn is when a babyface flips to the dark side.
13:22Now.
13:23And they become a heel.
13:26Now, you want to come back?
13:29E!
13:30You left us.
13:36I broke my neck!
13:37Yeah, you broke your neck.
13:39So what?
13:42You are never going to be medically clear.
13:47And since that's the case,
13:51get back to your desk where you belong.
13:56So now people despise us because of that, because we shunned you, because we told him,
14:05no, we don't want you to come here every week. We want you to go back home.
14:07Xavier's from Atlanta. He got kicked out of his building and now they're saying New Day sucks.
14:14New Day sucks!
14:15This chant that we have, this rhythm, this...
14:19We had a group chat and we said, we should do this chant, this clap, so that everybody knows that when
14:24you hear that, it's us. But now to hear that turned against me.
14:27New Day sucks!
14:29New Day sucks!
14:31New Day sucks!
14:33We have arenas of thousands of people saying that we suck. It... it's wild.
14:40Hold on, hold on, hold on. This is Atlanta's favorite son. He's come home.
14:45New Day sucks!
14:48So now we get to check out that heel side of things.
14:51New Day sucks!
14:52And I want them to boo me. That's what I define as success.
14:56New Day sucks!
14:57Nobody ever thought Xavier and Kofi would become assholes.
15:03And they did. It's a thin line between love and hate in this business.
15:06And his family has arrived.
15:10His father Alvin, his mother Angelita, his sister Amber.
15:13Mom! Dad, where have y'all been?
15:21Oh, my goodness.
15:25Oh, what?
15:29My sister!
15:30My sister!
15:31You suck!
15:32Hey!
15:34What?
15:35Do better!
15:36I cannot believe you!
15:36You suck!
15:37Until we've been together!
15:38What a moment!
15:40Lil Yachty and Xavier Woods' parents have turned because of his actions toward Big E.
15:47And Rey Mysterio trying to take advantage of the distraction.
15:51Covered by Rey Mysterio with the win!
15:55What's wrong with him, man? What's wrong with him?
16:07I don't know.
16:07I didn't raise him like that.
16:09I didn't raise him like that.
16:10I didn't raise him like that.
16:11It's a classic big turn.
16:13Got over amazingly.
16:15The key to the New Day heel turn was not let the audience see this coming.
16:22Audience loves to be surprised.
16:25The hardest thing in this business now, in this day and age of information and internet and people
16:33posting stuff and talking to their friends who then posted and everything else, is keeping
16:37something secret.
16:39There's not a show in the world from back in Dallas Dynasty up until Game of Thrones.
16:49If the scripts would have been released ahead of time, the stories would never have been that good.
16:56I don't think people need to know. And I think the magic is out there under the lights.
17:02I love the surprise. And that's the end goal, whether your audience is none, one, or a hundred thousand.
17:12For the last 20 years, John Cena has been the ultimate good guy in WWE.
17:18John Cena is the prototype, if you will, of what you'd want a WWE superstar to be as far as your top guy.
17:24Reliable, said yes to everything, just an unbelievable career.
17:29Sometimes people want some change, and so you've gotten some calls over the years for,
17:36man, wouldn't it be great if John Cena turned heel? And for the longest time,
17:40we decided not to do it, because for all the Make-A-Wish stuff that he did, the face of the company,
17:45the ambassador stuff that he did as far as the company goes, that would have to be taken away
17:49if he did something and fell to the dark side and became a heel.
17:53When we looked at John's retirement, we looked at how do we feature John
18:01and tell good stories throughout the year? And the easy answer is, well, you feature John Cena,
18:08and you put him against marquee opponents for a year.
18:11You know, Cody versus Cena, good guy versus good guy, babyface versus babyface, top guy versus former top guy.
18:17It's great. It's a WrestleMania main event story. It's awesome.
18:20I think for a while, we were okay with babyface Cena versus babyface Cody.
18:29But it's always important to us to over-deliver for our fans.
18:32We felt we needed Elimination Chamber to perform.
18:36What can we do to spruce up this show? There's one move we can make here. Let's call The Rock.
18:44When The Rock gets called back to WWE, I get called back into active duty, so to speak,
18:50to help work on the creative with whatever Rock's doing.
18:54I used to work at WWE as a writer from 1999 to 2015, head writer from 2002 to 2012.
19:02But the prospect of babyface John and babyface Cody felt a little dry to us.
19:09But just looking at it from the outside, like, let's throw some controlled chaos into this.
19:16So myself and Rock, we got together and we pitched something that was twofold.
19:23I had the idea of Cody needing to be Rock's champion. We had that as the hook.
19:32My brother, I want your soul.
19:36At Elimination Chamber on March 1st, you give me your answer then.
19:41We proposed Elimination Chamber, Cody turning down the final boss.
19:47And that was going to lead to Final Boss making an impromptu title match right then and there.
19:53That resulted in Kevin Owens, who had been in a storyline with Cody during that time,
20:00leaving with the championship.
20:01A new champion!
20:05Kevin Owens winning the title wasn't the end goal.
20:11The takeaway was whatever it is we do needs to be seismic.
20:16That's the big question.
20:17What is Cody going to say?
20:19What is he going to do?
20:20How are you going to pay this off at Chamber?
20:23If you say to me, who said it first?
20:33I don't know.
20:33I don't know.
20:34I don't know.
20:36Did Bruce remember?
20:38The three people that were involved were myself, Paul Levesque, and Ed Kosky.
20:43And we were challenged with an idea.
20:49In a way, it's like Marvel and the multiverse and all that stuff.
20:52There's all these alternative universes where this happens or that happens.
20:58You have to kind of play them out in your mind as to where do they go to and what is the best.
21:03Rock and his team made out the original offer as far as what we could possibly do at Elimination Chamber.
21:10The overall framework from Rock's team worked.
21:13The one issue we had was changing the championship that close to WrestleMania.
21:18All that being said, the idea from Rock's team did set the tone for how impactful this moment needed to be.
21:24So we're trying to figure out what could we do.
21:27The initial conversation I would say probably consisted of 45 minutes.
21:32Just the three of us on a Zoom call on a Tuesday night just got together and basically
21:40said like, well, we've got to do this.
21:42We've got to figure this out.
21:44And we came up with what if scenarios.
21:47What if the Rock makes an offer for Cody's soul in New Orleans?
21:51Then at Elimination Chamber, we wait until John Cena wins.
21:55John Cena with his fourth win inside Elimination Chamber.
22:00Cody comes out to congratulate him.
22:02So you've got both guys in the ring.
22:05Now Rock decides to upstage that moment and he comes out and wants his answer from Cody.
22:11The moment has arrived.
22:13And I think I was the first one to say, what if Cody accepts the offer and drops John Cena and sells out to the Rock?
22:19I want it all, Rock.
22:20And it was actually Bruce who said, what if we turn John Cena?
22:29Oh yeah, this is, this is it.
22:45It checks all the boxes.
22:48Cena turning heel adds a whole other layer to the, not just the Cody story, but the whole farewell tour and the whole rest of the year.
22:57If we could do that, that would be awesome.
23:00But we needed to get other people on board.
23:03There are five people that I talked to with a move this big.
23:07It's Rock.
23:08Obviously, it's Cody.
23:10Cena.
23:11Travis Scott.
23:12We want to help build this idea around.
23:15And then WWE president, of course, Nick Khan.
23:18So my first call is to Nick, who's also a board member along with Rock.
23:22I run the idea by him.
23:23Nick basically says, love all of it.
23:26So my next reach out to that point is to Rock.
23:33I hit him with, what if?
23:35What if, hear me out on this?
23:36And he just listened.
23:37And every now and then through the conversation, he would go, mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
23:42I wasn't sure if he was giving me the, mm-hmm, just get to the end so I can tell you how much I hate this or, right?
23:48And I got to the end and he was like, wow, man, I got to tell you, I think that's genius.
23:55Like, let's, you know, and he immediately started riffing thoughts and ideas, right?
24:00So we spent probably like another 30 minutes on the phone together talking about this.
24:04And the more we talked about it, the more we were both getting excited about it and like into it.
24:11My next conversation is with Travis Scott.
24:13I make sure Travis is comfortable with the creative.
24:18He loves it and says, let's do this.
24:25Somewhere near Cody hits me back.
24:27I get with Cody.
24:28When I hit him with it, he's like, like, holy shit.
24:31I didn't think that's what you were going to say, blah, blah, blah.
24:33Wow.
24:34That's really cool.
24:36Then I talk to John.
24:40John's the best with, like, he's like, well, before you say it, like, just know if this is what you believe in, I'm in.
24:46I said, John, okay, let's take the bullshit hat off.
24:50Now, this is not that a creative talking to you and, you know, you, the performer.
24:56I said, I am asking John Cena, the human being, Paul Levesque is talking to you.
25:02Give me your gut.
25:04This impacts John Cena, the real life human being and it impacts his movies and it impacts his PR schedule and
25:11impacts everything.
25:12We're honest with each other.
25:13I said, give me your gut.
25:14You like it or you don't.
25:16And he was like, I like it a lot, actually.
25:19And when I hung up the phone with him, within a minute, minute and a half, I've gotten, like,
25:24three different texts from him of thoughts, ideas.
25:27And so I'm like, he's engaged.
25:30So once we get to that point now, it's a coordinated effort.
25:33Everybody is getting together.
25:34Rock's reaching out to Cody.
25:36Nick reaching out to Rock.
25:37Cody's reaching out to Cena.
25:38Cena's reaching out to everybody.
25:40So one of the things that we all talked about on the phone was, let's keep this tight.
25:45Nobody gets this information that isn't on this phone call.
25:49This is a PLE that is in a stadium.
25:59It's not called WrestleMania.
26:00That alone, stadium business is what we're in now.
26:03It's a beautiful thing.
26:10The main event spot of WrestleMania is still undecided.
26:15This year, so much of it depends on the Elimination Chamber.
26:19You have a who's who in an era of who's who, vying for the opportunity of the main event.
26:29How you doing, boss?
26:29How you doing, brother?
26:30Good to see you, man.
26:31Good to see you.
26:31I can't wait to watch your work.
26:32Can't wait.
26:33Rock is very much interlinked with my career now.
26:36It's not something I ever really had on my bingo card.
26:39It's not something I really ever could have foreseen.
26:41He wants me to be his champion representing his bidding in WWE or he just wants to, who knows,
26:49whip me and rip my face off.
26:51I think it's really fun because this is the most confused the WWE audience and wrestling fans and
26:57WWE Universe has ever been just because this story has really been a fun mystery.
27:02So, we'll know tonight.
27:03The place is going to be nuts.
27:04I know.
27:05It's giving WrestleMania vibes.
27:06Fucking crazy.
27:07Yeah.
27:08It's huge.
27:08I don't know.
27:10Sentimental value?
27:12They don't work anymore.
27:14At all.
27:14They don't stay up.
27:16No, they don't.
27:17But whatever.
27:19Look at that.
27:19Good as soon.
27:21Yeah, still wearing the Kmart jorts.
27:22Yeah.
27:26These knee pads are original OVW knee pads.
27:30Because I used to have like four or five sets that I'd wear with different gear.
27:35And these ones have just gone the way through.
27:37So, this is it.
27:39These are 2001.
27:42One thing I'm not hearing yet, and maybe you guys have this and we're just doing the Reader's Digest version.
27:46Cena kicking out of something and feeling him almost getting eliminated.
27:51Those nuances to this desperation last match possibly.
27:56I need to feel you almost just gotten eliminated.
27:59That dream evaporated.
28:01I don't think there needs to be anything special done with that.
28:03What I don't want to do is to overtell that story.
28:07No, you need to.
28:07To the end.
28:10It's not as shocking.
28:13What an image.
28:14It is a unique position when you're looking at Seth Rollins,
28:17Logan Paul, Damian Priest, Drew McIntyre,
28:20Cena Funk and John Cena.
28:22Yeah.
28:22And they're in a match to determine who gets to wrestle you.
28:25That's why I had an idea where we do something and I do kick out of the hand.
28:31So, your facial expressions can be like,
28:33That's what we can lean into.
28:34That didn't work.
28:35Leading into what's he got to do.
28:38What's he willing to do.
28:39In my head, it's probably, I'm always too cute.
28:43But at the end, when I get stomped, my idea is you're going for the hold and I'm scrambling and
28:49I make it to the ropes and I kick you off.
28:52So, you land on your ass, so you have a clear view of all of it.
28:55And as I'm pulling myself up, here comes a stomp, stomp.
28:59That's great.
29:00And you see it.
29:01And then instead of going for this because it already didn't work, I'm already there.
29:06You grab my ankle, you pull me up.
29:08Yeah, fuck you.
29:09I'll be putting me in.
29:10And then I'm looking at him like, fuck you, you know.
29:15So, Seth is watching as he fades.
29:18Nice.
29:18Can we go in the ring and we're going to reuse this rehearsal time while we can?
29:22Yes.
29:23Yes.
29:23We're going to leave it?
29:24No, they're going to leave it down for us while we do it and then raise it.
29:27You can't prepare for an Elimination Chamber match.
29:30It's possibly the stupidest match that we do here.
29:37The structure is unforgiving, not in like a PR way, in a very much a,
29:42it hurts like hell and it doesn't move and it doesn't make any noise.
29:46It's your worst enemy.
29:47Like whoever designed this really doesn't like human beings, or at least us.
29:53It's just so high, dude.
29:54It's just so fucking high, dude, you think?
29:59At TV that day, I basically said,
30:03when this match is finished, there's aftermath.
30:06They didn't know any of it.
30:08Talent didn't know except for people that had to be in there.
30:11You know, I think at that point they started thinking, well,
30:13something big is going to happen and they're just not sure what.
30:16It wasn't until the day of that he pulled me aside and he said,
30:21hey, you seen this turning heel tonight?
30:23And I went, that makes sense now.
30:25There were so many people that are nine times out of 10 in the know that were not in the know on this one.
30:31It was very well-guarded secret.
30:34What's going on?
30:36Let me grab you along as quietly as we can.
30:40At the very end of the night, whatever we do.
30:43How are we getting him out of there?
30:45We had a bunch of producers and referees and help him out of the ring.
30:47So I'll be sitting there going, oh my God, so much.
30:49Yes, now what?
30:49Yeah, yeah, yeah.
30:50Yeah.
30:50No, I mean, I don't think they're going to fucking, John's not going to cripple him.
30:53He's going to beat him up.
30:55Hey, man.
30:56How are you?
30:56How are you?
30:57Yeah, I'm good.
30:57I'm good.
30:57Self?
30:58Great.
30:58Feeling good?
30:59Yeah.
30:59How's everything for you?
31:01Good.
31:01Good, good, good, good.
31:02Yeah, yeah, yeah.
31:03Everything's great.
31:05I'd love to talk to you about a couple of things on the execution of tonight.
31:08Just on my opinion versus, you know, what we want to do and just hash that out.
31:14I get Trav, the story is, but in this, you're going to be way bigger.
31:19Yeah.
31:19I feel like as soon as he's in position, we transition out of his music to your music,
31:24that it just feels like the final boss should be the last thing that we see.
31:30Yes, I love that.
31:31And they're waiting.
31:32That's what I'm saying.
31:32They're waiting.
31:33They're waiting.
31:33Okay, they haven't been out yet.
31:35Shit's coming.
31:35Yes.
31:36And let me ask you this.
31:37In your mind, do you see this as you already had a plan with John?
31:41Or do you see this?
31:43Okay.
31:43Okay.
31:43Yes.
31:43And we discussed it today.
31:45We were like, is this, he already talked to you, John, and the plan is in place?
31:50Or is this, John was like, he told him to go, fuck that.
31:54I'll take that.
31:54Yeah.
31:55You know what I mean?
31:55I don't know which.
31:56I think the whole time it's business with John.
31:58I don't think it has to do with our souls, his soul.
32:00It's just business.
32:01I also think what that does, it puts us in a position where then it all becomes unpredictable.
32:05Yeah.
32:06If there's a moment happening between Cody and John, do we hold on you doing anything
32:13physical where it's just you sort of overseeing all the shit?
32:16I sort of felt like leaving the physical on John, the heat is that you orchestrated it.
32:21Mm-hmm.
32:21And sort of like in the movie, the top fucking ultimate bad guy that you've got to get through
32:26doesn't do physical shit until later in the film.
32:28Yeah.
32:29Tell me what you think of this.
32:30I agree.
32:31I feel like he tells me, hey, go fuck yourself.
32:33Yeah.
32:34Right?
32:35Let that cook.
32:38Look at John.
32:42Whatever the fuck it is.
32:43Yeah.
32:44Bang.
32:44Bang.
32:45Once the beatdown happens, come in, final boss comes in, reveal the belt.
32:54At that time, John would have ripped his shirt off, and I think he should go full on.
32:57Yeah.
32:58Hyper snook up.
32:59Yeah.
32:59Everything gets ripped.
33:02Tell me what you think of this.
33:03John, hold his feet, trap, hold his arms.
33:06And just one big chance.
33:09Yeah.
33:10Something like that?
33:11Yeah.
33:11Yes.
33:12Let's all get together and chat about it.
33:13Just make sure everybody's on the same page, but I'm feeling that.
33:15Love it.
33:18It's going to be bonkers.
33:21Bonkers.
33:22Bonkers.
33:23Should be good.
33:24Excited.
33:29The elimination chamber slowly being lowered.
33:33The survivor of this match will face Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania.
33:45Let's go, baby.
33:46Come on.
33:46Come on now.
33:47Come on.
33:48It's that time.
33:48This is it.
33:49It's that time.
33:53The following is the men's elimination chamberman.
34:02The gun is here.
34:11John Cena has 10 months left in his WWE career.
34:20You got your chapstick ready, Michael Cohen, like kissing some John Cena ass.
34:25Yeah.
34:26Your lips are blistering.
34:28Well, it doesn't come much bigger than the elimination chamber and the prize for the winner
34:35of going on to challenge Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania.
34:39Dude, I just pray to God nobody gets hurt because I would feel like I'd fuck this thing up.
34:49They just broke the chamber.
34:51A light fell off from the inside with the force that threw McIntyre's body.
34:55And CM Punk is just an eggy ball in time.
35:01The Maverick.
35:02Logan Paul enters the chamber for the second time in his career.
35:06Love him or loathe him, he's always appointment viewing.
35:10Because of this.
35:16I like it.
35:16I like it.
35:17I like it.
35:18CM Punk and Cena chomping at the pick.
35:23To get into the action.
35:26Cena looks like a goddamn video game character in the pod there.
35:30He looks like a video game character in the pod there.
35:32Yeah.
35:33Stay with John here.
35:36It's a John comeback.
35:37A couple AA's in the middle of it.
35:39Stay with John.
35:40John Cena enters the final elimination match of his career.
35:45Doing my best out there to give him all I got.
35:49Every ounce of energy I'm trying to give away.
35:51John Cena takes out Paul.
35:53And the goat is out of line.
35:59John Cena with a five knuckle shuffle.
36:04Punk's been waiting since Rumble for this.
36:07John Cena with an opportunity to get back to WrestleMania.
36:11And perhaps win a 17th in record setting world title.
36:15Punk has yet to enter.
36:16He will in 15 seconds.
36:19I mean let's just say it how it is.
36:21This is a must win for CM Punk.
36:22And now Punk who was eliminated by Logan Paul at the Royal Rumble.
36:27Gets a chance of revenge.
36:30Now.
36:32Now it's Neil.
36:32We can fucking go.
36:35And they're on the way.
36:36And everybody's into the matchup.
36:38Two eliminations to Saul.
36:43Punk is fired up.
36:45And he'll never get a better opportunity than the one that has been presented to him now.
36:50Carcasses lying around the ring.
36:52Bang.
36:54And now CM Punk promised that Paul was gonna go to sleep.
36:57And we are down to three.
37:02And we are down to three.
37:06Logan Paul has been eliminated.
37:10CM Punk out here burying the dreams of the maverick.
37:15And here we go.
37:18Punk and Cena moving such a fabric of this company in many different ways over the past couple of decades.
37:26Everybody's on their feet.
37:28Not one person sitting down.
37:29Two of the best in history trying to achieve what they believe is their destiny.
37:37Cena looking for an AA.
37:38CM Punk now.
37:39With Rollins up.
37:40We're gonna go to sleep.
37:42Into A.
37:43AA cover by Punk.
37:48One, two, three.
37:50We are down to Punk and Cena.
37:52Cena and CM Punk.
37:55Let us turn back the clock some 15 years to one of the great rivalries in WWE history.
38:05Two legends, two icons, two Hall of Famers, one shot at WrestleMania.
38:13Oh wait, oh god, oh god, oh god.
38:17A stomp by Seth Rollins.
38:20A stomp onto the steel outside of the chamber.
38:26And John Cena now.
38:28A desperate Cena, a desperate Cena.
38:30Dragging Punk, center of the ring.
38:32STF is in.
38:35Rollins gonna stomp to Punk.
38:37Punk is fading.
38:38CM Punk is fading.
38:40Punk trying to survive.
38:45There's no fight in it.
38:46Chuck Rollins just screwed CM Punk.
38:49John Cena's going to WrestleMania.
38:52Here is your winner,
38:55Giannina.
39:02John Cena has tied Triple H with his fourth win inside Elimination Chamber.
39:10What feels better to me than them cheering or booing is when I know that they're satisfied.
39:20That's special.
39:20The surprise is special.
39:23The end of that match, nobody knew John's gonna turn heel.
39:27We have a truck with a director in it and, you know, all the technical people that need to run stuff.
39:35The truck didn't know what was going to happen.
39:38Take five.
39:39My name is Marty Miller.
39:41I'm a director.
39:42I've been with the WWE almost 30 years.
39:45So basically responsible for what you see live on television, which is the actual cutting of cameras and the flow of the show.
39:55At Elimination Chamber, when the Cena segment was gonna happen, Paul had come to me and said,
40:01uh, look, just follow along and everything will line up.
40:05That doesn't happen every day.
40:07I was on headset.
40:09I basically said, everybody lay out and I'll walk you through the shots step by step.
40:15Cody's gonna come out.
40:20And John's reaction.
40:24Biggest night of the American Nightmare's life.
40:28So he and John are gonna face off.
40:30When they shake hands, we'll give it a second and we'll interrupt with Brock.
40:34Here they come.
40:36Here we go, baby.
40:40What's up, Chad?
40:42Badass, baby.
40:45Fuck.
40:46There's a lot of people there, man.
40:48Yep.
40:49Hang on.
40:51And go.
41:03We're usually in on all the meetings.
41:05We know what's gonna happen, when it's gonna happen, and how we're gonna try to execute that.
41:09But with that particular segment, we were kind of, you know, we were just kind of following along.
41:14They're gonna get in the ring.
41:15Rock's gonna cut a promo.
41:16Cody's gonna cut a promo.
41:18He's going to tell Rock to fuck, go fuck himself.
41:22I'm okay not clipping it.
41:24Okay?
41:25Everybody needs to let this air.
41:27Cody and John, they're gonna hug.
41:31They're gonna disengage, and, and from there, as long as you're on a wide two-shot, you'll see what happens.
41:37I cut it in real time.
41:42I cut it in real time.
41:46Big decision for that man.
41:48Cody Rhodes.
41:50The moment has arrived.
41:52So Rock's got a promo, Cody's got a rebuttal that ends in go fuck yourself.
41:58I want your mind.
42:00I want your soul.
42:02I need your soul.
42:06If the answer's yes, then the American Nightmare will live forever.
42:13If your answer is no, then tonight, the dream dies.
42:19My soul no longer belongs to me.
42:26I gave my soul to this ring and these people a long time ago.
42:34Hey, Rock, go fuck yourself.
42:43What?
42:47One of the most shocking things I've ever heard said in the history of saying things.
42:53Yeah, don't get too tight here.
42:56Watch for Cody and Cena.
42:57Rock's gonna start to walk and watch for Cody and Cena to go for the handshake and the hug.
43:02Ready, four.
43:03Ready, here it is.
43:04Two.
43:05Give two camera.
43:05Two camera.
43:06Take two.
43:06John's face.
43:07Take three.
43:08Take three.
43:09Rock's face.
43:11Ready, three.
43:11Yes.
43:12Take three.
43:13Big shot.
43:13Cool.
43:14Everybody.
43:21What the?
43:31Oh, my God, John, what the hell are you doing?
43:38So listen to me.
43:40John is going to beat the shit out of him.
43:43Stay on Cena.
43:46John, what the hell?
43:49Cena with brass knuckles.
43:52It's a Rolex.
43:53It's a Rolex, Cole.
43:57John, John, you want to go out like this?
44:01Let me see Cody's face.
44:05Cody's face.
44:06Three, three, three.
44:08See, wider.
44:09Yeah, Travis.
44:10Watch Travis.
44:14Somebody stop this.
44:17Cena, Cena, Cena.
44:19After everything he's accomplished in his career, he's gonna stoop to this shit.
44:23This is one of the most disgusting displays that I've ever witnessed.
44:32Nope, so we're all the way down to the end.
44:34We're gonna get a three shot of him at the end of the walkway.
44:37Six.
44:38Take six.
44:39Nice shit, guys.
44:51Fucking A.
44:53It was like a really cool moment for all of us.
44:56There's very few moments in time where that happens.
44:58The rarest moments of all.
45:00John Cena turns heel.
45:03If that got out, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now.
45:08Because it wouldn't have been that big a deal.
45:11But when you hold it as tight as you can,
45:13you get the honest reaction of the audience?
45:25Let's, uh, take a ride.
45:29Hey, that was fucking awesome.
45:31Feel good?
45:31Yeah.
45:32Fucking incredible.
45:34There was a collective gasp from the audience
45:38when they saw Cena's face and his expression change.
45:42That's where the money is.
45:45That's why you have to be able to keep secrets.
45:48And it's harder to do now than ever.
45:50Hey, that was awesome, dude.
45:52That was awesome.
45:52Good shit.
45:53In a million years, in his retirement year,
45:55there's no way John was turning heel.
45:57You guys had no idea, right?
45:59No.
45:59Yeah, we hadn't killed anybody.
46:01This is all Paul Levesque, Dwayne Johnson, John Cena,
46:05Cody Rhodes, Rock's creative team, our creative team,
46:09and ultimately our fans.
46:11And their response to it, it made magic.
46:15To me, that's the purest form of what we do.
46:21When, gotcha.
46:23The moment he held and looked at me, you know what I mean?
46:27Yeah, yeah, yeah.
46:28You're like, oh, oh, oh, yeah.
46:33No!
46:33No!
46:34No!
46:34No!
46:34No!
46:35No!
46:35No!
46:36No!
46:36No!
46:37No!
46:37No!
46:38No!
46:38No!
46:39No!
46:39No!
46:40No!
46:40No!
46:41No!
46:41No!
46:42No!
46:43No!
46:44No!
46:45No!
46:46No!
46:47No!
46:48No!
46:49No!
46:50No!
46:51Ain't no way John Cena turned into the bad guy.
46:54John Cena finally turned heel!
46:56We've been waiting like a decade for this!
46:58I have never once not been surprised by our audience.
47:05They're incredible.
47:07They all just want to be involved, man.
47:13This is one of the, this is one of the most disgusting displays that I've ever witnessed.
47:20John Cena and the Rock, I hate them so much.
47:23Because I hate them!
47:25He's like, I hate them!
47:27He's playing them.
47:28Back at the center.
47:30He's playing them.
47:31Lay it in.
47:31Yeah.
47:32He laid them.
47:33Oh, I heard it!
47:34Oh, fuck!
47:35Yeah, yeah.
47:36There was nothing I could do.
47:41Hey, are you okay?
47:52It's always crazy being in there.
47:54I know you've been in front of the biggest crowds in the world.
47:56It's a nuts scenario out there.
47:58Well, that's it.
48:06You got the fever.
48:07Bro, anytime, and whenever the next segment is, whatever it may be, I'm here for you.
48:13So whatever you need.
48:14As far as the heel turn goes, I appreciate the question.
48:18But anything in the realm of what we do, I don't like to spoil it.
48:24WrestleMania season just got a whole lot different.
48:29John Cena walks away as your winner is headed to WrestleMania.
48:31When I give you this information, if I do, it might spoil it for somebody.
48:38Do you understand?
48:45Many other performers talk about the dopamine rush of when your music hits the noise.
48:55I much more prefer the surprise.
48:58Is that the answer you're looking for?
