00:02A guy walked into a local juice bar there,

00:04but instead of ordering a smoothie,

00:06he ordered the employee to hand over all of the money in the register.

00:18The employee is handing over the money as fast as she can,

00:21but apparently it's not fast enough.

00:25He grows impatient and starts grabbing the money himself.

00:30But it looks like this guy's fortunes are about to change very quickly.

00:41The Good Samaritan tries to get him to stop,

00:43not realizing the guy is armed.

00:53The suspect makes a break for the door.

00:56The gun falls to the floor.

01:09And then the rest of the gun falls to the floor.

01:14The suspect tries to escape.

01:16And then the employee locks the door.

01:22The money falls to the floor,

01:28and then the suspect falls to the floor.

01:33With no cash and no gun,

01:36the would-be thief gets up off the floor

01:40and exits the store empty-handed.

01:44We're now joined by that Good Samaritan, Ali Hadma.

01:48It turns out you actually work next door,

01:50and the manager called you while they were being robbed.

01:53Yeah, my phone rings,

01:55and I'm like, hey, what's going on?

01:57She's like, come.

01:58So mind you, I didn't get a warning like he has a gun or anything.

02:01So I'd be walking into Varajous thinking like,

02:04okay, they might need help.

02:05But when I see the robbery taking money right in front of me,

02:07I just couldn't believe what's happening right in front of me.

02:10This cannot be true.

02:11At what point did you realize he had a gun?

02:14When I got close to him and he told me I got a gun.

02:17So that's where I start attacking the guy,

02:20trying to grab his gun,

02:21because you can see in the video that he has a gun down.

02:23He was wrestling to leave.

02:25I was wrestling to get that gun from him.

02:30When did you realize the gun was a fake?

02:33When I grabbed it, I threw it off.

02:36And it hit the floor, and it broke.

02:38And it broke.

02:39Real guns usually don't break when they land on the floor, do they?

02:43Yes, it broke.

02:45So then what happened?

02:46I tried to pick him up and put him on the floor.

02:49And then I took him down and put my knee on his chest.

02:51That's where I told him, you can leave now.

02:55Wow.

02:56Now, how's the employee doing?

02:57She's the manager, right?

02:59Yeah, she's the manager.

03:03So I know all the owners.

03:25As for the suspect, Varaj Lamar Scott, he was captured about an hour after leaving the shop

03:31and was charged with armed robbery.

03:33His next court date is going to be March 13th.

03:35It's coming home after leaving the shop and was saved by the mettre in the shop.
