00:00What's up guys, Jose here at shreddeddad.com. Today I'm going to give you a comparison between
00:04Truelap adjustable dumbbells and Newell adjustable dumbbells. Starting off with the weight range,
00:09Truelap over here goes from 8.5 to 92 pounds in 3.5 pound increments. That's 26 pairs of dumbbells
00:15or 52 dumbbells in total that's going to be replaced by Truelap. Now Newell here goes from
00:215 to 80 pounds in 5 pound increments. It's going to replace 16 pairs of dumbbells or 32 dumbbells
00:26in total. Now we're looking at the handle. The handle on the Truelap is going to be wider,
00:31a wider diameter, and it's also going to be longer compared to the Newellbell handle which is thinner
00:37and shorter. Now the handle here does have a more aggressive knurling than the one over here than
00:41Truelap. Now as far as looking from the outside, Truelap over here has mostly metal parts. So
00:48the plates are metal. This area here is metal. The handle is metal. And when we look at Newellbell
00:54here, a Newellbell has metal. The plates are metal. The handle is metal. But there's also
00:58plastic pieces here. The male and female pieces that interconnect each other are plastic. This
01:03area here that houses the dialing mechanism on the inside is plastic, hard plastic. So
01:10as far as plastic versus metal goes, you see more metal here on Truelap versus here on the
01:16Newellbell. That's not to say the internal components are not plastic because you can see there's some
01:21plastic here at the end of the handle that I'm sure goes into the internal components. So
01:26as far as the metal goes, more metal goes to the Truelap side. Now when we look at the length of the
01:34dumbbells, these are slightly longer than the Newellbells. But at the same time, you're getting
01:38a lot more weight here. So a slight difference in the length. As you can see, the weight plates here
01:43are very thin as compared to the Newellbell weight plates. So those are the main differences. Now as far
01:49as the price goes, this one here, Truelap sells for $800. Newellbell sells for $750. And I have a
01:56coupon code. If you use coupon code shredded, that's going to give you $40 off the Truelap dumbbell.
02:02So the price is very similar, but you're getting more weight on the Truelap side. Now as far as the
02:08similarities go, they both use interlocking plates where they interlock into each other with a male and
02:13female piece. And then you have the rod that extends from the handle going through the middle of the
02:18weight plates. And that's how they stay in place. Now, both of these have a twisting handle. They
02:24both twist from side to side in order to change weight. So they have the same mechanism. They lock
02:29in place when they're off the base. So you can't turn the handle. You cannot turn the handle when
02:34the dumbbells are off the base. So that keeps them safe. And just like every adjustable dumbbell,
02:38they're going to have some rattle. And that's because these have moving parts all over. So let me show
02:44you this. If I lift this up and I shake it or I turn it, you hear there's a little bit of a rattle.
02:52Same on this side here. I'm going to select the same weight. If I lift it up and I move it or twist it,
03:01it's going to have a rattle. So very similar like any other adjustable dumbbell, they're going to have
03:06some rattle because they have so many moving parts. So that's all there's to it. Gave you the differences,
03:11give you the similarities. If you have any other questions, leave them down in the comments below.
