Intense floods strike Romania as wildfires rage across Turkey and Albania

In Turkey, three volunteer firefighters were killed when their vehicle overturned near Bursa, and at least 17 people have died in fires since late June.

00:00Heavy rain swept across northeastern Romania overnight into Monday,
00:07causing flash floods that killed at least one person and forced hundreds to flee.
00:13Several villages and small towns were affected as one of the rivers in northern Romania
00:18had its highest flow in the last five decades, according to a local official.
00:23Helicopters were deployed to save people stranded in flooded houses.
00:28Meanwhile, neighboring Turkey and Albania continued to deal with widespread wildfires amid extreme summer conditions.
00:36Blazes erupted near Bursa, Turkey's fourth-largest city, over the weekend.
00:41A wildfire to the northeast of the city had been largely extinguished,
00:45but another to the south continued to burn,
00:48although its intensity had been significantly reduced, according to the foreign minister.
00:53Further west, the Albanian Defense Ministry have reported six separate fires on Monday,
00:58following two weeks of wildfires that have destroyed thousands of hectares of forest.
