Firefighters battle wildfires in Greece and Turkey, prompting evacuations and emergency response

00:00A new wildfire in Greece prompted evacuations in coastal areas south of Athens, as firefighters
00:09in neighbouring Turkey remained locked in a battle to contain flames, tearing through

00:18The Greek wildfire broke out in scrubland in eastern Attica.
00:23It prompted evacuations and a large-scale emergency response, according to firefighting officials.
00:30Greece's emergency alert system issued evacuation warnings to residents in the area, advising
00:35them to move away as firefighters battled the blaze.
00:41Emergency responders in Turkey are also fighting wildfires, especially in the popular tourist
00:47region of Izmir.
00:49The deadly wildfires have killed at least two people, including a forest worker and
00:54an 81-year-old man.
00:56Most of the wildfires in Turkey are now under control.
00:59However, they've damaged or destroyed around 200 homes and forced the evacuation of tens
