Best Book Yet? Justify's Latest Foals Turning Heads

Coming off a breakout year in 2023, Justify was rewarded with his best book of mares in 2024. Many of the 70 Group 1 winners or producers that visited Justify that year were among Coolmore's elite broodmare bands in Ireland and the U.S.  Here we visit some of those mares and their new Justify foals.

00:00Triple crown winner Justify entered stud with sky-high expectations, but he quickly lived up

00:07to the hype. Following a breakout season in 2023, the son of Scat Daddy was rewarded with a book

00:13that featured 70 Group 1 winners or producers. Poolemore supported their super sire with over

00:19100 mares, many of which were from among the best of their broodmare band in Ireland. Now,

00:24the results of those elite matings suggest that the best is yet to come for Justify.

00:30Justify's career at stud, he retired as a triple crown winner, so was always heavily supported, but

00:35you know, since his second crop season in 2023, having City of Troy, opera singer, and just FYI,

00:44all be champion two-year-olds in the United States and Europe, you know, the demand took off and he

00:49really kind of solidified his spot as a global presence. The Magna family had a lot of faith

00:54in him from the start. And, you know, when he came out as a global super sire, it really kind of

01:01solidified that support. As a result of that, you know, in 2024, we sent over 100 mares of our own to

01:08him. You know, logistically, it was a big operation, but when you have a stallion that has come out as

01:15such a great outcross option for these Sadler's Wells, Galileo, Danehill, Fastnet, Rockline mares,

01:23it really is special. Coolmore, Ireland, we brought over a number of mares, you know, just to name a few

01:29was Ylang Ylang, Toy, Alpha Centauri, Alpine Star, Mother Earth. So from Coolmore America,

01:36we sent a number of our own mares, including Stellar Wind, Gameen, Rushing Fall, Zeta Zee,

01:43and then our clientele over here also sent a number of high-quality mares, including Songbird,

01:49Malathat, Kentucky Oaks winner, Ida, Finite, Kamari, all Group 1 winners by Munnings, Breeders' Cup

01:56champion Philly Pizza Bianca. Newspaper of Record, who's by Lope de Vega, was an unbelievable race

02:03mare. She won the 2018 Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf. The Newspaper of Record, Colt, checks all the boxes

02:09for us. He's got size, scope, and strength. He's a powerful mover, and he's one of the highest-rated

02:14foals on the farm currently. Together Forever, who's the dam of four-time, Group 1 winnings,

02:19champion City of Troy, now has a foal sister on the ground to him. She's beautiful, she's elegant,

02:24she's presence about her also, she's a powerful mover. Justify clearly stamps his stock. The

02:30majority of them are quality, they're strong, they walk well, and the majority of them have

02:34that big white blaze. He's a big stallion, but he's very versatile in the types of mares

02:39he's received and what they've produced. Having Group 1 winners on turf and dirt in, say, for

02:45instance, Ireland, England, and France, and the United States on dirt at the same time, makes

02:50him a transatlantic superstar. As well as that, shuttling to Australia and also having high

02:55performers winning greatest stakes races down there is very important as well.

03:00I believe in the United States, you could compare him at a very early stage to More Than

03:05Ready. More Than Ready was an unbelievable shuttling stallion. He shuttled for 19 years

03:09straight, and he's established himself as a very important outcross stallion for us. He's

03:16established himself as one of the best in the world. The majority of the highest rated foals

03:20on the farm are all by Justify, and I'm sure a number of them will go to Europe and race

03:24out of Bally Doyle, and a number of them will stay here, and hopefully he will continue to do what

03:29he's done at a very early stage of his stallion career, and that's win on a worldwide stage,

03:35and be that very important one-in-a-million stallion that can do it all everywhere, on every

03:40surface, at every distance.

03:46One-in-a-million stallion, one-in-a-million stallion, one-uh-in-a-virle, and a

03:55couple of them will have his best to achieve that, and that's basically the most original

03:55function of men.
