00:00I'm happy to answer any questions.
00:06We have no need to move forward.
00:15There's two paths, we're kicking it, it's the right question.
00:18There's two paths.
00:19There's the cleanest path to be candid as it relates to asking the voters that
00:24enacted this in the first place to consider the new conditions.
00:29I'm reminded of, I think it was the 1865 speech of Lincoln, who said the case is
00:35new, so we must think anew, but most importantly, we must act anew, to act the
00:43voters of the state of California to reconsider on the basis of the case being
00:47anew here in California.
00:50But the legislature is kicking the tires and we're working with the legislature on
00:55that alternative path as well.
00:56So we're just we're we're in the process of a deliberative process, very
01:02intentional process of looking at different pathways and looking at
01:06different possibilities.
01:07But it is predicated on Texas moving forward.
01:10So our message is that we're going to let Californians figure out California, we're going to
01:32use every tool at our disposal in the state of Texas to confront this very illegal
01:38redistricting process that is going to be done on the backs of historic African
01:42American and Latino districts.
01:45So we were coming to share the state of play in the state of Texas, but we have no
01:51influence, nor do we want to even suggest how California should perceive.
01:55We leave that in the capable hands of Governor Newsom.
