Trump Hits 'Incompetent' Governor Gavin Newsom Over Black Outs And Brown Outs In California

During a cabinet meeting Tuesday, President Trump spoke about Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA).

00:07The last jobs report, Mr. President, in the last jobs report, the manufacturing jobs actually lost 7,000 jobs.

00:13When will the investments that you've been talking about have an effect on anything?

00:17Well, they're building the plants now. About seven have started.

00:20We're going to have hundreds started within a short period of time.

00:24Lee Zeldin, who may be the most important man in this room, I'm sorry,

00:28but he's the one that gets the permits.

00:30Whereas he's the one that has to get the permits for the plants and the factories and permits that used to take five years.

00:36He's getting in record setting times.

00:39AI, we're leading China a lot in AI.

00:43And if we go with this, you know, I'm allowing the plants to build their own electric.

00:48I'm allowing them to become an electric utility so they can produce their own electricity

00:54because we need double the elect to be successful with AI, which is the biggest thing now.

00:59We need double the electricity that we have, which is hard to believe.

01:03We need even more than that.

01:04And they're building plants with their own electricity substations.

01:08They don't have to use the grid.

01:10And anything they build extra, they're putting into the grid.

01:13So we're supplying the grid with brand new electric sources.

01:17And, you know, it's funny when they came to see me, they never even asked for that.

01:22The reason they didn't, they thought that was an impossibility.

01:24You're not allowed to build your own electric.

01:26These are massive investments that are being made in building electricity for their plants.

01:32And they're going to have, I think, Doug, a lot of electricity left over.

01:35And that electricity is going to be passed into the grid and give us no more.

01:40You know, like, you look at California.

01:42They have blackouts and brownouts every week.

01:45They're totally out of control.

01:47They have a really incompetent governor.
