00:00from Scotland media
00:01and other nations are joining us
00:06I know your nation is joining us
00:08and we have all of the European nations
00:11joining us and others also have called
00:13and they want to be helpful
00:15so we're going to set up food centers
00:16and where the people can walk in
00:18and no boundaries
00:19we're not going to have fences
00:21and you know they can't
00:23they see the food from 30
00:25you would say yards away
00:28and they see the food
00:30it's all there
00:31but nobody's at it
00:32because they have fences set up
00:33that nobody can even get it
00:34it's crazy what's going on over there
00:36so we're going to work very closely together
00:39with your country
00:41great country
00:42we also discussed inside
00:45that we are
00:47you know there's a whole new thing happening
00:48with regard to energy from nuclear
00:51and the prime minister is
00:53looking at that very strongly
00:55and I know you have
00:56Rolls Royce nuclear plants
00:58that sounds pretty good
00:59right
00:59I love that
01:00what a great brand that is
01:02but you're also doing
01:03the Rolls Royce
01:04or the nuclear plants
01:06the smaller plants
01:07we're doing smaller and bigger
01:08but the small is interesting
01:11they do a small plant
01:13very easy
01:13very safe
01:14and as they need more
01:16they hook up another plant
01:17and they have a series of plants
01:18instead of
01:19you know doing the 20 billion dollar plant
01:21that gets tough
01:23for a lot of people
01:24a lot of people to do
01:25so we're just studying that
01:27and it sounds like you're
01:28you're very far progressed
01:30but it's a great thing you're doing
01:31on nuclear
01:31we opened up nuclear
01:33about two months ago
01:34and it's now safe
01:36and very inexpensive
01:37no we see civil nuclear
01:39as a big part of the future
01:40as we go to sustainable
01:43independent energy
01:44and I think that
01:45between the two of us
01:47we can work very much
01:48more closely
01:48and we've agreed
01:50that that's our ambition
01:52and our aspiration
01:53and this is going to be
01:55a big part of the future
01:56when it comes to energy
01:56and you can see
01:57in the last few years
01:58energy has been weaponised
01:59prices have dictated
02:02both families and businesses
02:04across the United Kingdom
02:05and therefore taking control
02:07of energy is a huge prize
02:09so the more we can work together
02:11on this the better
02:12and small modular reactors
02:13are a very big part
02:15of the future here
02:16and we've got great companies
02:17like Rolls-Royce
02:18involved in that
02:20so I'm very much looking forward
02:22to working together with you
02:23Mr. President
02:24Good, we'll do that
02:24we'll do that
02:26we're going up to your oil capital
02:28in a little while
02:30we're going up to Aberdeen
02:31that's called the oil capital
02:32of Europe
02:33and that's a great asset
02:35that you have up there
02:36someday
02:37if they ever think
02:38change their thinking
02:39on that
02:40you have a great
02:42and valuable asset
02:43there's a lot of
02:44valuable resources
02:46underground there
02:48but that's a decision
02:50for you to make
02:51but it's a very amazing place
02:53and it's
02:54it is considered
02:55the oil capital of Europe
02:57so it's another option
02:59that you have
03:00so we are doing really well
03:02as a country
03:03and I think that the Prime Minister
03:06he's been so supportive of us
03:08and so strong
03:11and so respected
03:12and I respect him much more today
03:14than I did before
03:16because I just met his wife and family
03:17he's got a perfect wife
03:18and that's never easy to achieve
03:21right?
03:22but
03:23I take no credit for that
03:24he's become a friend
03:26and together we got a deal done
03:28that has not been able to be done
03:30it was
03:31it was a deal
03:33that's very good for both of us
03:34a really good deal
03:34for both of our countries
03:35and
03:36very very
03:38well received here
03:39in the United Kingdom
03:40so thank you very much for having us
03:42thank you
03:42appreciate it
03:43Mr. President
03:44Mr. President
03:45I just want to follow up on Russia
03:46earlier you said
03:48that you were going to change
03:49the deadline
03:50from 50 days
03:51so what is your new deadline
03:52what can we expect?
03:53I'm going to make a new deadline
03:54of about 10
03:5610 or 12 days
03:58from today
03:59there's no reason to waiting
04:01there's no reason to waiting
04:03it's 50 days
04:05I want to be generous
04:06but
04:06we just don't see any progress
04:09being made
04:10Mr. President
04:11on Gaza
04:12you just talked about
04:13setting up food centers
04:15in conjunction
04:15with other organizations
04:16are you talking about
04:17the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation
04:19or recognized aid agencies
04:21how will this work?
04:22well it's going to be
04:23working with the United States
04:24we'll be
04:24helping with the food
04:26we have a lot of access to food
04:28we've got a lot of food ourselves
04:30and we're going to bring it up
04:31to make sure that
04:33they don't have barriers
04:34stopping people
04:34you know you've seen the areas
04:35where they actually have food
04:36and the people are screaming
04:38for the food in there
04:39they're 35-40 yards away
04:43and they won't let them
04:44because they have lines
04:45that are set up
04:46and whether they're set up
04:48by a mass
04:49or whoever
04:50but they're
04:51very strict lines
04:52and we have to get rid of those lines
04:54but we're going to be getting
04:55some good strong food
04:56we can
04:57save a lot of people
04:58I mean
04:59some of those kids are
05:00that's real starvation stuff
05:02I see it
05:02and you can't fake that
05:05so we're going to be
05:06even more involved
05:09we did some airlifts
05:10before
05:10some airdrops
05:11and the people are running for it
05:14and the Prime Minister
05:17is going to help us
05:17they're very effective with that
05:19you've done that before
05:19and for many
05:20they've done that for 100 years
05:22very well
05:23so
05:23it's not very hard to do
05:26actually
05:27Mr President
05:28you say you love Scotland
05:29you're the most Scottish president
05:31ever in the White House
05:33is there a better deal
05:34to be done
05:35for Scotland
05:36for Scottish industry
05:37in the deal that you've done
05:38with the Prime Minister
05:39Whiskey for example
05:41well
05:41we have
05:42I have great love for Scotland
05:44you know
05:44my mother loved
05:45Scotland
05:46and she loved the Queen
05:48I don't know
05:50I might hurt myself
05:51by saying that
05:52the monarchists
05:53are going to like it
05:54some other people
05:55but she loved the Queen
05:57whenever the Queen
05:57was on television
05:58she wanted to watch
05:59and she would come back
06:01religiously
06:02she'd come back to Scotland
06:03once a year
06:03with my sister Marion
06:05primarily
06:06and sometimes
06:07my sister Elizabeth also
06:08but they
06:10they love
06:11this part of the world
06:12and you know
06:13we're talking about
06:14the Isle of Lewis
06:14we're talking about
06:15serious Scotland
06:18that's serious Scotland
06:20there's no
06:20there was no doubt about it
06:22so yeah
06:22it gives me a feeling
06:24you know
06:25it's different
06:26you go to another country
06:27you have no relationship to it
06:28you get
06:28like
06:29maybe the head of the country
06:30but it's different
06:31when your mother was born here
06:32Stornoway
06:33right in Stornoway
06:35beautiful little place
06:36so is there a better deal
06:37to be done
06:38is there a better deal
06:38to be done for Scotland
06:39for whisky for example
06:40because of your love of Scotland
06:42is there a better trade deal
06:44to be done
06:44for Scottish businesses
06:45like whisky
06:46well I assume
06:47when we do our trade deal
06:49overall
06:49a lot of it comes to Scotland
06:50I hope
06:51maybe all of it
06:52should go to Scotland
06:52it's a very good deal
06:53for the whole United Kingdom
06:54and
06:55we have
06:57already achieved
06:58great things
06:59on the deal
06:59and we'll achieve
07:00even more
07:01as we work together
07:02Mr. President
07:02a lot of it
07:04is going to Scotland
07:05I mean I do know that
07:06but I mean we're dealing
07:07with the UK
07:07but a lot of it
07:09comes to Scotland
07:10and you know
07:11I was very particular
07:12and this
07:12this is a
07:14a part of the world
07:15I want to
07:16I want to see
07:16thrive
07:17it's going to thrive
07:19Mr. President
07:19back to Gaza
07:20you talk about Hamas
07:22stealing food
07:23and stealing aid
07:24what responsibility
07:25does Israel have
07:26for limiting aid
07:28to the region
07:29and if I could ask
07:29a follow up
07:30to the Prime Minister
07:31what pressure
07:32can be put
07:33on Israel
07:34and is that something
07:34that you and the United States
07:36could work on together
07:36Israel has a lot
07:37of responsibility
07:38they're hampered
07:39by the fact
07:40that you still have
07:4020 hostages or so
07:42and the people of Israel
07:44are very concerned
07:45about the 20 hostages
07:46it's very interesting
07:47you could say
07:49they could be
07:49more concerned
07:50about retribution
07:51than the 20 hostages
07:52but they really want
07:54the 20 hostages
07:55to survive
07:58and live
07:59to make it
07:59you know
08:00many of the hostages
08:01came to my office
08:02the Oval Office
08:03and I was amazed
08:05by
08:06I would ask them
08:07the question
08:07was there any sign
08:08of love
08:09was there any sign
08:10of
08:10when you were a hostage
08:12and you have all
08:13of these people
08:14from Hamas
08:14around you
08:15sometimes 100
08:16sometimes 10
08:17sometimes 2
08:18but you're a hostage
08:20and you're being
08:21stored in a pipe
08:21it's not even really
08:23you know
08:24a cave
08:25it's a pipe
08:26a little pipe
08:27and some said
08:29they didn't think
08:29they were going to make it
08:30because they were losing air
08:31there wasn't enough air
08:32and they'd open up
08:34the pipe just in time
08:35but they didn't do it
08:36on purpose
08:36they just happened to open
08:37they got lucky
08:38but I said
08:39did they ever wink at you
08:41and say like
08:41don't worry
08:42you're going to be okay
08:43did they ever
08:44give you some extra food
08:46even if it was
08:46a piece of bread
08:47did they ever give you
08:48anything during that time
08:49and some were there
08:50for four or five hundred
08:51days now right
08:52that's a long time
08:53a year and a half
08:54more than that
08:55and not one person
08:57said there was any love
08:59from anybody
08:59you know
08:59in other words
09:00you have hundreds of people
09:02and you see it in the movies
09:04where somebody's a prisoner
09:06and somebody's helping
09:07you even see it
09:08with Germany
09:09where people would
09:12be let into a house
09:14and live in an attic
09:16in secret
09:16you know
09:17you see signs of stuff
09:18I said
09:19did you see anything
09:20like
09:20did they wink at you
09:22did they say
09:22don't worry
09:23you're going to be okay
09:24I never received
09:25I ask that question
09:26all the time
09:27I've never received
09:28one answer
09:29that said
09:29yeah they really
09:31wanted to help
09:31the hatred
09:32is just incredible
09:33but sir
09:34on the access
09:34to food issue
09:35what more
09:37can Israel do
09:38and again
09:38to the prime minister
09:39as well
09:39well I think
09:41Israel can do a lot
09:42I will say
09:44that Iran
09:45I think
09:47interjected
09:48themselves
09:48in this last
09:50negotiation
09:51can you imagine
09:51the beating
09:52they took
09:53we wiped out
09:54their nuclear
09:54possibilities
09:55they can start
09:56again
09:56if they do
09:57we'll wipe it out
09:58faster
09:59then you can
09:59wave your finger
10:01at it
10:02we'll have to do
10:03that
10:04we will do that
10:04gladly
10:05openly
10:05and gladly
10:06they've been saying
10:08Iran's been sending
10:09out bad signals
10:10I'll tell you
10:11for a country
10:12that just got
10:13wiped out
10:13they've been sending
10:15very bad signals
10:16very nasty signals
10:18and they shouldn't
10:20be doing that
10:20they shouldn't
10:21be doing that
10:22they were talking
10:22about things
10:24that they shouldn't
10:24be talking about
10:25they were interviewed
10:26on a recent show
10:27and the foreign minister
10:29saying things
10:30that he shouldn't
10:30be talking about
10:31shouldn't be saying
10:32and I think
10:34they got involved
10:35in this negotiation
10:36telling Hamas
10:38and giving Hamas
10:40signals and orders
10:42and that's not good
10:44that's not good
10:45Prime Minister
10:46I would say
10:47we need to get
10:48the hostages out
10:49they've been held
10:49for a very very long time
10:51and we must always
10:51start from there
10:53but also recognise
10:56the situation
10:56on the ground
10:57in Gaza
10:58is absolutely intolerable
10:59and I think that
11:00certainly speaking
11:02for the British public
11:03and myself
11:04those images
11:05of starving children
11:06in particular
11:07are revolting
11:10and there's a sense
11:11of revulsion
11:12in the British public
11:13at what they're seeing
11:13and they know
11:15and we know
11:16that humanitarian aid
11:17needs to get in
11:18at speed
11:19at volume
11:19yes some can be
11:21airdropped
11:21and we're working
11:22with others
11:23with the US
11:23with Jordan
11:25on that
11:26but the trucks
11:27need to get in
11:27because that's the only
11:29way you can get
11:29the volume in
11:30and we do
11:31thank the President
11:33for the work
11:34he's done
11:34to try to get
11:35to a ceasefire
11:35which we desperately need
11:37but also to put aid
11:38in to the region
11:40there needs to be
11:40much more of that
11:41we need to galvanise
11:42other countries
11:44in support of
11:45getting that aid in
11:46and yes that does
11:46involve putting pressure
11:47on Israel
11:49because it absolutely
11:51this is a humanitarian
11:52catastrophe
11:53now
11:54we also need
11:56to look beyond
11:57that situation
11:59to what then
12:00happens
12:01in the event
12:01of a ceasefire
12:02which is desperately
12:03needed
12:03and that's why
12:05I'm really pleased
12:05that we're having
12:06a discussion
12:07about what a peace
12:08plan would look
12:08like
12:09after that
12:10the component
12:11parts of that
12:12and we have to be
12:13really clear
12:14at this point
12:16that Hamas
12:17can play absolutely
12:18no part
12:19in any future
12:20governance
12:20in Palestine
12:22and in Gaza
12:25and it's really
12:25important that we're
12:26clear about
12:28what triggered this
12:29and took the cost
12:30I think today
12:37the focus has to be
12:38on getting that
12:39humanitarian aid in
12:40Mr. President
12:41Mr. President
12:42will the UK
12:43avoid your
12:44pharmaceutical tariffs
12:45and will it happen
12:46before August the 1st
12:48well we'll be
12:49announcing on
12:49pharmaceuticals
12:50sometime in the
12:51very near future
12:52we have a very big
12:54plan on pharmaceuticals
12:55we want to bring
12:56a lot of the
12:56pharmaceuticals back
12:57to America
12:58where they should be
13:00if you look at
13:02COVID it sort of
13:03taught us a lesson
13:04we were getting
13:05our pharmaceuticals
13:06from other countries
13:07we almost didn't make
13:08any we used to
13:09make them ourselves
13:10and we're going to
13:11want to be making
13:12a lot of them
13:12ourselves
13:13all of them
13:14in a sense
13:15but you also have
13:17a good pharmaceutical
13:18business
13:18we'll be dealing
13:19with you on
13:20pharmaceuticals also
13:21and we certainly
13:22feel a lot better
13:23with your country
13:24working on
13:25pharmaceuticals
13:26for America
13:26than some of
13:27the other countries
13:27that work
13:28with the relationship
13:30we have
13:31you would not
13:32use that as a
13:32cudgel
13:33you wouldn't be
13:33using it as a
13:34as a block
13:35but we're going
13:38to be announcing
13:38sometime very soon
13:39I think
13:40pharmaceuticals
13:42are our whole thing
13:43and the companies
13:44know
13:44and drug prices
13:45are going to be
13:46coming down
13:46very substantially
13:47in the US
13:48very very substantially
13:50and that will
13:51happen very soon
13:51Mr. President
13:52we can all sense
13:53your frustration
13:54with Vladimir Putin
13:55sorry we can all
13:56sense your frustration
13:57with Vladimir Putin
13:58do you think
13:59he has been
14:00lying to you
14:01about his
14:01intentions in Ukraine
14:02well I don't
14:03want to use the
14:04word lying
14:04all I know
14:05is we'd have
14:05a good talk
14:06and it seemed
14:07on let's say
14:08three occasions
14:09it seemed
14:09that we were
14:10going to have
14:10a ceasefire
14:12and maybe peace
14:12and you divide
14:13it up
14:13and you do
14:14whatever you
14:14have to do
14:15that obviously
14:15to get to the
14:16end
14:16and all of a
14:18sudden
14:18missiles are
14:19flying into
14:20Kiev
14:20and other
14:22places
14:22and I say
14:23what's that
14:24all about
14:24I spoke to
14:25him three
14:25four hours
14:26ago
14:26and it
14:29looked like
14:29we were
14:29on our
14:30way
14:30and then
14:30I'd say
14:31forget it
14:32and I'm
14:33not going
14:33to talk
14:35anymore
14:35you know
14:35this has
14:36happened
14:36on too
14:37many occasions
14:38and I
14:40don't like
14:40it
14:40I don't
14:41like it
14:41Mr. President
14:42you have
14:42a successful
14:43social media
14:44site
14:45there are
14:45new powers
14:46here to
14:47censor
14:47your site
14:48state
14:49mandated
14:49to censor
14:50my site
14:50to censor
14:51your site
14:51and Twitter
14:52and Facebook
14:53I mean
14:53truth
14:54is that
14:54okay
14:54I don't
14:55think he's
14:55going to
14:55censor
14:56my site
14:56because I
14:57say only
14:57good things
14:58will you
14:58please
14:58uncensor
14:59my site
15:00we're not
15:01censoring
15:01anyone
15:01we've got
15:03some measures
15:03which are
15:04there to
15:04protect
15:04children
15:05in particular
15:06from sites
15:06like
15:07suicide
15:08sites
15:09we've had
15:10too many
15:10cases in
15:11the United
15:11Kingdom
15:12of young
15:13children
15:13taking their
15:14own lives
15:15and when you
15:16look through
15:16their social
15:16media
15:17they've been
15:17accessing
15:18sites
15:20which talk
15:21about
15:21suicide
15:21and
15:22encouraging
15:25if you like
15:25children
15:26down that
15:26road
15:27and that
15:27is what
15:28we want
15:28to stop
15:28nothing
15:28about
15:29censoring
15:29free speech
15:30but that
15:30treats all
15:31adults
15:31like
15:31children
15:31free speech
15:34in this country
15:35has been
15:35for a very
15:35long time
15:36we're very
15:36very proud
15:37of it
15:37we will
15:38protect it
15:39forever
15:39but at the
15:40same time
15:40I personally
15:41feel very
15:42strongly
15:42that we
15:42should
15:43protect
15:43our
15:43young
15:44teenagers
15:44and that's
15:45what it
15:45usually is
15:46from things
15:46like
15:46suicide
15:47sites
15:47I don't
15:48see that
15:48as a
15:49free speech
15:49issue
15:50I see
15:50that as
15:50a child
15:50protection
15:51we actually
15:51passed a bill
15:52in congress
15:53headed up by
15:53my wife
15:54actually
15:55which was
15:55to pull
15:57bad stuff
15:59out having
16:00to do with
16:00children
16:00because it is
16:01a problem
16:01but I cannot
16:03imagine him
16:04censoring
16:05truth
16:05socially
16:06this is more
16:06of a very
16:08political
16:08and it's been
16:09a very big
16:10success
16:10it's not
16:10going to happen
16:11and I only
16:12say good things
16:13about him
16:13and his
16:13country
16:14so if they
16:15censor me
16:15you're making
16:16a mistake
16:16I'm going to
16:18give my
16:18ambassador
16:19the job
16:19make sure
16:20it's not
16:20so sorry
16:20I had
16:21no
16:21question
16:22you're a big
16:24investor in this area
16:25Mr. President
16:26you're a big investor
16:27in this area
16:28of Scotland
16:28to put it mildly
16:30like this ballroom
16:31that we built
16:32from scratch
16:33do you worry
16:34though about
16:35the risk
16:35of increased
16:36taxes here
16:36will that stop
16:37you investing
16:37and do you have
16:38a message
16:39last night
16:39on the soccer
16:40to the English
16:41Lionesses
16:42who won
16:42the European
16:43trophy
16:43so I think
16:45that I have
16:46a theory
16:47that low
16:48taxes bring
16:49growth
16:50we just passed
16:50a big tax cut
16:51bill
16:51the biggest
16:52bill in the
16:52history of our
16:53country actually
16:54and one big
16:56beautiful bill
16:56I used to call it
16:57the great
16:58one big bill
16:59but it's actually
17:01called the one
17:01big beautiful bill
17:02it's
17:03essentially a very
17:05large tax cut
17:06bill for everybody
17:07and our country's
17:09pretty soon
17:11I think I can say
17:12I think I can say
17:12it right now
17:13our country's
17:13never done better
17:14we had a country
17:15that was dead
17:16it was dead
17:18six months ago
17:19a year ago
17:20leaders from
17:21NATO when I
17:22we had a very
17:23successful meeting
17:24at NATO
17:25your prime minister
17:26was there
17:26it was an
17:26unbelievable
17:27love fest
17:28with all of
17:28those countries
17:29and they agreed
17:31to go five percent
17:32and all the things
17:33very smart to do
17:34but many of the
17:37leaders said
17:37you know
17:37essentially
17:38they said
17:39your country
17:40is dead
17:41one year ago
17:41one year ago
17:43we had a dead
17:43and we did
17:44we had a dead
17:44country
17:45we had a president
17:46who didn't know
17:47where the hell
17:47he was
17:48we had
17:49horrible
17:51horrible people
17:52running our country
17:52I think they were
17:54sick people
17:55actually sick
17:56you talk about
17:57censorship
17:57that's those
17:58are big
17:59that's all they
17:59did was censor
18:00they didn't know
18:01what to do
18:02and they had
18:03high taxes
18:03they wanted
18:04more tax
18:05total censorship
18:06transgender for
18:07everybody
18:08men playing
18:08women's sports
18:10everything bad
18:11they wanted
18:12and they still
18:12do
18:13that's what
18:13they still
18:13do
18:14that's why
18:14they're down
18:14at 15%
18:16or something
18:16I saw it
18:17today
18:17the lowest
18:18that the other
18:19part of the
18:19democrats have
18:20ever been
18:20but no
18:21I think
18:22I find that
18:23when you lower
18:23taxes you get
18:24growth
18:24I will say
18:26this area
18:27the prime minister
18:28hasn't been here
18:29very long
18:30on all fairness
18:30I think he'll
18:31he'll be a tax
18:32cutter
18:32but I find that
18:34as we cut taxes
18:36we did more
18:36business
18:36you know
18:37in my first
18:37tax bill
18:38we cut taxes
18:39from 39%
18:41down to 22%
18:42and we ended
18:44up at the end
18:45of the first
18:45year
18:45when it was
18:47still a little
18:47raw
18:48we ended up
18:49taking in
18:49much more
18:50revenue
18:51than we did
18:51at 39%
18:52it was pretty
18:53amazing
18:53and we're taking
18:55in a lot of
18:56revenue right now
18:56and this was
18:57an additional
18:58tax cut
18:58so
19:00I find
19:01for whatever
19:02it's worth
19:02tax cuts
19:03are very good
19:04So what I'm
19:13doing is
19:14we're going to
19:14do secondary
19:15sanctions
19:16unless we make
19:17a deal
19:17and we might
19:17make a deal
19:18I don't know
19:19you don't know
19:20it's
19:21we've done
19:23so many peace
19:24deals
19:24this is the one
19:26I started out
19:27with
19:27and you know
19:28this is
19:28I know
19:28President Putin
19:29called me
19:30he wanted to
19:30know if I
19:31could help
19:31him with Iran
19:32and I said
19:32no I don't
19:33need your
19:33help with Iran
19:33I need your
19:34help with Russia
19:34and so that's
19:37the one deal
19:38that continues
19:39to linger
19:39and you know
19:40we're losing
19:405,000
19:41they're losing
19:42I'm not losing
19:43you're not losing
19:43but 5,000
19:45Russian
19:46and Ukrainian
19:47kids a week
19:48are dying
19:49and that's
19:51not mentioning
19:51the people
19:52that are dying
19:53also in towns
19:54where you know
19:54he's lobbing
19:55missiles
19:55into certain
19:56towns
19:57like Kiev
19:57and
19:59he's got
20:01to make a deal
20:01it's
20:02too many
20:03people are dying
20:04it's a really
20:05bloody war
20:05and the 5
20:06and now
20:07they're really
20:07telling me
20:08that number
20:08is obsolete
20:09it's like
20:107
20:10so you have
20:117,000
20:12Russian
20:13and Ukrainian
20:13soldiers
20:14dying
20:14every single
20:15week
20:15for no reason
20:17whatsoever
20:18so
20:18you would think
20:20based on
20:20common sense
20:21you would think
20:21you'd want
20:22to make a deal
20:22we'll find out
20:23no communication
20:24have you had
20:26any other
20:26granny channels
20:27conversations
20:28with the Russians
20:28reiterating this
20:29in what
20:30reiterating
20:31this new
20:33pressure
20:33deadline
20:34you know
20:35we're going to have
20:35yeah
20:36I mean
20:36well you're the press
20:37I'm reiterating it
20:39to you
20:39yeah
20:40I'd say
20:4110 to 12 days
20:42I'll announce it
20:42probably tonight
20:43or tomorrow
20:44but there's no reason
20:45to wait
20:45if you know
20:47what the answer
20:47is going to be
20:48why wait
20:48and it would be
20:51sanctions
20:51and maybe
20:52tariffs
20:55secondary tariffs
20:56you know
20:56what a secondary
20:56tariff is
20:57and
20:59look
21:00the Russian
21:00I don't want
21:01to do that
21:01to Russia
21:02I love the Russian
21:02people
21:03they're great people
21:04I don't want
21:06to do that
21:06to Russia
21:07but
21:07this thing
21:09they're losing
21:10a lot of Russians
21:11they've lost
21:11a million Russians
21:12and that's
21:14the you know
21:14sons
21:15that's the sons
21:17and daughters
21:17of
21:18Russian families
21:20they leave the house
21:21they go
21:21bye mom
21:22bye dad
21:23and then they get
21:23blown away
21:24and Ukrainian too
21:26look at Ukraine
21:27it's a disaster
21:28what's happened there
21:29but it continues
21:31to go on
21:32as you know
21:34we made a deal
21:35where
21:35the European
21:36Union
21:37is essentially
21:38involved
21:38but it's NATO
21:39and we're
21:40we're supplying
21:41weapons to
21:42NATO
21:43NATO's now paying
21:44because
21:44the United States
21:46because of Biden
21:47is in for 350 billion
21:48the European nations
21:51are in for about
21:51100 billion
21:52should be the opposite
21:53way
21:53by the way
21:54because we have
21:55a big ocean
21:56in between
21:56should be the
21:57opposite way
21:58but
21:59I
22:01I think
22:02that eventually
22:03something's gonna happen
22:04it should happen
22:05fast
22:06so
22:07many people
22:08are dying
22:08you know
22:09when I settled
22:10out with
22:11Congo
22:11and Rwanda
22:12they lost
22:14almost 8 million
22:15people
22:16and it just
22:18made so much sense
22:19and
22:19if I didn't get
22:20involved
22:21they wouldn't
22:21have done it
22:21they weren't even
22:22thinking about
22:22settling it
22:23it was just
22:23going on forever
22:24and nobody
22:25could go into
22:26those territories
22:27because they'd
22:27get killed
22:28they'd get killed
22:29and now
22:31they have a
22:31I hear it's a
22:32whole different
22:33ballgame
22:33we settle it
22:34and this is one
22:35that should be
22:36settled
22:36Russia
22:37Ukraine
22:37this is one
22:38that really
22:39should be settled
22:39Mr. President
22:40Scotland's first
22:43minister
22:43has today
22:44set out
22:45his plans
22:45for a second
22:46referendum
22:46on Scottish
22:47independence
22:47can I get
22:48your reaction
22:49to that
22:49as someone
22:50with deep
22:51ties to Scotland
22:51sorry Mr. Prime
22:52Minister
22:53can I also get
22:53your thoughts
22:54on that
22:54if the SNP
22:55do win a majority
22:56at next year's
22:57election
22:57then they
22:57have a right
22:58to hold
22:58a referendum
22:58if they're not
22:59well I don't
23:00want to get
23:00involved in
23:01your politics
23:01we got enough
23:02politics
23:03I will say
23:04that I
23:05I predicted
23:06what was going
23:07to happen
23:08the last time
23:08you remember
23:09I was opening
23:09the first course
23:11over at
23:12Aberdeen
23:13and I was
23:14over here
23:15and at the
23:17same time
23:17and they
23:19asked me that
23:19question
23:19I made a
23:20prediction
23:20it was the
23:21day before
23:22the vote
23:22and I made
23:24a correct
23:24I like to be
23:25correct
23:26but I made
23:26a correct
23:27prediction
23:27I don't know
23:29I do say
23:30that when
23:30they made
23:31that deal
23:31somebody said
23:32that it was
23:33and I remember
23:34this very
23:35distinctly
23:35I said
23:35could they
23:36do this
23:36all the time
23:37there was
23:37a little bit
23:38of a
23:39restriction
23:40like 50
23:40or 75
23:41years before
23:42you could
23:42take another
23:42vote
23:43because you
23:43know
23:43a country
23:44can't go
23:45through that
23:45too much
23:46I don't know
23:47the first minister
23:48but I've heard
23:49great things
23:49about him
23:49I've spoken
23:50to him
23:50I hear very
23:52good things
23:52about him
23:52and I'm
23:53meeting him
23:53today
23:54so maybe
23:55I'll have a
23:56better opinion
23:56then
23:57and let me
23:58answer that
23:58straightforwardly
23:59because I
23:59believe in
23:59a stronger
24:00Scotland
24:00in a
24:02better
24:03United
24:03Kingdom
24:03and I
24:04think that
24:04at a time
24:05like this
24:06when it's
24:07quite clear
24:07that there's
24:09uncertainty
24:09and volatility
24:10around the
24:10world
24:11the strength
24:12of the
24:13United Kingdom
24:13together
24:14is very
24:15important
24:15for all
24:16four nations
24:16very important
24:17for Scotland
24:18and that
24:20should be
24:21our priority
24:21that should be
24:22our focus
24:22not on
24:24the politics
24:26which feels
24:26like the
24:27politics
24:27of yesteryear
24:28now
24:28at a time
24:30like this
24:31and I think
24:32that
24:33the first
24:35minister
24:35should probably
24:36focus more
24:36on his
24:37delivery
24:38in Scotland
24:38than on his
24:39constitutional
24:40issues
24:41and we might
24:41have a better
24:42health service
24:42in Scotland
24:44but at a time
24:45like this
24:45I think the
24:46United Kingdom
24:46is always
24:49stronger
24:49as four
24:50nations
24:50I think
24:51that's
24:52better
24:52for all
24:52four nations
24:53I think
24:54that's
24:54how
24:54Scotland
24:54is
24:55stronger
24:56look at
24:58the deal
24:59that we've
25:01been able to
25:01do with the
25:02United States
25:02a really
25:03important deal
25:04that we made
25:06just months ago
25:07that is what
25:09the United Kingdom
25:09can do
25:10when we act
25:11as a powerful
25:12set of four
25:13nations together
25:14and there are
25:15very many
25:15other examples
25:16Mr. President
25:17Mr. President
25:18you toured
25:19the Federal Reserve
25:20last week
25:21and they are set
25:22to meet
25:22this week
25:23do you think
25:24your visit
25:25has inspired
25:26a potential
25:27rate cut
25:28or how do you
25:28see things
25:29shaking out
25:29this week
25:29well it's
25:30interesting
25:30I did tour
25:31I toured the
25:32building
25:32yes
25:33and if you
25:33looked at this
25:34building
25:34if you came
25:35here
25:36like
25:3714-15 years
25:39ago
25:39we've had it
25:39a long time
25:40it's been an
25:41honor to have
25:42Turnberry
25:42but I was
25:44on much
25:45more opulent
25:46walls
25:47ceilings
25:48floors
25:48we had to
25:49do this
25:50and
25:51we did a
25:53very great
25:53job
25:54I mean
25:55you see how
25:55beautiful it is
25:56inside
25:56everything was
25:57saved
25:57everything was
25:58preserved
25:58we had
25:59ceilings that
25:59were in bad
26:00shape
26:00they were
26:00falling down
26:01it was
26:02very old
26:04wasn't properly
26:05maintained
26:06now it's
26:07brand new
26:07and beautiful
26:08and we saved
26:08everything
26:09if you really
26:12think here
26:13you took a
26:13look and you
26:14were sort of
26:14commenting
26:15to color
26:16now this is a
26:17brand new
26:18building
26:18but if you
26:19look outside
26:20it's equally
26:21opulent
26:21and beautiful
26:22and we
26:24didn't do
26:25that by
26:26spending
26:26you know
26:28hundreds of
26:28millions of
26:29dollars in
26:30surrounding a
26:31railing underneath
26:31the area that
26:33you're painting
26:33I mean I saw
26:34I've never said
26:34that
26:35brand new
26:36beautiful plywood
26:37very expensive
26:37wrapped around
26:39a figurine
26:41or a railing
26:42to preserve it
26:43but you don't
26:44have to do that
26:45you can just
26:45wrap a
26:46cloth
26:47they call it
26:48a blanket
26:48and you don't
26:50even have to
26:50do that
26:51if you're careful
26:51when you're
26:52doing the
26:52ceiling
26:52but I don't
26:54know what
26:54they did
26:54they'd take
26:54down a
26:55ceiling
26:55and put up
26:56a new
26:56ceiling
26:56and the
26:57new ceiling
26:57had no
26:58opulence
26:58to it
26:59or
26:59they'd fix
27:01the ceiling
27:01but I
27:02would say
27:03that all
27:03I need
27:03is a good
27:04plaster
27:04and a can
27:05of paint
27:05and you know
27:07they spent
27:073.9 billion
27:08and I spent
27:10a lot of money
27:11too
27:11but it's
27:11it's
27:12I'd say
27:133.8 billion
27:17less
27:18you know
27:19meaning
27:20I spent
27:20probably
27:21a hundred
27:23million dollars
27:24making this place
27:24incredible
27:25and you're
27:25saying a lot
27:26of that
27:26was local
27:27trades
27:27I used
27:28local
27:28trades
27:29I had
27:32local
27:32trades
27:33to a lot
27:33of this
27:34we had
27:34we have
27:35the most
27:35opulent
27:36windows
27:36next door
27:37and I had
27:38a choice
27:38do I
27:38take them
27:40out
27:40you know
27:41they
27:41they've
27:42suffered
27:42through
27:42125
27:43years
27:44of storms
27:45you have
27:45very big
27:46storms
27:46in this area
27:47when you have
27:48a storm
27:48you have
27:48a storm
27:49and they
27:50made it
27:50barely
27:51but they
27:51were in
27:52bad shape
27:52so I had
27:53some local
27:54people come
27:55up and
27:55we looked
27:56at them
27:57you have
27:57some great
27:58craftsmen
27:58here I
27:59think is
27:59what you're
27:59getting at
28:00and they
28:01said sir
28:01honestly
28:02they've
28:03had it
28:03we can
28:04copy it
28:05and do
28:05it much
28:05better
28:06and they
28:07did
28:07if you
28:07take a
28:07look at
28:08the
28:08windows
28:09in the
28:09various
28:10dining
28:10rooms
28:10they're
28:11magnificent
28:11and they're
28:13new
28:13and they're
28:14much better
28:15looking than
28:15what was
28:16their
28:16same exact
28:17look
28:17other than
28:17a much
28:18higher
28:19quality
28:19and they're
28:21local people
28:22I use a lot
28:22of your
28:23local people
28:23you have
28:24really great
28:26local
28:27tradesmen
28:28here
28:28but do you
28:29foresee a
28:29rate cut
28:30this week
28:30a rate cut
28:32meaning a
28:33tax cut
28:34no no no
28:34do you expect
28:35the Fed
28:35to cut
28:36rates this
28:36week
28:37I think
28:39he has
28:39to
28:39you had
28:4111 cuts
28:42you know
28:42in Europe
28:44they had
28:4411 cuts
28:45in other
28:46places
28:46they had
28:4710 or
28:4711 cuts
28:48and we
28:50had
28:50done
28:50but I'm
28:50not going
28:51to say
28:51anything
28:51bad
28:51you know
28:52we're
28:53doing so
28:54well
28:54even without
28:55the rate
28:55cut
28:55with the
28:56rate cut
28:57it would
28:57be better
28:57it affects
28:58our housing
28:58a little
28:59bit
28:59look
28:59we should
29:02be
29:02three points
29:03lower
29:04each point
29:05is
29:05360 billion
29:07dollars
29:07can you
29:07imagine
29:08that
29:08that's
29:09big numbers
29:09each point
29:10one point
29:11of cut
29:12is the
29:12equivalent
29:13of
