00:00New York Mets who have won six in a row will try to sweep the Giants a team struggling Lucille the mascot has gotten into the mascot Hall of Fame so the celebration on the field for Lucille and there is the Hall of Famer. It's Matt Gage left hander it's bullpen day but he's going to get the first inning for the Giants. He never reached the majors after he was drafted and then he went to triple A independent ball bounced all the way around and it looks like he's going to get a one pitch ground ball.
00:30out from Brandon Nimmo. I don't think it could start any better. As you can see right behind home plate all of the Hall of Fame mascots were there to join the Giants mascot Lucille who was named a Hall of Fame inductee today. Here's Lindor batting right. Strike three Matt Gage paints at 93 and away. Facing Juan Soto. He beats it into the ground staying down on it Tom Smith.
00:57For Matt Gage 10 pitches retiring the side in order. Go to the bottom of the first inning Mets did not score against Matt Gage and so it is Kodai Sengade for the New York Mets. 32 year old right hander in his third Mets season making start number 16.
01:13Jung Hu Lee then Elliot Ramos and Rafi Devers. Rolls one there's your defensive guy Alonzo swallows it up and Lee is retired on the ground ball from Senga. First Giants base runner now Rafi Devers will come up. Line toward third caught by Mauricio and he looks the runner back to first without making a throw. So a second out for Senga. That was a bullet off Devers' bat. He didn't even have time to drop the bat. That's how quickly it got out to Mauricio.
01:38Threw his hands up after that ball was caught by Mauricio and Rafi is still running a little toasty over there. Hit hard on one hop to third. Grabbed by Mauricio. Flings the short way to second in time to get the lead runner. And the side is retired.
01:50Senga has scored his first inning. Here is Jeff McNeil. Chapman moves in about two feet off of the grass at third. Now crawls a little closer. This one is nearly off the bag. Dom Smith. Dominator start tonight at first base for Dom Smith.
02:06He takes one away from his former team. So a break for Chapman. 2-2. Bats called strike three. And another one on the corner.
02:15Dom Smith has made a nice play in the field and now he's at the plate. One out. Two strikes. Jastrzemski big lead. He goes. Smith. He finds the vacated shortstop position. Lindor went over to cover.
02:25And a perfectly executed run by Jastrzemski. And Smith found the hole when Lindor went to cover the bag. Giants are really struggling to get things going offensively. Sometimes you have to put guys in motion.
02:38Here's Patrick Bailey. Bottom of the second. No score. Giants threatening. Swing and a miss. Guess what? Fork ball in the dirt. And Bailey the latest victim. Two outs in this second inning.
02:50And that's trust on Alvarez as well to be able to block the ball. That's something that he went down and worked on.
02:56Here's the nine man. Skinny lefty Brett Wisely. No score. Bottom two. Runners at the corners.
03:02Swing. And he really picks up the strikeout of Wisely with another fork ball.
03:09Kodai Senga sticks a fork in Chapman Bailey and Wisely strikes out three and leaves a pair.
03:16And then the Mets a back-to-back base hit to kick start the top of the third inning.
03:20And the order flips for Brandon Nimmo to bat for the second time tonight.
03:24Swings. Hard one. Oh, and a play in second by Wisely to first. They do not get the double play.
03:31Wisely looked like he was moving towards his right and had to reach back to his left.
03:36He saved a run. So here's first and third with one away.
03:40And Francisco Lindor an opportunity to give the Mets an early lead.
03:44And a high chopper. Will there be one play? Yes at first base. Lindor out.
03:50Mets on the board as Alvarez touches home. So here's Soto with the runner at second base.
03:55Here it comes again. And he is called out. A rare punch-off of Soto looking for Bivitts.
04:03That was a good job to limit the damage. The Mets get just the one with their big hitters up there
04:07and a chance to open the game up a little bit.
04:09Ninth double of the season for Jeff. And the Mets have a runner in scoring position for Starling Marte.
04:14And now Marte who's hit already. Fall.
04:18Hit!
04:19Another one. Same spot.
04:21Same pitch. And that keeps coming.
04:23Carlos Mendoza is going to have to start barking a little bit from the dugout.
04:27Ball four. Just missed with a sinker. Marte wins the battle. A ten-pitch walk.
04:32And the Mets have first and second with one away for Brett Beatty.
04:36And Bob Melvin is letting Ryan Blakeney hear it.
04:400-2. And a check swing. And it will go to Short. And first and he got out of it.
04:47Bivins in and out of trouble in the top of the fourth inning.
04:50So far so good for Kodai Senga. 48 pitches through three innings.
04:54One thing the Giants could do to help their cause. And look we understand it's Oracle Park.
04:59This is the toughest or certainly one of the toughest home run parks.
05:02Chapman blasts one. Left field. It is gone!
05:08Matt Chapman ties the game with one swing.
05:11And that's right what we were saying.
05:13The Giants hadn't hit a home run in the series until then.
05:16That's one way to forget about the runners in scoring position.
05:19Just hit one out. And Matt Chapman did.
05:22Man, did he crush that thing.
05:24Second walk in the inning. And here comes Jeremy Hefner and Hiro Fujiwara for a chat with Senga.
05:30He's just not trusting his stuff in the strike zone.
05:33He has walked five. Ties a season high. Ties a career high with the Mets.
05:38And now Jung-Hoo Lee's turn. Turned into a long inning for Senga.
05:42Swung on. Popped up. On the infield. Third base side.
05:46Lindor waves everybody off. He makes the catch.
05:48A couple of steps onto the outfield grass for the final out in this marathon fourth inning.
05:54But here he settles with a double.
05:56But a good two base hit to get the Mets started.
05:58Now Mauricio will try to get him to third.
06:01Hard hit ground ball. Base hit down the first baseline.
06:04Past the diving Dom Smith. Alvarez scores.
06:07Yastrzemski trips. Mauricio to second with a go-ahead RBI double.
06:13Two to one Mets.
06:14I certainly would love to get Senga through five.
06:17He's antsy, I would say, because the guy that hit a home run last time up, Matt Chapman.
06:21Now there's a high drive in the deep center field.
06:23Way back there. Still going. Way back.
06:26Goodbye!
06:27Another home run for Matt Chapman. His second of the game.
06:33He went deep on him last time up.
06:36That's why Mendoza was wondering, what do I do? What do I do?
06:39He decided to stick with Senga.
06:41And Chapman sticks it into the bullpen.
06:43And for the first time in this game, the Giants have gone ahead.
06:48Hit on the ground to second. Added Beatty.
06:50He's got it. Plings to first. In time, hitting over.
06:54But now it's the Giants who jump back in front.
06:57Randy Rodriguez is back to work to face Ronnie Mauricio.
07:00As this ball is sailed towards the Kayaks.
07:03And he said fair ball. And it is a fair ball!
07:08We had a splash hit. Get on it, Kayaks!
07:11Mauricio stood there and he pulled a Carlton Fisk just on the right field line saying,
07:17Fair ball! And how about the bottom of the order for the Mets?
07:21Soto's 0-3 tonight. Swung on and crushed the opposite way to left.
07:25Ramos going back. Warning track wall. Out of room and gone!
07:29Opposite field. Go ahead. Solo shot for Juan Soto.
07:33And the Mets have gone deep twice against Randy Rodriguez
07:37and have taken a 4-3 lead.
07:39Ronnie Mauricio, a four hit day in San Fran.
07:43Single, two doubles, Homer.
07:46And he has set the Mets up with a big insurance run at second base to start the ninth inning.
07:50His day is done. Luis Angel Acuna is going to come in to run for him.
07:54A hit well. Going back. Lee still going back.
07:56It is off the bottom of the wall. Acuna is going to come in.
08:00There is a clutch hit with a runner in scoring position from Brandon Nimmo.
08:055-3 Mets in San Francisco.
08:09Edwin Diaz on to try to close it out.
08:11The call in the field was hit by pitch.
08:13The review says stands.
08:15And it's first and second.
08:17Two walks and a hit batter.
08:19Now all of a sudden it's starting to come apart for the Mets.
08:23Last chance. Two down. And Chapman.
08:25They got him! And the Mets sweep the series.
08:29And win their seventh in a row.
08:31With the bases loaded.
08:33Diaz bared down and got Adamas and Chapman to win the game.
