Aberdeen residents react as Donald Trump set to arrive at north-east golf course

Residents of Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire have shared their opinions as US President Donald Trump is set to arrive at his Balmedie golf course on Monday.

00:21Aberdeen to see what they think of President Trump's arrival as well as the latest news.

00:25I wish he'd stayed away. I don't want him.

00:30Yeah, I just don't know why he's here. He doesn't deserve to be here really. He should be in jail really.

00:34The only place he should be.

00:36There's good and bad with the guy. I look at the prospects at Balmedie, the amount of jobs he's put into that place

00:44and also down in his other golf course. So he has brought definitely something to Scotland.

01:27He keeps kind of escalating in how terrible he is and I think the really frustrating thing about him is that you can't ever beat him

01:38because he just doesn't accept, he would never accept it. Do you know what I mean?

01:43He's just an abhorrent human being and yeah, the more people that kind of get on board with that the better.

01:50I just really can't honestly understand people that don't think that to be honest because it's so plain to see.

01:56It was announced John Swanee said that £180,000 of public money is going to be used for a golf tournament at the golf course.

02:06As usual, they're wasting more money and they do what they like so there's no point in complaining about it

02:14because nobody does anything, they don't listen so that's what it is.

02:19I mean it's one of these people who boast about how much money he's got so it's like why do you need our government taxes to pay for that

02:25when you're boasting how much money you obviously have so you can pay for your own security for starters

02:30and it's also like as well he's got a bulletproof golfing cart as well down there so it's like

02:35we've always like paid for that so that shouldn't be something we pay for it

02:39we should be paying for something that actually matters to our city

02:41not someone who's just, who's there to be thrown in jail, that's the reality of it.

02:45It's when he's just doing what he's told more or less for the good, doesn't want to be outspoken against Trump

02:51and he doesn't want to say anything so but no, it's okay I think.
