Birdworld officially opened its brand-new Treetop Adventures outdoor play area this morning, marking the first major milestone in a multi-million-pound redevelopment of the much-loved attraction.
Families were among the first to explore the nature-inspired playground, which features bird nest towers, rope bridges, spiral clamber nets, suspended trampolines, and an interactive wet-play zone.
Designed for children of all abilities, the space encourages exploration and imaginative play in a woodland setting.
The opening marks a new chapter for Birdworld as it transforms into a year-round destination rooted in nature, play, and discovery.
The project is built around the park’s new logo and theme ‘Naturally Playful’, with sustainability and accessibility at its core. All equipment has been made using FSC-certified Robinia hardwood, with two new trees planted for every one removed.

00:00So, alongside our wonderful collection of birds, we felt Bird World needed that little
00:10bit extra to add to that family experience and for everyone to enjoy a full day out at
00:16Bird World. This is a fantastic bit of creativity that children will explore, play, adventure
00:26with one another and with their parents and you're all welcome to play on it as well, so
00:31do have a wonderful day.
00:56It is fantastic to be here this morning at the official opening of the new outdoor
01:26play area here at Bird World. Got a new logo and signage as well for this much loved local
01:32facility and a lot of investment put into it. The strap line now is naturally playful for
01:37this new area and that is really, really born out with this fantastic new facility. Later
01:41in the year there's always going to be a new indoor play area to come, so I encourage everyone
01:45if you haven't been here to Bird World for quite a while, please do come and have another
01:49look. It is an absolutely amazing place.
01:59Hello, I'm Anish Waghantala and I'm the Naturally Playful Ambassador of Bird World and the things
02:05that I really like about this park is of how interactive it is with children. Like, look
02:11at all of the new play areas and all of the birds are so interactive. I absolutely love
02:17it and I also really enjoy how the keepers are making sure that the birds are kept in
02:22a nice enclosure which is just about the right size so they feel happy, safe and secure.
02:28It's not about having grand bird shows, it's merely about making sure that these beautiful
02:34species live for a long time to come. So I think that summarises what I really like about this
02:41brilliant park.
