00:00At mago ang State of the Nation Address ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ay nagbukas na din ang first regular session ng 20th Congress.

00:07Una natin alamin ang update niyan sa Senado at naroon na ating kasamang si Daniel Manalastas live.

00:15Naomi, nagpasya na nga ang mga Senador at mananatiling Senate President si Sen. Francis G. Escudero sa ilalim ng 20th Congress.

00:26Labing siyam na mga Senador ang pumabor dito.

00:32Tumayo si Sen. Joel Villanueva para inominate si Escudero na mananatiling Senate President.

00:38Sinigundohan naman ito ni Sen. Ronald De La Rosa, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian at Sen. Rafi Tulfo.

00:45Habang isinulong naman ni Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri na maging Senate President si Sen. Tito Soto.

00:52Ang resulta, labing siyam ang bumoto para iluklok si Escudero habang lima naman ang sumuporta kay Soto.

01:01Si Sen. Gingoy Estrada naman ang naluklok bilang Senate President pro-tempore.

01:06Habang si Sen. Joel Villanueva ang Senate Majority Leader at Chairperson ng Senate Committee on Rules.

01:14Napakarami pong sinalag ni Sen. Escudero para protektahan ang ating minamahal na Senado.

01:20Hindi po madaling harapin, ginoong Pangulo, ang mga mapanghusgang mga komento,

01:26masasakit na mga batikos ng ilang mga kritiko,

01:29at minsan mga below the belt na pag-aatake, lalo na po sa social media.

01:33And I believe Sen. Cheese can bring out the very best in the Senate this 20th Congress.

01:38A tried and tested leader of this August Chamber,

01:41a workhorse like no other,

01:43and a man who can strengthen the public trust in this institution

01:47in even the most turbulent times.

01:50No other than Sen. Vicente C. Soto III.

01:54Ang mga bumoto naman kay Soto bilang Senate President,

01:58inaasahang mapupunta naman sa minorya ng Senado.

02:02At jail dyan,

02:03ninuminan ni Zubiri si Soto bilang kanilang magiging Senate Minority Leader.

02:09Tinanggap naman ito ni Soto.

02:10Si Escudero naman nagpasalamat sa tiwala ng kanyang mga kasamahan.

02:15At narito ang bahagi ng kanyang talumpati kanina.

02:30But this Senate is not mine alone to lead.

02:36will never be determined by a single hand,

02:39much less my hand.

02:41But by 24 heads,

02:43each with a mandate,

02:45each with a mind,

02:46each with a voice that matters.
