17:23so
17:31Hello, how are you?
18:01Hello, how are you?
18:31Hello, how are you?
19:02Which is always exciting for me.
19:07Tattooing is so mainstream now that it's kind of hard to see what it was, but for a long time if you had a tattoo you were like, oh, I'm not sure if I should trust this guy.
19:17And I think that was kind of, not the point, but it was, you know, if I'm going to get a tattoo, it's to be outside.
19:25And I think with tattooing, you know, maybe not so much these days, but obviously tattoos were supposed to be something that kind of stood out and were shocking and anti-establishment.
19:35So I think the two just kind of went hand in hand. If you are going to get a tattoo, you get something that's kind of spits in the face of the norm.
19:43And obviously that was what Black Sabbath were about.
19:46Birmingham's a really working class place and it always will be. People are very real, people don't take themselves too seriously.
19:56And I think sometimes people always trying to chase us being like a Leeds or a Manchester or a London, but that's not who we are.
20:05They're a very real band, a very working class band. And even when you see like Ozzy talking on TV and stuff, he's still very much that, doesn't take himself too seriously, good sense of humour, like hasn't really changed.
20:24I think Birmingham can get a bad rap. I don't think people have like other cities. I don't think they see it as the second city.
20:33And I think when you're from Birmingham, like you're proud of things that are from Birmingham and like, like we gave people metal. Look what we did.
20:44It's kind of like, I suppose, like stealing a bit of glory.
20:47Hi, I just want to say congratulations to Black Sabbath as they get back to the beginning on July 5th.
21:01I hope everything is well and God bless you.
21:05This is Daniel. I am from Costa Rica. I just want to say thank you guys for everything.
21:09Your music inspired me to travel from Costa Rica to England some years ago.
21:14Also having a meet and greet with Ozzy himself was a life-changing experience for me.
21:19So thank you so much. We love you.
21:22Thank you, Black Sabbath, for making history in the music. Thank you so much.
21:26Hey, what's up? This is Dave from Tucson, Arizona.
21:29I just want to say thank you to Ozzy and the rest of Black Sabbath.
21:32And I also want to give a big shout out and thanks to my bond because she got me into you guys and your music.
21:37And I just want to say thank you and have fun.
21:40Saluti dall'Italia.
21:45Thank you, Black Sabbath, for bringing me up on rock.
21:50Birmingham forever. Legends were born.
21:55This is Dingo, Two Socks, Silk here, McDingleberry, and Black Sabbath.
21:58It's absolutely one of his favorite bands.
22:00My name's Glenel. These are my little friends behind me.
22:03I'm from Canada and everybody all around the world.
22:06Big cheer for Black Sabbath. Oh, my God. It's a lifetime of memories.
22:10Damn, we're going to miss you guys.
22:12Ivan Mitchell from Monterrey, Mexico.
22:15Thank you for giving us a passion, a reason to live.
22:18And don't forget to go fucking crazy!
22:20Hey!
22:34Ozzy!
22:35Thank you for being on the spirit of creatures of this ineffable thing called metal.
22:47Thank you for coming to Colombia in 2015.
22:50Thank you for existing on absolutely everything.
22:53Yes, you are metal, man.
22:55You've changed the life since you began.
22:57Sabbath have never been in fashion.
23:03They've never been out of fashion either.
23:05And so fans are there for life.
23:08Once you're a fan, you're always a fan.
23:10Digbyth was really like the Wild West in the early days.
23:15Like, anything could happen.
23:16There were these empty warehouse spaces.
23:18And we really lent into this sort of post-industrial area of Birmingham.
23:23Behind doors of these spaces, you'll find artists and musicians.
23:27It's a real nod to sort of the counterculture scene that's happening in Birmingham.
23:33There are young musicians that are plugging in their guitars, turning up the volume and
23:39making heavy metal music.
23:40And that comes from Black Sabbath, who, 15 years on, came from Birmingham.
23:46They came from this place.
23:47And that is their legacy, that this music is as vibrant as it was when they started out over 50 years ago.
23:53I think people often assume that Sabbath fans are like men in their 60s.
23:59It's such a diverse fan base.
24:01It's a global fan base.
24:02I don't think we can stereotype who a Sabbath fan is.
24:05Their influence on fashion and that aesthetic is about being yourself and doing it on your own terms
24:11and really pushing against the mainstream.
24:16Black Sabbath lent into that darker side.
24:19And they were really uncompromising in both their sound and their look.
24:22And that has influenced counterculture, whether that's from grunge to punk to heavy metal.
24:28And I think they've done things in their own way.
24:30And I think that it's not so much about the look as it's a way of being.
24:35For me, heaviness isn't just about amplification.
24:38It can be about lyrics.
24:39It can be about a way of being.
24:41It's the world that we're existing in.
24:43And I think that continues to drive creativity.
24:48And Sabbath, we're the first ones to do that.
24:52What's up, Birmingham?
25:04You having fun?
25:07Give it up for Lamb of God.
25:09That was amazing.
25:10Growing up, heavy metal was a safe haven for others like me, just like you.
25:19It was a coping mechanism for the rebels, the renegades, the disfranchised, all of us, the defiant ones.
25:26This music inspired us to challenge the system, to be activists of change, and it connected us and allowed us to find our own kind of peace in a world of chaos.
25:37I look out here today, and I see that this is still our safe haven, and we are still here.
25:44The music of Black Sabbath has influenced and inspired musicians of many different genres who feel the same way.
25:52And we are fortunate to have an incredible cast of insanely talented musicians, gathering to pay tribute to Ozzy and Black Sabbath.
26:01Some of them were inspired by the music of Ozzy Osbourne, and some of them are here who helped create the music of Ozzy Osbourne.
26:09So please, I want to introduce and welcome Lizzy Hale, Nuno Betancourt from Extreme, David Ellison from Megadeth, drummer for Ozzy for 15 years, Mike Borden from Faith No More, and long-time Ozzy keyboardist Adam Wakeman, and Mr. Jake E. Lee.
26:39Here we go!
27:05Anybody seen Jake E. Lee?
27:06Anybody seen Jake E. Lee?
27:09Jake, Jake, Jake, Jake, Jake, Jake, Jake...
27:32Now that's how a fucking rock star rolls in right there.
27:39This is so beautiful.
