00:00we thought this deal was done back in March.
00:02And we're talking about the Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons.
00:04He's in camp.
00:05He's always played the good soldier.
00:06He's not due a, okay, we owe him a little bit more money.
00:10Mike, we think he's going to make more money than any defenders ever made
00:12in the history of the NFL.
00:14Why is this deal not done yet?
00:15And also, now we're getting infighting between Jerry Jones
00:19and Micah Parsons daily on the microphone.
00:22Yeah, so the comments from the owner are ridiculous.
00:25It's like how baseball, you guys were just talking baseball,
00:27baseball arbitration, the way that plays out, it's really ugly, right?
00:31The teams have to sit there, tell the player and their agent
00:35how much that player sucks, and then come to an agreement
00:38on a contract anyway.
00:40This is sort of playing out like it doesn't have to play out this way.
00:43Jerry is just choosing to make it this way.
00:46The strategy none of us understand is they ultimately have paid
00:49these guys anyway.
00:51They waited on Dak Prescott's extension.
00:54Then he broke his leg on national television.
00:56Then they gave him the contract anyway.
00:59C.D. Lamb, they just waited until right before week one and extended him.
01:04I don't understand what waiting does here for them.
01:07Even if he's going to be the highest paid player, Donnie,
01:10he was going to be the highest paid player perhaps at a lower number.
01:14So they're just costing themselves money unless they have some long-term idea
01:21that he's not going to be a part of the team.
01:23But throwing your players under the bus like Trevon Diggs and Dak and others
01:27makes no sense to me.
01:28It is part of the risk of the sport.
01:31It's pretty insane because when I'm looking at like the Cowboys,
01:34how they operate, they're obviously the richest franchise in professional sports
01:38possibly in the world.
01:39But there is a salary cap restraint where if you are a smart businessman,
01:42and let's just say the minute you thought Dak was going to be your franchise guy,
01:45you signed him to a big contract.
01:47You did the same thing with C.D. Lamb.
01:48You did the same thing with Micah Parsons.
01:50You can get extra players, a cornerback, a linebacker,
01:52a defensive tackle, a defensive end, and have a better football team
01:55because you were smart with your salary cap,
01:57not just being a smart businessman.
01:58It's always crazy to see how Dallas plays it out,
02:00but it's going to be Jerry Jones' world,
02:02and we're all just living in it even in 18th Stadium,
02:05which is Jerry's world at this point.
