00:00Yeah, let's start with Jerry.
00:01Of course, the Micah Parsons contract stuff is a big topic there in Oxnard.
00:07Here's Jerry giving an update, I guess you could say,
00:11on where the contract talks are right now.
00:14Just because we sign him doesn't mean we're going to have him.
00:16He was hurt six games last year.
00:18Seriously.
00:20We've signed, I remember signing a player for the highest paid
00:24at the position in the league,
00:25and he got knocked out two-thirds of the year, Dak Prescott.
00:31So there's a lot of things you can think about just as the player does
00:35when you're thinking about committing and guaranteeing money.
00:39On the tango part of it, Micah said in the podcast
00:42that ownership has overcomplicated this thing.
00:45In your mind, do you guys think this has been overcomplicated?
00:48Of all of the people that I've sat down with as a player,
00:52of all the players that I've ever negotiated with,
00:55Michael Parsons is as savvy and knowledgeable and understanding
01:00of his financial business relative to football
01:03as any player I've ever been around.
01:07Who?
01:08John.
01:09He's smart.
01:09He called him Michael Parson.
01:14Michael Parson.
01:15He called him Michael Parson.
01:18I mean, Jerry, enough.
01:20He's got to stop doing these press conferences.
01:22He really has to stop.
01:24You know, I think when everyone tells him to stop being the GM
01:27and making all these, you know, media sessions and after games
01:32and all these interviews he does and everything else,
01:34everyone keeps telling him not to do it.
01:35He does it even more.
01:37You know, the more they tell him to stop, the more he does it.
01:40Well, let's see if you can decipher this one.
01:43It sounds like he's really not a fan of long-term contracts at all.
01:47Like, period, no matter who it is.
01:50Here's Jerry.
01:50The other thing I would say is contracts are four or five years, okay?
01:58There's a lot of water under the bridge if you step out there
02:01and do something in the first two or three.
02:04You can get hit by a car, seriously.
02:08And so there's a lot to look at over a lot of years
02:11that could make a big difference.
02:13Have you ever heard of any clubs committing to players
02:16and then they didn't pan out after they committed to them?
02:19We have.
02:20Yeah, tons.
02:23He's too much.
02:24He's too much.
02:26He's right.
02:27You know, the funny thing is there for me is always they got his,
02:29like, cardboard cutout son sitting there.
02:32He is so worthless.
02:34I mean, the kid has been stepped on his entire life
02:38and he's got this big highfalutin job with the Cowboys
02:42and no one respects him at all.
02:44Like, they don't, do they?
02:46Like, nationally, maybe in Dallas they like Steven,
02:50but everywhere else we, you know, think he's a joke, right?
02:54Like, I do.
02:55Like, you see him sitting there, I'm like, what a tool he is.
02:58That guy just sits there and does nothing, ever.
03:01He's got no juice.
03:04He can't wait for that old man to die.
03:06I'm telling you.
03:07I guarantee.
03:08He made it a point at that press conference yesterday to say, though,
03:12he stopped Jerry at one point to say that he's the one that talks
03:17to all the agents.
03:18Because Jerry was going on this rambling rant about how he doesn't talk
03:21to agents.
03:23So, obviously, the 50 reporters in the room are going,
03:25well, who talks to the agents then?
03:27So, Steven had to explain that he does all the agent talking to
03:31of the Cowboy Brass.
03:33He's the guy that is the connect with the agents.
03:34Yeah, I think they think that he's a tool, too.
03:37It's probably the case.
03:39Should be another fun year in Cowboy Land,
03:42especially with Shadi as the head coach.
03:44Should be a lot of fun.
03:46I can't wait.
