00:00Meanwhile, in storm-soaked Pampanga, streets have turned into rivers and routines into survival.
00:06But amid the rising tide, locals carry on selling, paddling, and hoping for clearer days ahead.
00:12Denise Osorio reports.
00:16Nearly 700,000 people have been affected across the entire province of Pampanga,
00:21following a series of typhoons that just battered the Philippines.
00:25According to the Pampanga Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, or PDRRMO,
00:31the impact of typhoons, Bising, Crising, Dante, and Emong, enhanced by the Southwest Monsoon, has been devastating.
00:40Meron po kaming naitatalang 210,527 families na apektado, or 681,961 individuals.
00:50Ganon po kalala ang sitwasyon at epekto ng ating sunod-sunod na pagbagyo po dito sa probinsya ng Pampanga.
00:59A total of 288 barangays across 18 cities and municipalities remain under flood water.
01:06In some areas, particularly along the coasts, the water could stay for weeks or even months.
01:12The local authorities continue to assist evacuees by providing family food parcels, hot meals, drinking water, medicines, and temporary toilet facilities.
01:22Meron po tayong provision dyan, hindi lamang po ng family food packs, kundi ng mga hot meals na agad po nilang makakain
01:30habang pong nagsastay po sila sa evacuation centers at masiguro po natin na sila ay busog at malusog.
01:37The province is also in close coordination with national agencies, seeking further support and long-term flood control solutions.
01:44Agencies have held meetings focused on flood mitigation and infrastructure repairs along the Pampanga River system.
01:51In Masantol, despite the widespread flooding, daily life carries on, especially around the market.
01:58Some residents continue selling vegetables, fish, and local snacks along roads that turned into rivers.
02:04Among them, Joner, who still manages to keep his small rice and soft-rake stall running despite plummeting sales.
02:11Sa ngayon, ma'am, bali niintay na lang namin talaga yung baha umupa para pagkaroon ulit ng maraming benta.
02:23Meanwhile, JR, a former Lechon stall owner, now makes a living by ferrying people around on a friend's boat just to earn enough for food.
02:32Nagaanap ng pera para may mabili ng pagkain.
02:37Kaya, kaya nasa labas ngayon. Wala na pong pambilin bigas. Ganyan po.
02:42Despite everything, the PDRRMO urges residents to remain vigilant, heed official warnings, and prepare for possible further flooding in the coming days.
