00:03Derbyshire protesters who are fighting to preserve woodland from planned development

00:07have been honoured with a top award for their inspiring campaign.

00:11The Save Farley Moor campaigners have held a series of events and activities

00:14to highlight their opposition to plans to build 75 cabins in 140 acres of woodland at Farley Moor near Matlock.

00:22Following the campaign's launch last October, they have attracted nearly 3,000 petition signatures

00:27and highlighted the need to protect the location of the nearby ceremonial site dating back to the Bronze Age.

00:33Now they have been crowned as the winner of the Inspiring Groups category

00:37in the countryside charity CPRE's Living Countryside Awards.

00:41A spokesperson for the CPRE, formerly known as the Council for the Preservation of Rural England,

00:46told the campaigners,

00:48The work that you do to protect and enhance our beautiful Derbyshire countryside is commendable

00:52and we were impressed by your commitment and achievements.

00:57Top bars in Chesterfield have been recognised at an event that celebrates licensed venues

01:02and the steps they take to improve night-time safety.

01:05The Best Bar Non Awards took place at the SMH Group Stadium on Wednesday

01:09with more than 20 venues across the borough recognised for their commitment to creating a safer night out.

01:15Jane Randall, who is chair of Chesterfield Pubwatch, said

01:17Chesterfield boasts a fantastic range of pubs, restaurants, bars and clubs

01:21making it a wonderful place to enjoy an evening out

01:24and we want to make sure everyone feels safe when out and about.

01:27We're really pleased to see so many local businesses coming together

01:30and picking up their Best Bar Non Accreditation again.

01:33It really does show how serious we all are
