Filet Of Soul - Freedom 1969 (USA, Psychedelic Rock / Rhythm & Blues)
Almost forgotten band from Thorp ( Wisconsin ) , formed under the original name "Attila And The Huns" in 1964 . For a long time the team did not apply for more than popularity among fans and patrons of smaller clubs . Two released in small editions ( at their own expense ) singles were rather a tribute to some vanity and desire to dissolve normal tail to acquaintances girls , rather than a means of pursuing and achieving success. But something happened that happened in those days quite often - in one of the regional competitions in 1967, they heard a beginner, but already quite famous scout and businessman Lenny LaCour and immediately offered his producing services . The fact that music "Attila And The Huns" was a kind of mixed doubles soul, garage and mainstream rock that could hit the spot " wider audience " with their energy and originality. LaCour signed a preliminary contract with the "Chess Records", the material released was already agreed , artists studios even have time to prepare the cover , but it fell through , for whatever reason - is unknown. However , Lenny decided not to give up and release a self . The name had changed to "Filet Of Soul". Cover that gang liked , it was decided to purchase from authors, but as funds were very limited , had to settle for no color and black-and- white approach . Studio rental costs , it was decided to minimize the whole album was recorded in one day ! Happy " singer-songwriters " received at the hands of 50 copies just chipped vinyl and went to celebrate this event in the company of girlfriends giving their few copies boldly and proudly affixed autographs. Some part of the meager circulation went on sale , but the absolute lack of promotion and poor quality of sound did not release this significant event .
