"The Starting Line On the Canvas" takes the growth stories of Zhuojun, Yizhe, and Letong as the clue, and the Children's Palace Guangzhou ("CPG") brings their destinies together. Zhuojun and Yizhe are autistic individuals, known as "Boy/Girl of Star". The inclusive education at the CPG has helped them discover their strengths and achieve certain accomplishments. Letong was a former student at the CPG who unfortunately developed bone cancer. With the support of her parents and encouragement from teachers at the CPG, Letong actively received treatment and fought bravely against the illness. Yizhe has made continuous progress in music and painting, while Zhuojun, in addition to serving as a teaching assistant at the CPG, actively prepared for and won a medal in the Guangzhou Marathon. Letong's health gradually improved as well. The teachers at the CPG and the students receiving inclusive education form a unique humanitarian landscape of the city. In the film, the patience and love of the teachers at the CPG towards the children are the warm backdrops, conveying the respect for life and care for humanity. It also showcases the pioneering efforts and exploration of Guangzhou, as a pioneer in reform and opening up, in promoting equity of social education and ensuring the dignity and development of special groups, while seeking economic development.
