00:00we are one week away from our first football game of the year albeit a pre-season game in the

00:06national football league and yet it is football next thursday night 8 p.m eastern under the

00:13lights of the pro football hall of fame in kenton ohio it's the hall of fame game that officially

00:19kicks off the 2025 nfl season and pre-season action it's the chargers and the lions detroit

00:28drs and ever so slight favorite minus 120 on the money line the over under 32 and a half will break

00:35down the game next week to give you any betting handicaps that you need from a handicapping

00:41perspective it's not the most attractive game from seeing the stars in the familiar faces for

00:47both franchises quarterbacks justin herbert for the bolts and jared goff for the lions other superstars

00:53in the fold as well we're not going to see them you probably won't see a single starter

00:59the rs this is a time for the young kids for the reserves to try to battle for a spot on the 53

01:06man roster so it might not be the prettiest football game you will have ever seen but it's football gosh

01:12darn it and that's a beautiful thing in and by itself yep two teams with some snazzy uniforms that

01:19they can wear we'll like to see the football back you won't see any superstars in this game these are

01:23the two teams that have the extra pre-season game but also understand it is about like the backups

01:28and getting them some time but the thing i always like about the nfl in the pre-seasons where the

01:32coaches will tell you flat out we don't put anything any stock whatsoever into these pre-season games

01:37they're basically for the owners to sell an extra couple tickets for tv rights because we actually

01:41like practices and the controlled scrimmages with other teams way better and get way more work than in

01:46these pre-season games but it is football and you just see the odds makers go ah money line split

01:51minus 121 side plus 100 the other 32 and a half have at it there's no real handicaps unless you're

01:57saying well this coach and the ravens really take it seriously and the other ones don't it's hard

02:01enough betting on a sport like a major league baseball the nfl at the start of a game in a

02:05regular season we say i know the starters that are supposed to be there i know the weather conditions

02:10and i handicap this game appropriately how the hell did i lose this game by you know 16 points when i was

02:15laying four points in this game it happens but good luck in pre-season where a coach will tell you

02:20andy reed no toys for this starter's going to get to a first half tonight patrick mahomes six of seven

02:26on the opening drive for a touchdown he doesn't play the rest of the night wait a second mahomes

02:30got eight plays you told me he's playing the first half almost impossible to bet the pre-season
