00:06I mean, never looked the level that everybody thought they were?

00:11Detroit finished the season two and three against playoff teams,

00:14not including Green Bay and Minnesota.

00:17The Detroit Lions defense that people thought,

00:19because of the week 18 game against Norton, man, let me tell you,

00:24Angeloni, yeah, how's he look?

00:27Still chasing his tail out there.

00:29They had 40 points put on their head.

00:31Washington punted one time, once.

00:36So this is a thing now, if you're the Lions, you go, well, don't worry.

00:41We're a perennial.

00:42Well, you're probably going to lose both your coordinators

00:45this offseason, which is not an easy thing.

00:48The last time I remember easily that happening

00:50was when the Eagles happened to them after a Super Bowl appearance.

00:54And the next year, they also had to flip the coordinators

00:57because they were both so terrible.

00:58Matt Patricia, I think, at some point, was coaching offense.

01:00I don't even know what was going on in Philadelphia there.

01:03So that's difficult. You then have the Jared Goff problem

01:07that people spent the entire season ignoring, which was, hey,

01:11Jared Goff's the Super Bowl favorite.

01:13That's kind of crazy.

01:14And ultimately, we saw how that looked.

01:17And then there's the Dan Campbell end of it.

01:19And we'll find out.

01:21But right now, he screams Tom Thibodeau to me.

01:24For anybody that doesn't know, the Nixon Bulls head coach,

01:27where every year you go, man, if only Tib's guys were healthy.

01:31Yeah, I wonder why they're not.

01:32You know what happened going into this game?

01:34Zeitler wasn't there.

01:35Then they immediately lost another guy.

01:37And you can think, Donnie, that that's bad fortune.

01:39But I think you see it similarly to me.

01:41When you play and probably practice the way that Detroit does,

01:46you're more vulnerable to these type of injuries.

01:47The war of attrition.

01:48When you can play less meaningful games and rest your starters.

01:51And we're not saying that that was why they lost that football game

01:54to Washington, but it's all a part of it.

01:55It's all those pieces together.

01:57The one thing that we were worried about

01:58was once you get to those big football games,

02:00would Dan Campbell actually butt his head in and say,

02:02you know what, this isn't a good play.

02:04We shouldn't have done this.

02:05It didn't really catch up to them yesterday.

02:06They just couldn't play any defense.

02:08And yes, they were injured, but they were still the number one overall seed

02:11favored by close to 10 points during the week,

02:13which came down to around 7.5 to 8 by game time at this point.

02:16That was still a shocking defeat.

02:18Let's understand this.

02:19Detroit really helped Washington win by beating themselves

02:22right out of the gate with turnovers.
