Saturday night in the Motor City, the one seed for the first
00:03
time in franchise history. That is the Detroit Lions at this
00:08
time, last season, when the Lions got ready to host their
00:11
first playoff game in the Motor City, Detroit had just won its
00:14
first divisional championship of the National Football League in
00:18
three decades, thus hosting its first NFL playoff game in 30
00:22
years, hoping for its first postseason victory in 32 seasons.
00:27
The Lions did exactly that. Now Detroit is hoping for even more
00:32
history in the 2024 NFL campaign now in the calendar year of
00:37
2025 as a nine and a half point favorite against the Washington
00:41
commanders in the divisional round. With the highest total we
00:45
will have this weekend and maybe for the entirety of the NFL
00:48
postseason at 55 and a half. The Lions DRS are two wins away from
00:54
going to a point no other Lions team has a Super Bowl. Detroit
00:58
has won NFL championships way back in the late 1950s before
01:03
the merger before the Super Bowl era that began in 1967. Detroit
01:07
has never won a Lombardi trophy, yet never even played in a
01:13
Super Bowl. The Lions are close to doing just that and expected
01:17
Donnie to be only one win away in an NFC championship game in
01:21
the Motor City exactly one weekend from now as they are the
01:25
largest favorites of the division around laying nine and a
01:28
half points in that is the one big question. Are the Lions
01:33
laying too many points on divisional weekend?
01:36
I don't know. I'm gonna say right now. I don't think so. But
01:39
also understand this like if we could just like to get into a
01:42
time capsule band and go to another week, which will be next
01:44
weekend and take a look at the capabilities of what the AFC and
01:47
NFC championship games might be like the Eagles and the Lions
01:51
and let's just say Kansas City and or Buffalo and Baltimore. My
01:55
goodness, we're gonna have a sensation again. Now, we'll wait
01:57
for that. These games are gonna be fantastic. But if you are
02:00
looking, I say this, some people out there, if you're looking at
02:02
you know what you drive down the field, you just pick up points
02:05
in a game that this isn't your game, because they're not
02:07
kicking field goals. Neither team. They're both sensational
02:10
for town and ultra aggressive on both sides. You just saw that on
02:14
Sunday Night Football. I believe what did Washington not they
02:16
went for it on two fourth down plays and didn't even get it.
02:18
And so they're not winning that football game. Because yeah,
02:20
touchdowns matter. And that's going to be one of the keys.
02:23
Because you look at the 55 and a half. It's crazy high it is. But
02:27
if I'm going to tell you that we're not getting three points,
02:30
like fourth and two at the eight yard line going in, hey, it's a
02:33
playoff game. We're young, we're on the road. Washington's going
02:36
for it just the same way they did against Tampa Bay early in
02:38
that game when they could have just gotten points to even that
02:41
one up. So that adds into the 55 and a half where you're trading
02:44
three points for seven, which is a four point difference. I'm
02:46
granted if you continually stop them, it's great for the under
02:49
but when teams are aggressive with weapons that usually helps
02:51
you out. Understand this to these two teams here both been
02:55
in the top 10 of possession time in a football game. We just saw
02:59
multiple weeks now for Washington 1011 1213 14 play
03:03
drives. Baker Mayfield through what 18 passes in that game, not
03:07
because they were doing a ground in pound. He threw 18 times
03:09
because they never had the football. It felt like that's
03:12
the key to try to holding Detroit off the field. And when
03:14
you have a quarterback as talented as Jane and Daniels, not
03:17
even talking about his passing game bad, but his running game,
03:20
every third and three third and four turns into a first down or
03:23
he gets close enough for you to go for a fourth down. That's the
03:26
electricity that he provides. So I do think we have long extended
03:29
drives. And the other thing to looking at Jade and Daniels in
03:32
this game, I believe it's outside of the Dallas game. We
03:35
played only less than a half at that point. Multiple touchdown
03:38
passes are his thing. And if you're looking at not kicking
03:41
field goals spent in this game, and you have to score
03:43
touchdowns, it's going to be on his arm. And if we're figuring
03:47
that they're going to lose this football game, I mean, they're
03:48
close to double digits here, they're going to be throwing the
03:51
entire way. So early in the week, and maybe even on Moneyline
03:54
today, we might be locking in a Jade and Daniels over one and a
03:57
half touchdown pass. Look at plus money on the fan blue
03:59
sports book, because we're not kicking field goals, we're only
04:02
scoring touchdowns.
