The power of private citizens in flight for election| Trump
Transcript
00:00For some Americans, it's not enough to just sit and watch the news.
00:04They take action in meaningful ways.
00:06One America's Chanel Rian found two such examples in Arizona
00:09during Monday's election integrity fact-finding session.
00:12Take a look.
00:13One of the Trump legal team's major obstacles in their fight for election integrity
00:17has been one of simply being allowed to present their evidence.
00:21Monday, when nine Arizona lawmakers offered to hold a fact-finding session
00:24to listen to Rudy Giuliani's evidence and witnesses,
00:27it was not an officially sanctioned event.
00:30It was made possible by donors and private citizens.
00:34Historic, emotional, and outrageous, citizens and lawmakers alike
00:37walked away shocked at the levels of corruption taking place in their state.
00:42The 10-hour event took place inside the Hyatt Regency in Phoenix,
00:45and One America News caught up with the event's organizer, John Yepp.
00:49We're here with the state director of Catholic Vote for Arizona,
00:52and you have a very special role in this room.
00:57This is not funded by the Trump legal team.
01:00This event was not funded by the state legislature.
01:03This was organized by you, a private citizen.
01:05Tell us how that happened.
01:06Just about a week ago that I was talking to Mark Feensham,
01:10who's the state rep and who's been behind this,
01:13and he had this idea, you know, wanted to do something public, official,
01:17but couldn't get anyone to listen to him.
01:19So what he did is he just started making calls, and he had this commitment.
01:24Well, if they're not going to have a public one, then I'll just do a private one.
01:28And I crossed paths and said, hey, Mark, you know, I'm John Yepp.
01:31I was the state director for Catholic Vote.
01:33I got some free time now, you know, election's not over yet.
01:36What do you need help with?
01:37He said, well, some funding, and how about you just do the registration?
01:41So I just, you know, did the Eventbrite page, little tiny Eventbrite page.
01:46Three days later, the page had 96,000 views on it, and Mayor Giuliani tweeted it out.
01:52I mean, and the volunteer team that I had helping me with registration, we're just ordinary people.
01:57Outside the conference was a large crowd of Arizonans supporting the lawmakers brave enough
02:03to hold the event for the Trump legal team inside.
02:06One of the organizers of grassroots movement Stop the Steal, Ali Alexander,
02:11helped to ensure local citizens showed their support to the lawmakers inside.
02:15We had 1,500 to 2,000 people outside supporting these folks and just saying,
02:20hey, we're Arizonans, we're the people who donate to your campaigns, we door knock, we phone bank,
02:25we'll primary anybody who doesn't want this issue to actually be resolved in the open.
02:30Public support campaigns have proven particularly effective,
02:33considering many of the lawmakers who have decided to hear the evidence from the president's team
02:38on election fraud have received death threats from Biden supporters for doing so.
02:42Knowing they have the support of the people,
02:45knowing they have the support of the people,
