DOST puts up office focused on tech transfer, commercialization
Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Renato U. Solidum Jr. tells The Manila Times during the 8th National Research and Development Conference (NRDC) in Manila on July 23, 2025 that the department has ramped up its commercialization efforts by establishing a dedicated office focused on technology transfer and commercialization. The annual NRDC, as mandated under Republic Act 10055, or the Technology Transfer Act of 2009, serves as an avenue to share the outcomes of publicly funded research and development (R&D). This year’s conference highlights projects that address issues on health, agriculture, education, disaster resilience, and climate change.
