Electra, formerly Electra Combo (proper spelling electra), is a rock band from Dresden. It is one of the oldest active bands in Germany.

It was founded in 1969 by Peter "Gin" Ludewig, Bernd Aust, Wolfgang Riedel, Karl-Heinz stripes and Ekkehard Berger, who were students at the Dresden University of Music Carl Maria von Weber at that time.

Electra is known for electronically supported adaptations of classical music, but also for progressive rock with expressive vocals and long instrumental solos. Known pieces are Occurs in the cathedral with Stephan Trepte as a solo singer and Turkish March with a flute solo by Bernd Aust. In 1980, the concept album Sistine Madonna appeared.
