00:00What do you think of lowering the voting age to 16?
00:04I think it's a great idea.
00:06I think 16-year-olds, you know, very often are very well engaged.
00:10You know, I've got a 15-year-old son, he's, you know, increasingly knowledgeable about
00:13what's happening in the country and around the world, and he's got political views, and
00:18I trust his judgment.
00:19You know, I trust his judgment more than I trust many older people's judgment, to be
00:23honest with you, and it's the same with some of his friends and, you know, school friends,
00:27schoolmates.
00:30They're thinking, I'm not sure if you've seen that, of lowering the voting age in the
00:3316 in the UK.
00:34Do you think that's a good idea?
00:36I think as long as there's education about the systems and the voting system, then I think
00:43it makes sense.
00:44I think younger people need to be engaged in politics, and they probably don't, and I think
00:48particularly getting them while they're at school and having that conversation in school
00:52grounds and facilitated with teachers is a good thing.
